I got this toy as a kid and I still have it. You have to put the cup right next to his foot, and he'll pick it up every time. He walks straighter if you have him hold his arms inwards while walking. Also, you don't have to point the remote at his face for it to work, the sensor is on top of his head so it works from any angle. A great toy!

Now the robot sits in my garage. I'm reprogramming him to speak words and have and easier time walking on his hind legs.now all I need is to get roboraptor and reprogram him

i have two roboraptors (one of whom i kind of adopted when a customer at my work asked if we could get rid of him and some other things for them). one of them works fully and the other just kinda works. not used them in year but at least i can confirm they dont say "rosebud". :-D
I received one of these as a gift the year it came out. I think mine is a sort of metallic blue colour. The funnest thing to do with it was to scare my cats. But other than that, it's been sitting in the corner of my room since I got it pretty much.
Mike, you should totally review the other Robosapien variants, like the Robosapien V2. Also there's apparently a version being made that can be commanded with an iOS app.
I can remember seeing this a while back on TV, I thought it was a pretty cool little gadget, If someone had a time machine and went back only 50 years, There people there would think this was extraterrestrial life :L It's actually a pretty advanced robot.
They made robosapein V2 which had a sleeker design than the original and had better mobility. Then there's robosapeinX which is the same design as the old one and had ALOT of the problems fixed that the old one had it also came with an infrared dongle that you can plug into your phone and download the free app
I got the Blue version yesterday for 30 bucks. For that amount it's amusing and fun in short bursts. Plus I can freak pets out with it. For its original 100 dollar price eff bloody no. 30 is about max it's worth honestly. It still is no Omnibot replacement. One day we will have a proper fun and usable home robot that isn't more than 100 dollars. This is not that day.

I've always kind of wanted to rework a Robosapien as a telepresence drone. Replace the head with a webcam, and wire the remote to work online.
