- I got the opportunity to lock my phone away for over 3 months. Here's my experience without social media, web browsing, iMessage, and more.

Some activities, like social media, are worth giving up. However, maps, communication, camera, are tools that are useful to keep around
It’s so cool to see how much you have grown up! Hope you have an awesome 2024!
Awesome video! great points made, i've been following your channel for 5 years now and it's good to see you back! are you getting your masters at BC?
I wasn't subscribing to your channel for fear of getting stuck in "I want that gadget" mentality. I like to check reviews when I want to buy something but I dont't want that constantly intruding on my TH-cam suggestions. This video is worth a subscribe for me. Thanks for being arround. I'm glad more people are putting their phones at rest these days.
Very motivating video. Good tips to keep in mind for a more relaxed life
I’m 50 years old, and I didn’t get a smart phone until 2010, so I know from years and years of experience, on how to live without that technology.
Same here :). But they have born with it; must be difficult.
@@3polygons I had a more fulfilling life before all that technology, myself.
You could just get a super basic phone (they still make them, surprisingly) that can only receive calls and SMSs, and write some short SMS to coordinate with people when you have appointments, etc, or need to send confirmation codes, etc. Indeed, I believe those have GPRS and some sort of map system, even without internet. My father (84) does that it's always possible to contact him for whatever. He only uses a smartphone at home for whatsapp, to coordinate with a charity where he helps. Eventually grabs it to make photos on the street, but that's it. He's not interested in anything else! :D.
great stuff brother
Hey bro your videos are nice please make frequent videos so that we can stay in touch with your content always.. we would love to see you more frequently ❤😊
Harris, email is best, just be careful who you give it to.
He for got to tell us that he used a camera
I find it interesting when people comment on these videos like "you should just delete social media but keep the phone for gps etc". That's like an alcoholic saying he should still drink on special occasions.
The whole point is to phone detox. Sure deleting social media is great, but when you still have the phone as a stimulus, you're not getting the full effect by keeping it around and fooling yourself that it's "just for gps" because that bleeds to camera, to email, to iMessage, and then you're back in the cycle.
