The diploma offers the only vocational route into the surveying profession for those without a relevant degree.
The SAVA Scheme is a membership scheme for residential Chartered Surveyors (Associate, Members and Fellows of RICS) and surveyors who hold either the Diploma in Home Inspection or the Diploma in Residential Surveying in order to produce Home Condition Surveys (HCS).

Thank you very much for this excellent introduction. I have just bought a telescopic ladder for home use, mainly to access a flat roof, and the instructions aren't bad but there is nothing like seeing a good demonstration for providing reassurance that the instructions have been correctly interpreted. I am going to work very hard not to lose a finger when retracting the thing! Thanks too for the tip on getting the angle to the wall right.
