    Thank you.!! I have 3 of the blue cedars. Here in the Pacific NW of U.S. our premium time for trimming them and repotting is mid to late April. They do well when just light warm weather, but not yet hot or still too cool from early Spring. This video was very helpful to me. Look forward to your next one 🌷

      MadamBonsai I have several blue cedars and what people are calling a green Atlantic cedar. Is there a green Atlantic cedar or is its Lebanon cedar. The needles seem to be smaller that the blue cedar and stiffer, all my research speaks of an Atlantic cedar as blue and then the Lebanon and the brevafolia please help to identify if you know, thank you

    • @MadamBonsai2023
      @MadamBonsai2023  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@percyacutt3110 they 3 completely difference in the colours
      The "Blue Atlas Cedar the brigh blue it has short needles in clusters of up to 45.
      The Libanon has of 10 to 35. Each cluster mid green to blue coloured
      Green cedar you will it a bit dropping at the top of needles
      Does this help ?
      But easy they grow the same condition so enjoin them all

    Thankyou Madam
    I discovered you only a couple of weeks ago and it has been a very nice surprise. Atracts my atention your freedom for styling and the pots shape... that's why one needs a lot of masters to learn from... specially me, alone, and probably the most austral or southern bonsai performer
    Herons Bonsai ( england)is a Little alike my weather but still far, I see a lot from "escuela de Bonsai online" feom Spain, but David is strictly japanese styler...I found out that in vietnam and Indonesia they ar more self style and freedom to look for the beauty you personally like...but the language is an issue...so, you in Australia are a perfect complement
    I live south of Puerto Montt in patagonia...I don't know about anybody doing Bonsai further south than me
    Thank you

      Finally I have got you see right thru me :)
      Thank you and welcome to my Chanel
      I found myself an exception rather than a norm among the dominantly and traditionally bonsai growers and collectors’ industry. I also found that many women like me, especially those, whose lives and careers were seriously affected or changed by the COVID pandemic, can benefit from bonsais as a hobby or a growers or collectors of bonsai. I am a living proof of these benefits.
      Wish to share

    Very nice tree!! I've been thinking about adding a blue cedar to my collection. Good to know that they are easier to care for than JBP or other pines. Are they fast growers? I was planning to start one from nursery stock.

    I recently purchased one of these and will be doing initial styling this spring. It would be helpful if you pointed out the season you are in when doing work like this. Telling me that you are in Melbourne doesn’t really help since I am in eastern North America. However if you tell me it is early spring or mid-winter, or late summer that would be most helpful. Since TH-cam videos are seen by a worldwide audience specifics about timing are very important.

    • @MadamBonsai2023
      @MadamBonsai2023  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great idea! But when your tree heathy you can style and repot thru out
      I can’t just wait for spring to repot can’t keep up I repot all year round
      As long as you keep in shade areas for a few weeks they will be fine

      Blue cedar prefers a well-drained loamy soil, but it will grow in a broad range of soils. It is also very drought tolerant once mature
      But this is my mix for them if you could sort the same or similar
