Just gave this video a rewatch. Truly stunning material. I can already imagine the ramification and pad development over the next few years will be incredible! 👏🏽 🪴
That is a stunning natural looking tree! You rarely see decent cedars. Iv recently manage to airlayer a blue atlas cedar if it came close to this one day I would be very pleased! Thanks for sharing
Fantastic! What a fabulous tree! That looked a challenge to work on in situ, especially in making the foliage pads! So thanks very much for sharing this video! It makes my largest tree look so tiny! 🤣👌
Great video. What do you do with wire?? Reuse it?? The place is so beautiful.... the tree has a very especial personality. Thanks for the video. Its a peaceful tree living in a valley, the canopy shows lots of years and the flow of the branches show the same. Really, really interesting....
Nunca vi un cedro así. Es imponente. Es material de vivero, o yamadory ? Imagino que hay que tener mucha paciencia, ya que esun árbol lento en su crecimiento. FELICITACIONES ! Salud.
It is a nursery that I grew in the ground for 8 years before I dug it up and put into a training pot. Now in a ceramic pot will start to develop character, as you said!
Buongiorno. Ringrazio te per l'armonia che mi fai provare. Ti scrivo dalla Sicilia, è un'isola italiana del Mediterraneo. Condivido la tua passione. Buon bonsai a presto
Hi from Spain: Congratulations on your you tube channel and your bonsai trees. I have a question about the cedar of Lebanon ssp atlas. In the video it is not appreciated that you have done the apex. Is it possible to make a JIN or have you left it natural? I hope you can answer me. Thanks
Thank you Jano! The apex of this tree has a sacrificial trunk. I'm growing the top to thicken the trunk that forms the apex, so that it looks more natural. It is better if the trunk that holds the apex is thicker than the other trunks. So I have to gorw this top high until I am satisfied with the girth. The top will be flat as it is in the natural environment, up in the mountains of South East Turkey, Libanon and mountain atlas in Mariko. Cheers!
I just got some atlas cedar cones from my local park😏, and now you gave me nice inspiration what to do with them. Can't wait for early spring to start planting them. Branches look so flexible though, how long you need to keep the wire on them?
Excellent investment there! Wish I had some here as well. Wire might stay on for 3 years. It is slow to scar and it definatly needs to scar in order to stay in place. Good luck with the seeds!
@@ArkefthosBonsai thank you, many people told me they're very easy to sprout after a short stratification, we shall see... I would gladly send you some seeds, each cone have enough of them to start a whole forest.
Thank you, that's very kind! I might take you up on that. Yes I've sterted seeds twice before, just a month of stratification and you are food to go. Good luck, I hope they are fully pollinated!
Thank you very much! I love the end result myself. It's Cedrus atlantica "Nana". This cultivar helps create this multitrunk style that's why I chose it. The species would be more upright.
Thank you! I planted this tree in my garden in 2012, I think, while it was 4 times smaller than what you see now. 2 years ago I lifted it and placed it in a plastic training tab. Last March I moved it into this ceramic although I have a different one in mind for the next repotting. I wanted to create a realistic old growth Cedrus for many years and I'm almost there now!
It is just one tree! Cedrus atlantica "Nana" has a predisposition for this form, so it requires less bending work to get there, than it probably seems. All cedrus species have a "thing" for flat foliage pads and that will help with training the tree in that form as well. Generally, going for the natural species shape saves time and effort in training.
Well... I desagree with you. You should know that wise people are not that absolute about their statements. For example, if you had said "most people don't have the skills to transform a gardencentre tree into a bonsai, given the right amount of time" I would have completely agreed with you. Nevertheless, thank you for your comment! Cheers!
Thank you for sharing ans your Time !!
You are welcome David!
Great artist, great tree material. Cedrus is my favorite species and this is exactly a replication of how they look in the wild. Hats off!
Thank you Nabil for you kind words!
Out of all the bonsai trees I've seen, this is my favourite and would love to own it myself and that's an understatement.
Gorgeous
Thank you so much. These words mean a lot to me!

Most beautiful cedar bonsai on planet.
Thank you Adam! That means a lot! Planning to place it into a better suited pot and I'll be glad! Cheers!

Amazing job . Amazing tree . Congrats
Thank you Jonatas! It's going to be unique!
Stunning. Really unusual specimen. Thank you.
Thank you Linda! I had the natural form of a mature Cedrus libani in mind. In 5 years it will look quite close to that! Cheers!
Amazing work!
Thabk you Eric!

Thank you so much! Did you actually succeed in air layering an atlas cedar? That's awesome! I'd love to see that!
This is a awesome tree. I love what youve done with this
Thank you! Seem quite a few people like the decision to design it like an old growth Cedrus tree in its natural environment. Cheers!
This tree look really really good 👍 for this tree.
Thank you mate! Still has long way to go.

That is one gorgeous tree, beautiful art man!! Wondering, how long did it take u to trim it?
Thank you mate! Trimming is fast. Wiring though... I would say wiring every branch probably was more than 10 hours! Cheers!
@@ArkefthosBonsai Thx a lot buddy for answering. I am learning the art and it takes me like 5 or 7 hours to do one of my 12 inches trees. 😂

Yep, what one‘s was a gardencentre buy will always stay a gardencentre buy and never become a real Bonsai… and you know it
