Confession: Eli is my personal favorite member of VP (holdover from my rock&roll youth). Having said that, there’s no doubt J. None starred in this video with Layne’s beatboxing nipping J’s heels. Usual perfection from Eli & Earl. Can I mention that Geoff’s human range is as sublime as his inhuman low register? While enumerating excellence, the arrangement, lighting, setting, & costumes were also exceptional. Thank you again VP.
I really like this arrangement. It stays really clean and avoids the gimmicky-ness that a capella sometimes falls into. I'd say this even makes that important step that takes it out of "another a capella cover" territory.
I think that's a drop to a G1, then an A1, B1 and then up to D2.... the reason I care so much is because im trying to do that too, I can only make it to the B1, i've done A1 before on it but it doesn't count considering I can't do that all the time lol
Binging on old VP videos and realizing so many of them are underappreciated gems. This one is just smooth and lovely and perfectly integrated. No part stands out as the "one" thing - much like Tennessee Whiskey the pieces fit together with exquisite balance. And J's voice is (as always) so lovely in his solo. Love this so much.
I've loved Pentatonix since their very first TV game show appearance... But WOW. You guys are on a whole other LEVEL. You deserve all the recognition in the world. LOVE THIS
I've watched this so many times, and the harmony they do at 2:36 never fails to gives me chills. But I also just noticed a fun cascade they do at 1:40. (follow the lights in the video if you don't notice right away). Really there are so many good moments in this, and I'm not even a fan of the original song! Amazingly talented group.
Okay, just hear me out. Geoff out of his lower register is so *disgustingly* underrated. Like??? We get that he's an amazing bass, but it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful his upper range is (and he's gorgeous, but that doesn't need to be stated). Can he honestly leave some talent for the rest of us? (Don't misinterpret that, they're all fantastic).
Haha just watched a live video where the Charismatic Voice's coach invited Geoff, he literally said he doesn't consider himself that hot and all the while reading these comments he was like "Cmon guys, don't be like that, don't go there now" ... Being the bass he is, he gotta hit the lowest lows in the self-esteem too I guess 🤣
I love in this video how Geoff showed his range. We all know he can go insanely low, but in this he went pretty high, considering how low he can go. So impressed. Great job, as always

What I love most about Voiceplay is even if it’s a song where I don’t like the original(or in the case of Christmas songs go out of my way to avoid listening too lol)they make the song and videos so enjoyable to watch/listen that you can’t help but to smile and swing along with them

Same here! My first exposure, and I can't remember why, was to "Nothing Else Matters." I was immediately hooked. I was part of several acappella groups when I was younger, so I know how hard it is to do this well, and they shine. I like Pentatonix, and appreciate Home Free, but VP is my favorite. Their variety and willingness to be themselves combined, with silliness and theatrics, won them a spot in my heart.
