    Hi Kym,
    great stuff! Love it. And congrats to the new channel!
    However, as the knowitall I am, two remarks:
    1) the guy who invented it is called "Scharnow", he was a professor at a German maritime university and wrote tons of books on manoeuvring.
    2) since a couple of decades now we call it "Person over Board" because their have been rumours that it also happens to women from time to time and the manoeuvre is exactly the same in that case :-)

    I was only taught the Williamson turn. Both maritime and aeronautical.
    I will try and incorporate this into bridge culture. 👍

    The type of man overboard turn is it weather sea conditions involved on the one you use in a small vessel

    What do you mean by "casualty"? Course?

      Since 'man overboard' is classified as an accident on sea, the person/people involved are considered casualties the same as in road accidents. "In line of sight with the casualty.." - you can see the person/people in the water. Since you want to fish them out, you want to return to your original course on an opposite heading so that you get closer them (or at least the place where they fell overboard) - the place marked with the red dot.
