    I share your preferences on what I'm comfortable using in terms of phrase based articulations. This has so far held me back from buying, although I love the overall sound of the library. It was great to see your video as it shows there is a lot of stuff in Salu that I could use. Thanks for making this :)

      No problem, I'm glad it was helpful!

      Great thing about OT, can purchase instruments individually.

    Beautiful demo of the pianos. I purchased them as soon as they were released, and I am loving them.

    Well I for one hope that OT kicks you a copy of everything they do going forward. I just love your take on stuff. Hey OT! Can we get this guy a copy of Peteris Vasks Strings? Great watch as always, Vince!

    Thanks, like your approach to this. OT has many 'instruments' that border to frasepacks. In this case I absolutely love a lot of the sounds, but it's not all very tweakable and massively overpriced.
    Also, I do hate baked-in vibrato.

    500 at full price incl. vat when the intro is over. A lot of money for small forces. You did well to get a free copy but for others it's overpriced.

      Agreed. Strange he'd no opinion to give on this glaring aspect, and would unfortunately make me question any review henceforth.

      @@citizenworld8094 thanks for the feedback, it's my first time 'covering' a newly released library and opted for a more personal angle rather than weighing up the pros and cons in a more general way. However I'm definitely aware that a video like this can come across as a simple endorsement and I'll keep your comment in mind if I do another one. I definitely don't want to encourage people to buy something they can't afford or won't find useful or entertaining!

      Hiya! Yes the full price is definitely up there and won't make sense for everyone. I also have mixed feelings about the trend towards niche libraries - it could easily become a never ending shopping list and we should really be getting better at writing for real instruments!

      @@vincecomposer Totally agree. This new idea of placing your hands over a keyboard, playing a chord and becoming a composer is a joke really. Can't blame OT and others exploiting the lack of knowledge for composition but there's no way these composer get sustainable work unless they are very lucky. Niche libraries are for those who don't want to learn their chops. Would you agree?

      @@JulienTabaraniComposer Your point is very good however....if one has the chops and some experience in programming, one can do very well professionally without having to use real players. That's ok if you have a budget but that's rarely the case. The other issue is, like you said, a DAW being the holy grail. It isn't, and Orchestral Tools in my opinion are doing exactly what Spitfire Audio did and telling everyone they are now officially composers if they buy their products. It's a marketing BS ploy in my opinion

      The Tec Control is great! I personally find it more intuitive than a foot pedal or using a fader after the fact. Takes some getting used to though :)

      Welcome! It's the Tec Control Breath and Bite controller - www.tecontrol.se/products/usb-midi-breath-bite-controller-2 - very useful piece of kit, would highly recommend.

    Something similar to SA Albion Solstice genre ?

    • @vincecomposer
      @vincecomposer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Looks like it covers similar ground but I don't personally own Solstice so can't compare directly. OT have produced quite a bit of content sharing their inspiration - th-cam.com/video/-KW6hlgZiII/w-d-xo.html - cheers for watching!
