      Premier Outdoor Living what retaining wall blocks are you using? Also are you using construction adhesive on the retaining wall blocks to keep them in place? Thank you. This is a beautiful project and you look well planned and organized for efficiency.

    Like I said, I think this is in my top 3. So many cool straight lines. Kinda minimalist but still some super Dope features Bud. Especially when you ran the deck boards at a 45 but, still overlapped each one past the centerline intermittently. You'll be breaking 10K subs & watch time will skyrocket with these jobs!! Hoping all is well and Dirty Jersey out!!

    Nice project! Regarding decking substructure - why do you prefer fixing one end of joists to the wall of house? We usually make one more load bearing beam so that decking frame is not connected to house itself.

    • @THEpremieroutdoor
      @THEpremieroutdoor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      we actually build like that a lot of times, especially on older homes because we don't really know how solid the rim joist of the house is. This was new construction so we knew the house was in good shape and with proper flashing they wont have any issues down the road

    • @MistAtsiM
      @MistAtsiM 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's called a ledger board... Pretty common. Beats digging/boring next to foundation... If properly flashed and underpinned away from foundation it's a solid build. Nothing wrong with that at all.

    Where do the downspouts terminate? It looks like they weren't touched and will allow for roof water to drain underneath the new decks. Does that require attention or will that area become a dark, wet area for mosquitos to breed?

    So this project was beautiful. I love the pattern on the deck boards. I think I’m going to incorporate that in my new build. Two things I’d love to hear feedback on. Could be based on your location. First, I didn’t see drainage behind the retaining wall. Won’t hydraulic pressure cause that to fail in 8-10 years? Also, you put pavers over 2A stone.. Don’t you put an Inch of 9 down over the 2A level to that and then go with pavers? I’m dumb, just asking questions. The project turned out beautifully and I just would love to hear your feedback..

    • @THEpremieroutdoor
      @THEpremieroutdoor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot!! Being as though only about a foot of wall is above grade there is very minimal pressure on the wall, and we lay all of our patios over a 3/4 clean stone base with a 3/8 clean stone setting bed, we switch from sand and love it!

    Hi great build! I see that you have a composite top on the railing (unless I'm mistaken). I'm currently redoing my old PT deck with composite, for the railing I wanted to use aluminum railing with a composite bord on top. However at my local big box stores I don't see any options to put/atrach a composite bord on a aluminum railing as I see in this build. Can you provide detail on the railing system? What type/brand of railing and what/how you attached the top?
    Cheers!

  • @RicoLen1

    Love the decks and patio, but it looks unfinished without trees, large bushes, and decorative rocks. There needs to be something very tall further in back to help balance the immense height of the house. A tree or three that is fast growing near the property line that could give the place an old growth feel to the yard in a few years would make a world of difference.
