What I am so love on the hydrasynth is, that you can also modulate the waveform, when you have the Oscillatore on Single. Great for FX sounds and weirdness
I’m confused about something. If we want to modulate “Wave” for example with an LFO (not LFO+), we should choose the middle wave of all waves and set the LFO with 64 depth, so we get all of them equally. Are we getting half of the time the first wave if we just use LFO with 128 depth?
Aye that is correct, you answered it. I sometimes get lazy and chuck on LFO instead of LFO+, therefore the most balanced thing to do would be to as you say but the offset starting point in the middle to get an equal coverage of the waves. If you use first wave with 128 it will hang on the first wave, sometimes I like that the way it hangs and then modulates. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I may film and add a small 1 minute explanation to slot into this module. In Part One of the course series I do mention the difference between LFO and LFO+ and starting points for modulation.
I still have my Korg Wavestation A/D and used to have the keyboard version too. Way back, I used to spend countless hours, at times tedious ones, programming wavesequences taking advantage of all its great ways of programming them, including morphing smoothly-or not- through them via a mod wheel, exp.pedal, LFO's or envelopes, clocking them to MIDI from my Atari/Notator setup which could produce incredible sonic results, or a great one was programming a number of somewhat similar waves then using linear or exponential velocity to trigger them. That was great for funk clav type stuff or just very percussive type playing, because the waves could be gated, instead of having any length. You could even emulate what you can do with velocity>filter with that trick. These are all things that can be done with Hydra, just not having the same exactitude as with the WS. I'm looking forward to trying some of these programming ideas and the WS background really helps for doing that. Almost forgot, wanted to make a suggestion as to how to create a rhythmic pattern, instead of an LFO putting out just straight 1/8th, 1/16th, notes, etc. Say you wanted a bar of 4/4 with this pattern, but repeated 3 times- 1/16th note, 1/16th rest, 1/16th note, 1/16th note. Classic Ultravox White China- the values of the 4 steps would be approximately 100/ 0/ 100/ 100, then use that LFO to modulate the total Amp Level. Of course with 64 steps you could build very complex rhythmic patterns.
Sorry for the late reply! How did you get on with the tips? Yes I will look into that concept on making a rhythmical pattern with rests. I think there’s so much more to explore with this synth with experimentation
Second is loads of out of the box tips and tricks, little ideas you can add to create interesting patches and sounds. Part 3 is 10 full preset builds from the ground up.
@@justinurra3349 they are meant to be taken in order, but, I would actually say course part 2 is much more advanced than pet 3. Part 3 guides you from start to finish on how I make patches. Definitely! I cover this in the course series too, you can scan through all waveforms which is mental ain’t it!

i recently got the hydrasynth 49 key, im enjoying every second of it. you're video has helped with learning new things too, so thankyou!
Great to hear! It’s a great synth!
Just got a hydrasynth and thank god you have your seires. Also loved your electro track on the syntakt.
Thanks 🙏 How you getting on with the hydra?
I’ve just scratched the surface. Like it much better than the Peak.
Me too! I had the peak before hydra, sold it to buy the hydra

Last patch is great James
Thanks 🙏
What's the main difference between the 2nd and 3rd masterclass?

Subscribed. Hoping to buy a Hydrasynth. Do I detect a NE accent?
Aye! Hull :) Hydrasynth is great fun!
i hear your volume pot gets as dusty as mine😂
Aye it’s crackly!!
