I love love love anything distorted. Great video. Just a word of warning: in your video the Rabbit Hole has some really nasty resonances that go up into dog-whistle territory. Please watch out - for those of us who can still hear those upper frequencies it's really painful to listen to. It's like one of one of those old CRT monitors, only way way louder and more piercing.

Tip for ya tri & sine lfo mod wibbling. Shift the phase of either by setting the value to either 32 or 96... now those shapes will always modulate from the highest of lowest stage of the shapes phase when modulating both of the 2 particular shapes. Both shapes wobble rather than ripple or bubble, when shifted in phase 90° or 270°

Why in my dikitakt 2 in usb config there isn't the overbdrige usb? I have download all the firmware ecc and i don't understand why

Wow !! This was amazing !! Truly is a masterclass. Besides being an awesome patch, reminiscent of some Alan Parsons Project - Sirius or something. I LOVED just following along and make the patch on my own HSD (This is probably my most paused video on TH-cam, ever haha). I learn so much more from that, than watching someone just explain what every button does. Thank you James ! I'm looking forward to watching the rest of these videos !

Fantastic video and inspiring results. Take this request or leave it, but could you slow down your workflow a tiny bit, or talk a little more about what you’re doing *before you do it? Sometimes you move through the settings and make adjustment at what seems like 2x speed, which is impressive in and of itself (!), but it can be impossible to follow as a viewer. It’s why I gave up on your Digitakt course pretty early on. Not a criticism, just feedback - still grateful for your output.

This is great! Very creative use of modulation. Using an LFO on the VCA or VCF could also be a nice workaround to get 32nd note retriggers on sequencers that don’t offer it, like the key step pro.

How were you sequencing the LFO to the filter on the K2/Pro-1 ? Using a modular unit or some other way like Ableton cv tools? Super cool technique!

The reso boost is primarily designed for use with the VCF FM mod as it gets really squelchy and disgusting at really high resonances. Then if you disable the VCO, with the filter in self oscillation you get a FM modulated resonant tone that tracks the VCO CV, if that makes any sense? Or just set up a constant self oscillation tone with the reso boost and the filter lock engaged and use one of the FM sources to modulate it for some classic flatulent radiophonic workshop action. The filter lock was originally designed so you could actually use the external VCF input without having to retrigger the envelope with midi, and without having the 303 envelope permananely applied to the cutoff when you trigger it. It just locks the filter and the envelope open, so if you turn off the VCO then you can just use it to filter external signals properly. The added bonus of that being the weird drone thing it does with the VCO on. Try it with the accent turned up. The attack of the accent with the filter lock on is really weirdly organic. I've always found a 303 distorts best if you drive it through an overloaded mixing desk channel. Other than a RAT, distortion pedals seem to make things a bit flabby or just lose the top end due to the limited bandwidth and the circuits being a little too smooth and 'nice'. The drive switch is basically just overloading the output stage similar to how you'd drive a mixer channel into distortion. The 303 kind of does this already with the volume on maximum, but the drive is just 'more of that' ;-)
