Did Sam Smith’s 'In the Lonely Hour' deserve to win Album of the Year at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards?
The album was fantastic but when you judge by the amount of creativity that was put into an album, an album that was more diverse in sound and message. Then it's BEYONCE
If Beyonce's album was not nominated, which is impossible, I would say Yes, because its a fantastic album, but Beyoncé is extremely creative and out of this world, and every single song on the album is amazing. Its an album that you listen to from start to finish, not skipping one song. Its a timeless album.

i seriously fell in love with him! I hope he win big in the Grammy!! i can't wait!! xx
Why do people have to compare one artist with the other? He won this year and that's it!
i really want to watch you in your tour here in manila on may 10 :)
don't be frightened to display your talent --sam smith ;) #word
Sam deserves to win album of the year but American audience will give it to Beyoncé....
You obviously have not listened to Beyonce's album. Haunted, No Angel, Drunk in Love, Superpower, Heaven, Blue, Rocket are the reason she deserves album of the year. Im sure he will win song of the year, record of the year, and/or pop vocal album/song. He will win his awards, trust me. A white person who sings "soulfully" is music to the grammy's ears.
Sterling m i agree with you on every point except record and song of the year. taylor swift has a really good chance for record and song of the year as well. so i think it will be a close fight, and there is a good possibility that sam smith will get song of the year, while taylor gets record of the year.
I have Sam Smith album and I believe it was very incredible. But I do not believe that he deserves to win Album of the year. I believe from the history of the Grammys, Beck might win Album Of The Year, but I truly believe that as an overall album and as an overall message in an Album, BEYONCÉ 100% deserves to win.
Suggestion to Radio.com: Give a TRUE CRITICAL REVIEW of the album of the year nominees. not just a review of the singles. This is ALBUM of the year. not 'album with the best singles' of the year. For instance, the review for 'Morning Phase' was disappointing to say the least. This album is crafted with nuance and sophistication - in its lyrics, vocals, and instrumentals. The songs build up in a beautiful crescendo to a climatic ending, 'Waking Light'. Giving 'Morning Phase' a review almost solely centered around one song ('Heart is a Drum') is a HUGE INJUSTICE to the album.
The review for 'Beyonce' is also insulting to the album's true quality. 'Beyonce' is probably Beyonce's first album that was NOT defined by its singles. Its strength lies not in having catchy singles, but in being consistently strong throughout, and in its creative and seamless transitions from track to track that create a masterfully pieced ALBUM. The No Angel-Yonce-Partition-Jealous ensemble is one example. Yet all the review could do was talk about the singles. The album is SO MUCH MORE than its singles.
Here are some things you SHOULD be talking about:
1) What are the unknown but amazing non-singles in the album?
2) What is it about the album as a whole that grips the listener from start to finish?
3) What are the album's flaws?
4) Is it an album that is consistently strong but lacking in a single fantastic moment (e.g. Beyonce, GIRL, Morning Phase)? Or is it an album with outstanding singles but not quite as strong when considered as a whole (e.g. Future Sex/Love Sounds [2007 album of the year nominee])?
5) What made the album stand out vis-a-vis other potential nominees?
You need better critics, and a better production team man.
Please make more Sam smith
