Very nice video! Can you tell us what Item model number you have? I am assuming you have the international model, I’m not sure if that’s what you have, but it will help to make sure that phone will works with the 2 radio networks used by wireless carriers. GSM, CDMA
Thanks, best description of dual sim I've seen so far! They are of course pushing 24 now, do you know if the 24 ultra also performs well with dual sim in the US? Or should i look for last years model?
I wish Dual physical SIM was an option.

I wish you would have showed, discused, and or showed what it's like texting while on a call or getting a call on one line while on the other, and how is visual voicemail treated for both lines

At 5:16 you got "Mobile Networks" page with enabling "allow secondary SIM to use data durring voice calls". I got 2 physical simcards, and i don't have this option i my menu. Any advice? Greetings!

If you use an app that forces you to allow access to your contacts, can you differentiate which contacts are used for each specific line?
The U/U1 variants of the Galaxy S23 phones are now US only in terms of SIM card support. If you plan to use a SIM card from another country, you'll need another device to cover it (unless you have an eSIM from Germany or Sweden in which you can keep your current device).
My S23 Ultra U1 variant disagrees whit your comment, physical Sim from Claro and eSim from US carrier.

I see you got Verizon on there as well how did you get that too work I been on the phone with Verizon for 4 hours and they can't help
Great video.. How does voicemail (visual voicemail) work? 2 different apps?
Same app handles both. Shows the line icon so you can differentiate between the two.
@@jeradhilltechdo you have issues with the dual switch changing the primary SIM when you check the secondary SIM's VM? It is quite glitchy on my brand new Z Fold 5

Any suggestions for getting visusl voicemail to work with both the physical sim and the esim? Per t mobile, i cannot see get visual voicemail with my esim.

@@DZ-cq3gs sort of/not really. I have all voice mails set to be sent to me as a text message and as an email. Doing it this way, none of my voice mails are transcribed to the visual voicemail app.
My sister has her phone updated to this however is not accepting her physical SIM card :Metro she watched TH-cam videos but still can’t get it to work
So you're using the Apple Watch ultra with a Samsung phone too? I really love the AW Ultra, but hate the iPhone. My primary device is the S23U, while the 14 Pro sits, and just used for video for projects. Thinking of switching back to Garmin.

I use att and now im testing verizons network on esim. How do i make verizon my mobile data only while voice and sms are on att (sim1). I cant seem to figure this out
Set VZW as the primary SIM. It'll use that for data. Then go to contacts and select all, and choose your att SIM as the default for calls. You'll have to add new contacts as you go for that preference but it works well enough.

I thought all carriers allowed data use while on a phone call now? Years ago that wasn't possible.
To be very clear, you are saying that your US S23 has a single-sided sim card tray? The dual sim versions place the sims on either side of the tray and it may not look like dual sim if you are used to seeing the dual sim tray that have them side-by-side
US has single sim and European versions have dual sim.

Yes, it displays the line name on the incoming call screen.

I'm not sure. I could never get it to work even though it was listed in the specs. The S23 is the first one since there used to be dual SIM slots.

@@zoteck2294Because if you own the phone you shouldn't need permission from your carrier to swap sims. And at that it should only take seconds to do not 30 mins to an hour. I've always considered E Sim to be a downgrade despite it sounding like an upgrade it's really just a useless feature that was never needed to begin with.
My new job uses apple products. Can i use this method to only carry one phone?
Most iPhones support dual SIM.
how does whatsapp work? are there 2 accounts at the same time? how do you use them each?
there is an option on the cell phone to create a copy of whatsapp that works independently and can be assigned the other phone number

It only supports using one esim and one physical sim at a time.

In the US, no. Just a single physical SIM and eSIM.
I hope Google fi is ok with using dual sim and it does not affect the $600 credit they are giving.
It doesn't I purchased my S23 Ultra with the credit. It's a different IMEI so Google Fi has no idea what the other IMEI is doing. Also, the promotion is still counting down in days for me so no issues there.

I have two eSims and only one will be active at a time. I have the Ultra S23.
I have two eSims in my S23 Ultra. One model is physical/esim and the other is eSim only.

Great video. Got a really specific question about the Dual-SIM which no one is able to answer. This is the only reason why I have to stay with my iPhone.
My scenario:
I have an iPhone with one ATT eSIM (for data) and another physical SIM (main line) from a German carrier. My German line is my business and primary line. I use ATT only for data in the US.
I changed the Network Selection on the German carrier from "automatic" to manual...then choose a carrier which it will not able to connect to. This forces the iPhone to always have WIFI calling over cellular data. So now I have 24/7 WIFI Calling with my German line in the US or all over the world, avoiding any expensive calls.
Is this somehow possible to force on the the Samsung S23??Please say yes so I can run in the next store ;-)
One more important thing. I know this is not possible with all carriers (like Verizon) since they will deactivate the manual carrier selection on iPhones and Samsungs. But the German carrier is pretty nice ;-)

The other SIM is an eSIM, not a physical sim.
Well I just ordered a dual SIM tray off Amazon we'll see if it works it was only six bucks

Really need DSA ( Dual SIM Active) which this phone is not. No phone offered in US are. Makes you wonder why? Promote more phone sales my guess.

I'm using s21 ultra, I used to have dual sim working fine, but with recent update it just disappeared.. don't know what happened though. 😢
I did not think the S23 had a dual SIM version and you video clarifies to me that I was right. an eSIM is not a SIM which is why you talk so much about carrier problems. A dual SIM phone does not have carrier problems. Neither of my carriers allow eSIMs
I am going to Thailand, I just converted my US number to eSIM, so I'll have the physical sim slot available for Thai number.

No, there is only a single physical Sim slot. The second has to be esim.
