Very nice DIY repair 😍
I just finished rebuilding one. Vapor blasted inside the motor can then used ice cream sticks to space the magnets and loctite 401 super glue to stck them on. Toyota use's a special body grease which allows current flow. Toyotas grease can be exspenive and hard to get so I used Carbon Conductive grease. Lubed it all with the carbon grease. This allows contact of the finger to the wheel that has cut outs. Went to seal shop for new o rings. Timing is important. A 9V battery is good for bench test.

I got my motor and all working but canr get the damn thing clocked right where it locks and unlocks.. either itll lock and not disengage or itll be unlocked and move the rack just far enough where the gears will tap each other but not engage.. like spin the wheel and itll tick but not lock,. The light will come on like its locked so the switch is getting triggered but not fuckin getting into position.. dunno what to do with it..
You have to put the multimeter on resistor mode, and play with it by hand until the multimeter stops beeping...follow the wiring that touches the wheel with them contacts...its not hard to do...good luck, let me know if you managed to put it back on the position! I will give you more advice!

Yeah...well, was all working fine but I did upgraded for Air Locker now, you can see the video on my channel doing the pneumatic actuator installation.👍

You can buy parts as well, go to EPC data Toyota, and you get genuine parts...I swapped mine with a pneumatic actuator, is much better in my opinion.
