- An hour before EAL took on The Ocean Course in RGC Film's latest Break 90 feature, he warmed up at the range and used the opportunity to talk about what's in the bag. This WITB is a bit different: we brought the launch monitor.

I was at the range today and had the almost the exact same problem.

To be honest with you I think your numbers we’re pretty right on it was only calculating carry and you’re expecting total. But I don’t know nothing about nothing, so that’s an important point to make lol.

Watching this was like watching myself at the range: start out smooth, have a couple tight swings, start pressing, wonder why my 4 iron doesn't out carry my 5, wonder if I even know how to golf--wonder if I EVER knew how to golf, then pipe a drive on the last ball that reassures me I do know how to golf ...sort of. Big reason why I've started skipping the range for even 4 or 5 holes of practice when I can. Thanks for the relatability EAL.
Hi Eric, your 5 to 3 iron are the MP-20 HMB (hot metal blade). These are hollow construction irons. That's why they are a bit bigger and easier to launch. Happy to have you in the Mizuno family. Keep up the great work and hope to see you soon somewhere on a golfcourse. Kind regards. Mathijs

@@CRonoldo7 No thanks! There’s a reason why nobody plays Sunday bags. It’s just for posers and golf hipsters like EAL. Aesthetics beat out practicality for some. A lightweight stand bag makes too much sense.

Love to see what else you carry on every course (aids, accessories, etc). We all have too many other things in our bags (too many balls, 1000 tees, 4 gloves, energy bars) love to see what you and your crew view as essential

Played today at the Ocean Course and actually had Mark as our caddie! What an awesome and personable guy. Couldn't have had a better time! Check off the bucket list. He said he enjoyed filming the break 90.
Those mp 20s are amazing. I have the HMBs from 3/5 and the standard mp 20s 6/p and they’re 🧈 butter. I’m happy you love them EAL. As do I.

Loving the podcasts, driving has never been more enjoyable, Tony Finau and Zen Golf were very interesting, the funny thing is I was sat just outside the entrance of Royal Aberdeen when it came to me to do so, I also met you while you were there, well I said hello and got a nod but I’m still claiming it 👍🏻
So with the redundancy of your 3 and 4 iron, why not add a 21° hybrid, and go to maybe a 16-17° 4 wood to add some versatility to the strong end of your bag?
I have the same redundancy at 3 iron...but I like to have it in the bag for a tee box option, and low hooded punch shots from just off our tree lined fairways. Though I do find it increasingly hard to resist trading it out with my Titleist 915H in 20.5*...or my old Bridgestone J36 in 25*.

I was wondering why there was like 6 weeks no video with EAL starring and then watching all this video you really get the impression EAL needs a break; it's really a pity. I love watching the good-mood-golf-lifestyle videos, the zen mode when enjoying the play and always seeing you having loads fun and great time together. But currently watching EAL (despite the fabulous shots) one gets the feeling that this is more a must than the usual desired enjoyment. Wish you all the best - you do fantastic work!

You probably have the HMBs in the long irons. Hollow body, more forgiving, hotter/longer, and higher launching.

I really think that as a long iron player that you would really enjoy using a utility/driving iron, the Srixon, Wilson and Titleist ones are all good options there

The tracking app looks at swing speed, smash factor, club path...it does not take into account actual yardages including wind or elevation. So no, the wind is not a factor here.
Doesn't appear to be any launch monitor. You'd see trackman or whatever in the down-the-line frame if it actually was there. "Hey, throw out some numbers +/- my guess along with that tracer and we're good" 😂

I’ve copied all your vibes. I went taylormade driver and wood, even though I used to despise tm. I replaced my f9’s with m6’s. I’ve played vice balls as much as I could until I figured out that that balls that I seem to never lose are supersofts or any gen callaway thereafter. I absolutely love my Jones bag that’s never going away. Still play my hi-toe rusty as hell wedges love em. And I was just about to think about switching over to a p7mc-p7mb combo set until... you said you’re playing with mp-20’s! Ok I will keep my mp-18’s right where they are. You just saved me about $900

Shout out for the TaylorMade Burner Oversize! I bought a 3-PW set in 2000 and played them all the way through this year. Sold them to a buddy who is just starting golf. I miss them sometimes, great great set of irons.

Love the what’s in the bag. The Jones bags hold all those clubs well, seems better than my Taylor Made bag.
I play Taylormade driver and woods with Mizuno MP52 irons and Vokey wedges. I love that you also play a mixed bag of goodies. I love how you love all your iron numbers. Oh and I have a custom Ping Specify that someone swapped the standard weights with a weighted piece of wood which is oddly cool. But the way it plays and feels is unreal. It also is weighted to be ambidextrous and it’s the only putter that I can play left handed.

I play the mp18’s and love them! Taking them out to some of the courses you played in souther Utah this weekend.
i think you can feel the excitement and tension there before the battle... the break 90 rounds are a true test for EAL!

Wow Eric, you get good distance from your irons. I am a 9.1 HI and quite fit; yet my iron distances aren’t that good. I have traditional lofts and hit my PW about 100-110 yds. My 54 deg SW will go about 80 yds. Trying to improve this. Good video.

Mizuno MP25's here. Had them for years and won't use another brand they're so good.
Interesting video, my stock yardages are pretty much exactly the same as Erik. I find a similar thing happens to my longer stuff, I hit my 3 wood just about as far as my driver on average.
You need a combo set my man.. Like your old Taylor Mades.. Your 3,4, and 5 are the same club. I'm sure you'll figure it out. good to see all the youtubers back on the Grind...

I tried to hit the MP20’s at my fitting last week…. You’re a better golfer than I! I liked the MP20 HMB (your 4&5 irons) but liked the JPX Forged heads the best. Waiting for a Mizuno box to show up in the mail!!
I also tried the shaft that you have in your irons, but wound up with the KBS C-Taper in X flex.
Looking good. I think you might want to increase the loft on the 9i slightly, and maybe try a version of the DI shaft in the 3i.
Swap the 3 iron for a 7 wood ??

Man watching this video vs. the break 90 video's sums up golf in a nutshell. Stripe show on the range before the round, game gone missing on the course. Goes to prove golf is all in your head when your out in the thick of it.

Interesting EAL, the new clubs and shot data, you should break 90. Yes sir, better than most.
Benching the 3 iron and putting a hybrid or a graphite shaft would be a nice option. I think even a single figure hdp struggles to mantain a constant yardage with it.
