This young woman joined the military and as soon as she got out of basic myself and a bunch of others noticed that she was "off". Several NCO's dedicated a weekend to teach her to be a female, because her mother had taught her nothing. She learned tampons, basic female hygiene, how to shave certain places, use of make up and hair care. It made a HUGE difference. (Note: because basic was jammed up there wasn't time for her to learn these things).

Questions: What's NOC? And how did you meet this woman?
Also: dang her mom kinda sounds like my mom but I wasn't really interested in those things and l live in the Caribbean and had to teach the shaving and tampon parts to myself.

@@steamyvegetables1445 NCO is a non commissioned officer (sergeant). And how I became aware is that twice a year I was in charge of "cadre". Cadre is a group of NCO's and lower ranking officers that are experts in physical fitness and aspects of training, such as marching, rifle drill, uniform preparation and so on. Anyway, we had just finished a cadre cycle (six weeks) when my two top female NCO's and approached me and pointed out the female that had been neglected by her mother. The three of us watched her closely for two days, then the female NCO's came up with the idea of the weekend where they would teach her things she needed to know. And that's why Jenny and Leesa were great NCO's-instead of running someone off, humiliating them in the process, make them a better human being. Then, if you have made all this effort, teaching them and they still don't comply, then humiliate and run them off.

It's actually kind of sad she got taught to shave- That's the one thing that's good she didn't learn. Shame for her to be brought into that world.
I guess this happened a long time ago before people started to realise shaving is not a necessary part of grooming.

When a military school I attended switched from all male to co-ed, someone made me the remark "Why would a woman want to give up what is best about being a woman to try and prove that she is equal to a man?"
I'm not against women serving in the military or law enforcement (I've done both). I have seen both men and women in both professions that didn't carry their weight. As a cop, my best partner was Becky. She was stunningly beautiful and used that as a super power. When she was my partner I wasn't in any fights. Becky used what is best about a woman. After Becky left the country to marry, my next partner was Laura. Laura was very smart, but always spoiling for a fight and she could hold her own in a fight-I never had to rescue her. My day off partner was Sandra (she filled in if my partner had to take a day off, vacation, or so on). Sandra was an office worker and had no business working in the field. I never had to rescue her, but the only help she was-was to call for back up if I needed it.
So, I am all for both women and men shaving their legs or other body parts as it is hygienic. I am also a believer that a person, man or woman, should not hold a job if they can't do it effectively.

My cousin by marriage...her mom is such a helicopter parent she would speak for her. For example "Hey K how are you?"
Ks Mom: "Oh I'm great! School is going awesome!"
To the point where K would just stand there holding on to her moms arm, staring down at her feet saying nothing. She had a terrible time going to college because her mom kept wanting to come to class with her to "support" her because "she can't do it on her own, she is sensitive, she needs my help!" Absolutely nutso....

If I even get a discord notification she tells me to log off my computer and bring all my books downstairs to study there. Once I dared to ask her if I could play some video games with my friend, she damn near started to destroy my computer. Pretty sure they do this so they can parasite off of his disability checks, he's not severely mentally stunted and I am sure if he was in a better household he would be doing amazing things because he's incredibly creative but because I was a threat to their absolute control they cut him off from ever contacting anyone outside their house ever again. About 13:00... once I was past about two, the food was just monitored for size, and by four I was cutting up most everything myself if it needed it. The only relapse was when I was 10 and laid my right palm edge open on a burr on a girl's bathroom stall door (a burr from where a coathook had been, I ran my hand down the door and didn't know about the burr. I know the janitor went over every bathroom stall door in the school, ground off anything weird and repainted the doors after my accident) and later as a senior when I almost cut my first right finger off in chem lab. At those times I did have to have someone cut up meat, and open peanut butter jars for me. I didn't like it but I couldn't manage those tasks for some weeks after the accidents. Cutting up a teenager's hot dog into rubble bits and they are in possession of all their faculties... shame on the parent.

I had a classmate whose mom took the phrase helicopter parent to an entire new level. This lady would follow our bus to school EVERY…SINGLE…DAY. In order to “keep her son safe”. I remember once she called the cops and tried to have our bus driver arrested for kidnapping. The truth was he stopped to let other kids onto the bus because our stop wasn’t the only one on the way to school. But perhaps the worst thing I ever saw her do was make it her mission to ensure this poor kid never got to experience childhood. Whenever we had recess she’d pick him up from school because she was convinced the rest of us would give him a disease from playing on the playground. But then in the same breath she was always having meetings with the principal and our teacher about her son because to no one’s surprise he had an extremely difficult time finding friends. However, according to Mrs.Psycho we were intentionally trying to exclude her son. When the truth was SHE was the reason as to why her son had almost no social skills and was awkward around other people.

I... I know I'm not a helicopter mum. I've had people look at me funny though. My youngest is accident prone, and I work really hard at not reacting when he falls unless he cries. More than once I've had other mum's at his kindy freak out, and fawn over him the second he trips, and then seem upset when I say " he's not crying, he's fine". As I say, he's accident prone, if he doesn't learn to brush it off unless he's really hurt, he'll never learn resilience.
Also, my oldest was always extremely focused on being independent. On his first day at kindy his reaction to me making sure he wasn't going to suddenly lose it when I left was to tell me "you can go now". I got some funny looks when I didn't linger on subsequent drop offs because I knew he was fine.

9:42 I am almost certainly reading too much into this, but it sounds like the robot guy is laughing right before he reads the list. Like even he's in disbelief. I've heard this guy put inflections on things that he really shouldn't, considering he's a robot. Which begs the question: is this guy really a robot? 🤔

One I read, they were at a day camp, boys about 13, and about mid morning his mother, who had volunteered to help with the camp came up using baby tones going "(kid) It's time for MILKIES! You just LOVE MILKIES, Mommy's got nice warm milk for her little (kid)" and pulled a baby bottle OUT OF THE BACK OF HER PANTS where she'd put it to stay warm. Boy wanted to DIE and the other boys felt SO sorry for him.

The title wasn't exaggerating. Why is a parent monitoring a married adult's activities and how much time they spend w/their husband as if it was any of the parent's business? Op's mom is independent, but has no life of her own. Yeah, right!

That app is crepey af. my former roommate used that to stalk me when I left the house to make sure she knew where I was at all times so she could text or call me to ask me to come back to make her food. So I hate that app with a passion.

The kids probably think it's normal cuz that's what they know. And it's also kinda abusive so it brainwashes the kid into thinking they can't do anything without their parents, and that's the helicopter parents goal, to make the kid as dependant on them as possible so they will always be their baby and never leave them. Atleast in the most extreme cases it's 100% abuse no question about it, in the milder cases maybe it's a parent that is well meaning but is just too neurotic and that rubs off on the kid. They don't want their kids to grow up they have some fucked up mental illness making them want to keep their kids babies forever. And sadly if you have a parent that has sabotaged you your entire life from making friends and missing out on other important milestones then they may become willing participants feeling like their parent is their only friend and that's just so sad.
