Such a cool video. Thank you for doing that. The wind noise added to it. It's the same wind he would have heard, too, flying down that road on his bike as he did so many times before...
Thanks, Jimmy. I am going back to Fairmount this summer, and shoot more videos from my bike and off the bike. My aim is to make a DVD/Blu-Ray about Jimmy Dean and his time in Fairmount.
Thank you for the ride. I would have liked to see the childhood home. The grave of James Dean is really simple for a great legend like him. This place is really quiet.
Man, I'm so jealous! I'd love to do that ride... guess I never will. This is what's great about modern technology anyway - I get the chance to take the ride with you! Thanks so much for sharing. James Dean is in a very peaceful place.
Maybe you will. Have you been there? That's the best -- just go there. Let me when you do. And yes, he is in a very peaceful spot. He got to go back home after all.
Will Davis Well, I live in Sweden so it's not just that easy to pop over! I did tour the States years ago, but I never made Indiana. Next time for sure though :-)
Hi, Ruby. Yes, he rode his bike all over the country roads around Fairmount. Hope you get to visit one day, and I hope to visit Ireland one day. Many of my ancestors on my father's side of the family came from Ireland. He traveled there many times, and researched our family roots. I have the records of all that he found. His favorite movie was "The Quiet Man."
Hey Will ! thanks for the video I too was surprised at how close the grave is to his home.It looks such a beautiful area.Again thanks for the film, take care.
wow original way to vlog this journey ,at one point looking in wing mirror just your arm and white tee shirt could have been jimmy himself ..bet he woke up when he heard your motorcycle coming from the winslows ,seen many J D vloggs but never on a motorcycle jimmy would hve loved it ...........
That little silver car on the headstone and the pink flowers to the right are what we left when my best friend and I were last there. I hope to make more trips in the future.
i was born more then 20 years later after Jimmy Dean went to Heaven but when i was very little my mom and me watched all his movies here in North-Switzerland,in the movies he speaks german, when i was little i thought Jimmy Dean language was german too🌸🌻
What a great perspective. I'm a huge fan like yourself. Thank you for making this video it was great. I hope to visit Fairmount one day looks like a beautiful place to grow up. Difficult for me to visit living in New Zealand. RIP Jimmy D . :)
I just went there this evening. I went to elementary school about a mile away from the graveyard and I had no idea. I was visiting the area again. You found his grave fairly quickly I spent an hour-and-a-half trying to find Muhammad Ali's in Louisville!
It's on county road 150 E, just a few miles north of it's intersection with state road 26. The Winslow far, Friends Quaker church, Carter's Cycle Shop, and the cemetery are all on that road, and all in about a two mile stretch.
Thanks. I rode from west of Eagle Creek, and filmed almost the entire ride, but I blew it, by forgetting to put the waterproof case on the GoPro before I left, hence all the wind noise.
I live in galway. Where the quiet man was filmed. It's a beautifull part of ireland. I'm saving to go visit Indiana one day. Hope you will visit ireland too. God bless
I'm going to his hometown for my 15th birthday (since I only live 3 hours from him!) we are gonna stay for 3 days so I can say my goodbyes to his and view his hometown! I will also be going back to California for 3 weeks and will be taking the same track as his on the day he died.
Salena Marie that's amazing! I'm 15 too and love Jimmy but I live in England so it would be a long way to go. I hope to go someday though ❤ have you gone on your trip yet? 💕
Thanks for the video. Very nice. The cemetery is surprisingly close to his home place. I have a question, when you stand in front of Jimmy's headstone, is he in front of the stone like most graves or is he behind the stone? I ask because the stone is very close to the driveway.
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I have posted quite a few rides in and around Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Just check out my TH-cam page: marlondeanmcqueen. Here's a good on to start with: th-cam.com/video/a2f1fesqH4E/w-d-xo.html
Jim Frederico Hi, Jim. The bike is a 1200 Sportster, vintage 2009. It began life as a Sportster NIghtster model, but I have modified it performance-wise and appearance-wise.
+Don Pippin Don, James was his acting name. To family and friends he was just Jimmy, or Jim. James Dean was a image he created. It was not the real him.
Well Will! It could have been so cool and inspiring video job if you didn't read those letters. Maybe people who left it wouldn't like you touching them

Like to do that ride myself one day. Interesting how close his resting place is to his home. Thanks for sharing.
Well boy, thanks for show
I Love JD and a day will go in Indiana to say goodbye for him
Thank You that was a very nice Video
Thank you.
I was shocked by how far back it is. I was at his funeral service, but that was traumatic at the time.
Beautiful. Thank you.

Hi, Selena. Did you go to Fairmount yet?
Hope you enjoyed your visit to Fairmount.

Behind. The stone is at his feet.
Excellent Vid !!!!!!!!!!!!

一度でいいから行ってお墓参りしたいなぁ・・・
本当に大好きな俳優さんだったから・・・

Thanks, Isaiah. The bike is a 2009 H-D 1200 Sportster, which I have customized a bit.
Wow that looked a refreshing ride. And what a great looking bike. Do you do other touring videos?

Sorry, I didn't bother to edit this!
Sorry I RUINED this video because I forgot to put the wind-proof door on my GoPro!
Please forgive but what model Motorcycle is that?

Cool video ...give some more info
Rip Jimmy
Some people mix up James Dean the cool, hip actor with Jimmy Dean, Country singer and sausage king!
I'm the sausage king
Don Pippen: James was his actor name. To family and friends, he was just Jim or Jimmy.
Well.
It seems like he should have a better memorial than that.
This is James Dean's grave not Jimmy Deans.
+Don Pippin Don, James was his acting name. To family and friends he was just Jimmy, or Jim. James Dean was a image he created. It was not the real him.
Wanted to view Winslow...not grave yards.
Well Will! It could have been so cool and inspiring video job if you didn't read those letters. Maybe people who left it wouldn't like you touching them
+Aiganim Amirova I think they would want other fans of James Dean to read what they wrote.
