Absolute respect to D.J. for adapting as best as he could in the moment, but I really couldn't help but worry about the damage this can do to ones vocal chords.. Simultaneously heartbreaking and captivating to watch this performance.
I came to watch this after the Australian Story documentary. HUGE massive giant silverchair fan from Tomorrow right through to the end and somehow never saw this. I had just moved across the world so maybe I was distracted but now I came to watch I actually feel like they did ok considering 😂. Like yes Dans voice was gone and yes the song needed more justice but they held it together considering. Dan tried to go the metal route a bit 😂
The band would obviously know what illness he had and they played with heart to push along with him. Made this sound even better.
Yeah he had alcoholitis, the doc said not to sing but he didn't listen
I thought it sounded good. Daniel is always quick witted and quirky. He made up for the cracks with the guitar jam at the end. Would love to have seen him mash the guitar on the floor at the end tho.
Yas! He is amazing!!!
This song is one of his hardest to sing. I have been there almost every time I sing.
@@mablesfatalfable6021 he was sick. Many touring singers have laryngal issues. And it would be a hard song for most natural tenors, especially full voice belting. Range is not really the factor, the full voice, vowels, and phrasings and register shifts are hard.
Whatever happens, I will ALWAYS RESPECT and admire Daniel Johns and the rest of the Silverchair band and no one can change my mind! 😂They did Tomorrow when they were 13. Think about that. That alone blows my mind. I look at how his musical style evolved as well and admire his versatility. ❤❤❤
Real artists dont need need autotune even when their voice is shot, Daniel is one of the GOATs of Aussie music
I've watched this about 1000 times.
The show must go on.We loved daniel and silverchair
He channelled Kings of Leon vocal delivery here to get through, hats off, actually works well
Damn how I LOVED this song when it was released 👍🏻
Daniel is too much of a warrior. too much admiration
This is Australia’s best band ever to come out of here, absolutely no contest. And they only fulfilled approximately 70% of their potential.
I think you’re forgetting cold chisel.
@@waynemoloney3862 Fair call but chisel did nothing in the USA.
AC DC .. INXS..The Chats ..silverchair, top my list
@@livewell_79 gee I never thought of INXS 👍

INXS was fucking awesome
He knows right from the start that it's going to be bad. Luckily Silverchair fans know his ability and would know he was sick.
Nailed it danny boy😊
Gutsed it out. Irrespective of whether it was laryngitis or not taking care of himself, drove it forward with everything he had in the tank. *Salutes*
This is awesome...real rockstar
He was drinking because he was sick....he still pushed through he song because he was still singing for us !!!❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹 I still love and support him through the phases of his life. 💞💞💞💞💞
