I appreciate you reminding us all that we really can be producers, not just consumers. I also appreciate the transparency and willingness to share that I have seen from you and some of the companies you have profiled. It's a refreshing shift from the competitiveness and secrecy that typically dominates industry. Prosperity is not finite. We really can all live abundantly.

Because it doesn't benefit the government. They don't want you to feed yourself. They don't want self sustaining citizens that know how to think for themselves. Abundance is the enemy of the government. That's why they poison our water and grow f'd up food for us to buy so we get sick and buy their pharmaceuticals and get more sick while they get more rich.

John ~ I must tell you how much I appreciate what you do and why!! Today I was entertaining the idea of sprouting and/or beginning to grow my own greens again. I was looking around for what I wanted to be able to do that AGAIN. (Actually, I started years ago. My mom was diagnosed with an invasive cancer for the second time. She was given a short time to live. She outlived ALL her doctors including the morbidly obese “cancer specialist” who gave her the second diagnosis! She did it with wheat grass juice, fresh vegetable juice and raw food!) Genetically I don’t look so good AND I have been under enormous stress for the past few years! (As a Chiropractor, a Naturopath and a Homeopath I am well trained in the dangers of stress. AND I was hit by a truck a few years ago walking to my car. The truck came out better than me! I lost most of what was near and dear to me ~ my health, my house, my ability to run and move pain-free through space!) I had something like this that I can’t find and have been looking to replace. I am presently living in a small space with a tiny kitchen and a house mate. As soon as I am out of this situation I will be getting the double rack set up! People do not understand the power of living foods and living greens! They are so potent that they can cure just about anything!

John, best video ever! I too was rear ended and messed up. Months later it caused a vertigo attack which almost killed me in the wilderness. Which prompted me to get a doctor who got me a nutritionist who caused me to have a heart attack. I went vegan and now I’m drug free and grow a lot of my own food. But in Boston it’s a long winter. I’ll be contacting Larry. Thanks so much. 🙏❤️

Why our system works! why we make the money we make!: We don't grow 50 trays of microgreens and hope we sell them, go to chefs and hope they buy... We only grow what we have STANDING ORDERS FOR, chef's tell us we will take 6 trays a week and in those trays I would like: Basil, Red Cabbage, Peas and Leek (example) every week the chef gets 6 trays of these maybe one week Leeks seeds were hard to get so I sub some Mitzuna they LOVE IT, for farmers market I grow less then I would sell thus I have ZERO WASTE if I know I sell 6-8 trays at the market I don't grow 12 hoping to see 4-6 more - If you waste microgreens your lose MONEY

We grown extra because we know we'll eat it ourselves. it's so healthy for you that we want to make sure that we get enough for ourselves as well as to sell the other people, my wife wants to start another channel where she goes over the process of growing the microgreens and selling them. Hopefully one day will come close to the quality and production that these other amazing Farmers have.

WOW! Just saw your episode with Larry on MICROGREENS in Baltimore, from 2-years ago. I was actually looking to grow my own MICROGREENS in quart jars for healthy home use, but this Business Platform was a BONUS! I WAS BLOWN AWAY AT HOW POSSIBLE THIS SEEMED FOR ME AS A 62 year-old woman on Disability Retirement with low endurance. Although it may take me double time to get the daily stuff done. I am home pretty much 24/7 anyway to take care of a healthy business, farming like this.
I will give Larry a call to get updated & find out more about the set up of the equipment. I am by myself, so that part feels the most challenging to me. I know nothing about automating the lights, temperaturing equipment, watering systems etc. The pouring out & measuring the seeds into a tray, watering everyday & watching the calendar should be no problem for me since the trays are so light with no dirt! Even delivery, I can do! Does Larry deliver or have people pickup at his place? I have an excellent Opportunity with a big tourist City nearby! Thanks. I look forward to updates with Larry! Maybe he could provide a Service if selling or setting up those trailers all set up, so less carrying back & forth when delivering & so they can be more easily sold at Flea Markets too! Like the guy in Loxihatchee FL you visited, John. AGAIN, WOW!

I haven’t been able to grow things well . Sometimes the mid day heat is too much for the plants esp w heat waves in California. I’m watering my outdoor plants but I go to work… then come back and things look burnt! I even put a net to cover some flowers… I think this video will encourage me to try indoor growing! Thank you!

Hey John, thanks for sharing this video.
AMAZING. Your passion, and selflessness is evident and enviable. I've been struggling on the monetary front in many ways, and I've come to realize much of my trouble is because my methods and my ethics are at odds. Not that I'm up to any illegal or harmful activity, but that I've been really searching for something that suits my personality, my personal experience and background, my passions, and my desire to be truly helpful to my community, AND make a reasonable profit. This has been a light at the end of a long dark tunnel and gives me some much needed motivation at just the right time.
Thank you SO much for your inspiration, passion, and genuine desire to be of service.
    Namaste.

Your videos are packed full of the BEST HELP & SUPPORT!!!!!! You are the Gardening Hero!
I'm simply growing for personal nutrition I've found Lettuce & Spinach grown as microgreens are also really GOOOOOOOOD! Remembering to be diverse with our veggie salad stuff is a great way to begin to find what works for you.
And I have a serious need for gentler fiber.
The larger older greens become not only more bitter, but the fiber is harder to break down for those of us with digestive issues ~
Red & Green Leaf lettuce is quicker & easier to grow than other salads.
Spinach BOLTS to SEEDING ALL SEASONS in MY OUTSIDE ENVIRONMENT. 30 yrs growing experience in Salt Lake City, Utah's High Desert, with sudden environmental changes of all kinds!
So~~~~~ growing Spinach as a microgreen in a controlled indoor environment will be a more successful outcome for me. If any Spinach or Lettuce happens to be ready to go at the 1st sign of safe Spring outside in ready-to-go raised beds~ wuth a few plants ready to go quickly & maybe get a few plants before sudden heat & bolting.
Re-use is recycling at its best!!!!!!
Thank you for all the details, & clarifying all the info we would happen upon as possible unforeseen difficulties in experimentation~ You're saving us time ⏳️, and money$$, and feeling discouraged during the learning process.🗝🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🧭🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🗝
Enjoying the Journey & the Destination!

$30 revenue per tray, 18 trays in growing stage with an average post-germination grow time of 4 days (so let’s say two rounds per week). That’s 36 trays per week. 36 @ $30 is about $1,000/week revenue. That’s $52,000/year. Not even close to $100,000. Also, those LED lights are not custom. Lastly, I’m sure Larry is a great guy with great intentions, and I hope he is not beyond learning because that facility could be much more efficient. All in all, great video; I really enjoyed it. One more thing: those are coconut pith mats, not coconut coir. Coir would not stay together after it got wet. Coir is the fine inside fiber of the coconut shell. Pith is the outer stringy fiber of the shell.

Trays are $40.00 but even at $30.00 12 racks 10 trays per rack in vegetative state 120 trays every 3-4 days we don't use the racks with lights on for germination that is done on different racks that fit 15 trays each that $3600.00 every 3-4 days at $30.00 a tray - the racks we sell do 6 trays every 3-4 days the growers sell trays for $50-$75.00 to restaurants and $80-$120.00 at farmers markets - Thus the money is there as for the pads we use cocofiber not coco coir you are right there coco coir would fall apart like hemp and felt mats. The LEDs are custom made for us by a leading LED manufacture to our specs - thank you for your comments

You know I’ve kind of been lost in life, and I live in the perfect place to do this. I’ve got the people that are into this kind of thing and have the money to blow.
I’ve been trying to grow stuff on my balcony but it’s not south facing so it’s just a bunch of crowded struggling Plants...
My Japanese grandma used to grow wheat grass and other micro greens when she had cancer My Japanese grandma used to grow wheat grass and other micro greens when she had cancer (and she beat it) so I’ve known about these for a long time. I’ve never seen them at the store so I never thought about selling them or growing them plus I knew a lot of people struggled with growing them because of fungus gnats and stuff like that. It just seems like a hassle and not worth it because they’re so tiny...
And I’ve also seen the thumbnail for this video a bunch of times but I never clicked it because I didn’t think it was gonna be something I would want to do but I was curious about it tonight for some reason.
I’m not done the video you’re starting to interview Larry and I just wanted to write this thank you but also I hope you mention in the video how he made those LED lights or that he would be willing to share that because that something that is a crucial part of it but I would need to buy and set up.

Well i just found this video and watched it and then read a lot of the comments. Seems to me that at $40.00 wholesale per tray and 6 trays per rack you would need around 4.01 racks working at his ratio of turn over (3.5 days per tray) and that does make the math to $100,000.00. At his sales potential, and lets not forget, these are Wholesale prices he is quoting and he also mentioned his prices for Retail (restaurants and trendy markets) his plan is very doable. His room had 12 18 racks...Hmmmm a lot of $$ potential there. All you would have to do is the work of establishing the client base, life isn't a Dire Straits song. You will reap what you put in, it's just some will have to put a bit more at first then others...either that or move to a location where the big bucks are...GJ Larry...

joeshittherag man ha ha ha!!! Developing a Sell to trade business, in a lot of areas can be Very,Very hard ( really read as “impossible”) to do. Restaurants can quickly check off from a list supplied by the Vendor. He gives it to the sales guy and the goods are produced. Try it but don’t invest heavily in this. Believing you will have Great Sales!!! Chances are you won’t sell a thing, first time! Keep at it though! Maybe!!!! Also have a plan B the stuff you grow is FOOD, don’t waste it by being pissed and discouraged!! I wish you luck!!!

This video was made in 2017, I am writing this in January 2021. What Larry is saying about the degenerative diseases that he was able to “cure himself” of is fantastic. Currently, where in the Covid 19 pandemic. Everybody in the world now knows The relationship between poor health and infectious disease/death. It has been demonstrated that minorities in the USA or more at risk from death, from COVID-19. Years ago, I was made aware of how micro loans were transforming places like Bangladesh and poor villages in Africa etc. What if here in America, we applied micro loan techniques to help ambitious people who are minorities get started in this business, especially if they could sell their product in their poor neighborhoods, where I’m sure there is more of a market then one year ago. If you create a demand for quality food, people will fill the need, and in the process make a honest living. WIN/WIN
