this has been my straight up boss / tougher enemies weapon for years now, on top of rifle build because it allows me to, its an amazing weapon for build diversity and lazy full health builds like mine
Reminds me of my first build in FO76, it was a heavy weapon build (.50 cal. main) with a vampiric minigun shredder as my melee. Fun times. Glad to see it is a viable option again.
@VAULT-TEC_INC. same! I was rolling 2 stars because at the time, adding mods wasn't a thing, there wasn't a "must have" third star, and there was only 2 variations worth getting: AA and Vamp
You got a few things wrong: Twisted Muscles works on shredder damage, while Bloody Mess does not. The only perks affecting shredder damage are Basher, Stabilized, Tenderizer and Exterminator. Also the shredder doesn't lose any condition as the game coded ranged weapons to only lose condition if a shot was fired - without ammo you have infinite durability with the shredder.
infinite durability you say? I think I need this. Do you think think it would work on non-PA as I prefer to be with without PA but I do have a complete set in my camp if need be.

You lose the armor penetration from not being able to use the Stabilized perk (so having AA on it might be more important), but extra strength from Unyielding and Secret Service underarmor gives you more damage with the shreddder, so non-PA can actually do more damage with the shredder minigun.
@@Rorschach1998 Someone on PTS already tested that and the 4 star effect "Polished" does not increase shredder damage, so it's similar to Bloodied on the weapon, which also does not affect the shredder.
I've never stopped using this from the beginning. Came into the game using the shredder as soon as I was able to get it. I have the auto wax but I barely use it because it breaks way faster and doesn't seem to really kill that much faster. (Have not used the autoax on bosses or mini bosses yet) But I see people using the autoax and they don't seem to be killing anything much faster than I am with the shredder.
Next Patch Notes : The Minigun Shredder was not working as intended and damage has been lowered 75%. Durability was bugged and not lowering properly. It now will break faster then an egg on a rollercoaster!
I don't have bashing on either my anti armor or vampires shredder, I'll be putting those on soon but they're still pretty nasty without anything on them. Especially just a plain vampire shredder for the Mirelurk Queen or Grafton monster that are beefed up at The heart of the swamp event. Otherwise it's just an anti armor with + 15 AP.. Been running that in a plasma caster for just about everything except for the bosses
Dont forget that this weapon never breaks, and you won't need to use any repair kit. You will stack up on those improved repairs kit in no time. I have over 700 repair kits so far.
Honestly if you can place down a tent, you can just not pick up any ammo when you're running around and after every location you clear out just drop the ammo in the ammo box and later on you can convert it into something else. I have almost a hundred thousand five millimeter ammo that I can turn in and convert to my ammo of choice 👍
If they end up nerfing the Auto Axe, this'll be the first Legendary I craft with the new system and with a 4star on top. Glad to see some classic are still good.

A long time ago someone was selling an anti armor bash damage minigun for very cheap in their vendor so I bought it. It is currently the best weapon I have. It's even a little disappointing how good it is, like even without basher it has better dps than any of my launchers or shotguns lol.
I've got an instigating basher's strength combat rifle. It's modded with a bruising stock and large bayonet. It hits pretty hard. I'm working on also getting strength for my full armor set. Aside from bashing enemies I'm also using throwing weapons which benefit from the instigating effect. During more mob heavy events I will switch to the circuit breaker for aoe stuns. It triggers on every hit (bash or thrown) if the mag is empty. It's a good build for most content. The shredder will be a nice add on for bosses without breaking the build theme.
i carry an auto-axe as my secondary. Im a bloody commando with full strength. Rail rifle hits for 1000+ crit and auto axe hits for 600 on vulnerable body parts. They're going to have to nerf it quite a bit for the auto axe to not be a viable primary weapon.
It's been there for years... so many vids. And no one cared, so. And even if it's nerfed, what's the big deal. Running around and one touch kill anything is hardly a challenge. If that's what some people want, maybe they should play Tetris, cause this game is easy enough already.
have a AP EX std 5mm for general use, and a AP Bash with Ultracite for bashing (and leave 5mm Ultracite behind, leaving my ammo for that one at zero) - switch back and forth when Melee needed. yes, I have Arms Keeper on my Armor to keep the weight down.
I'm working on a Shred N Ded 4.0 on the pts right now. It's really strong with the strangler heart set and all the extra poison damage combined with vipers four-star effect
Just got this out of my stash box again as a Bashing mod dropped for me and its performing very well. Most annoying thing was I kept forgetting and picking up 5mm ammo off dead enemies. Mine is vampires reduced weight so not quite as deadly but still kills most stuff pretty quick.
Does +50% bash damage actually affect the shredder damage though? I'd think +40% attack speed would be better. Bashing is hitting them with with the butt of your rifle or chainsaw handle.
I was on another video JUST talking about the VBash90 lol I still get mine out of Stash every once in awhile. And although a build isn't necessary it's still a good idea to have Basher Perk (STR).
Yes the shredder is still viable. My main has it as a primary weapon. Now with new mods, I have strength on it with vampires/bash. Unyielding SS with aerodynamic arms , plus ultralight legs and chest for AP to increase AP drain. Coffee spamming for bosses. Average about 130-180 damage numbers on limbs. Also have four strength mods on unyielding set and one endurance.

Do Incisor and Overly Generous increase your bash damage? Does Martial Artist increase bash speed? Does One Gun Army cause increased stagger and cripple with bash? Is bash effected by Exterminator or Glow Sight? Does Bullet Shield work if you're bashing.
There is an old Reddit post that worked out what doesn't doesn't work with the shredding minigun, but it's probably a little out of date at this point. I can confirm that bullet shield does not work unless you're actually firing ammo
I always used the accreted barrel cause I think it spins faster I just wish it would count as a melee weapon for mutated events or things which require a melee attack
in the topic of bashing - i cant remember who but saw someone run combat shotgun (i think) with bayonet as primary source of dmg, wonder if u could investigate such game style AT?
Another thing I wonder about. We have like 5 legendary perks that makes enemies explode if they get killed by x type of damage. Any of these apply here?

Great now my favorite weapon will get nerfed 🙄 enjoy it while it lasts , it's the best " melee " weapon , not due to dps or looks but due to how cheap specializing for this weapon is compared to other melees which require more buffs and cards

It’s never been Nerf in fact it’s only been buffed by the fact that they fixed the massive damage. It used to do to itself when you used it, but the damage output has never been nerfed
I’m sorry, turtle but but unless something has changed drastically neither bloody mess or adrenaline affect the damage of that weapon. The weapon will stack adrenaline, but you won’t gain extra damage. The weapon will cause the dismemberment, but it won’t add damage from bloody mass. You really need to test this before you keep telling people that those cards work with it. They do not work with it. The only cards that add damage to that weapon are the bashing card and the tenderizer card and tenderizer card doesn’t work half the time anyway because you know the server never registers the damage before the thing you’re hitting dies. It’s so really the only card that matters is bashing.

the minigun needs a huge buff
1000 shots capacity, a buff to it's fire rate +30 extra base damage.
I prefer the shredder over auto axe or chainsaw because bashing perk card costs 2 perk cards vs melee weapons 9 perk card points to invest into.
I can’t tell you how many legendary mini guns I rolled to get this about 2 years ago.

Even after the nerfs, this weapon is still fun if you have vampire + basher.

The condition bar doesn't seem to decrease either so the 4th star effects will make it even stronger.

I have a Vampire Bat's Shredding Minigun. Best skin combo.
I'd choose reduced weight. It's quite a heavy melee option.
Vampire is very good.

I use the mini Shredder over any auto melee exclusively because of how slowly it breaks + how few perks it takes. Just so damn easy.
I like using my foundations vengeance to shred. It still works amazing.

I still use my shredder daily. Just so funny to melt the mobs down.
I think durability is affected by the number of bullets fired but this weapon used this was does not fire bullets.
Is there still an issue with staggers randomly occurring while it spins up, while in first person?

autoaxe is super glitchy. when i get hit and attack it doesnt register and its locked in attack. have to block and attack again.

Minigun doesn't have unlimited ammo. The shredder just doesn't use any, so "unlimited" as you won't run off nothing...
