Prior to the legendary crafting changes, I managed to snag 4/5 pieces of Over Eater's/Powered/Weapon Weight Reduction Excavator armor from a vendor with a Chinese name - even had the legacy jet pack mod (There was a brief window you could craft it on Excavators, because a PA skin messed with mods, I believe?), and it just came off SKETCHY AS HELL... but despite this, it never got removed by Bethesda so I've been running it for some time now. The take away, is that carry weight is such an insanely good set bonus, that I don't feel much reason to use any of the 'vanilla' PA sets that lack one; I really wish they'd give X-01, and other sets their own bonus to try and differentiate 'em, because the only distinction right now are defensive values, and maybe some mods.. which is mostly irrelevant when even the weakest PA set has the potential to reach the threshold for diminishing defensive returns.
powered is no longer useful for herbivores with company tea, but it is still useful for carnivores. but five pieces is a lot, you could try with less to see if you notice a difference, a few pieces +2 chance can be very useful to reach the 24 chance to make a critical on two shots with a lucky weapon

if they make sentinel work as advertised they will have to nerf it substantially. it’s literally zero risk highest reward, ‘just stand there and survive like a god’ lol
It's my experience that more than two weapon weight reduction mods doesn't really do much. Spread that out a bit between aid weight and ammo weight. *You get to that I see.
Molerats and radroaches dying if they touch you is not a worthy tradeoff for the higher durability and greater resistances of SS armor. You also get away without using deep-pocketed because you're unyielding and have ridiculous carry weight.
I can’t understand the durability aspect of weapons or armour. I have so many repair kits and I gain them every week that worrying about how fast my stuff breaks is so far from my thoughts. A
I always used secret service but recently changed to civil engineer armor and I’m loving the set bonus so my weapons almost never break but sadly with the pts changes and reflect chance from ricochet not being as high due to civil engineer only being sturdy I’ll have to see how it works out in practice once those changes hit the live server. If survivability wise it works out the same then I’ll keep using civil armor but if I notice a decline in ricochet chance I may wind up switching back to secret service
I'm a full health PA build. Currently using Union PA with overeaters, a mix of agility and intelligence, and then full set of thru hikers because I don't want to waste perk cards on weight reduction of my food and chems. I just have arms keeper card for weapon weight reduction as i'm a heavy gunner.
I run food and drink reduction on my Union PA and SS armor. It saves the perk points and also allows you to have a different backpack mod. I use high capacity for more carry weight.
I have a full Excavator/Overeater/+2 STR/WWR for max carry weight and ore farming, a full Hellcat/Overeater/AP regen/Sentinel as tank option, a full Union/Oveater/+2 END/Sentinel which I'm testing right now. On the armor side I use a full SecretService/Unyielding/AP regen/Sentinel and a full SecretService/Unyielding/+2 INT/WWR for XP farming and carry weight. Sentinel might be bugged, but it still reduces overall damage taken - you just need enough hitpoints to survive the bugged damage spikes. As I plan to switch to VATS heavy gunner I also thought about getting +2 Luck on a VATS focused powerarmor, but this depends on the final versions of the 4 star effects. If "Limit Breaking" is still one of the better options for power armor, then I will go for that and a lower Luck value to still crit every other shot. Although the new "Rejuvenating" 4 star effect with health and AP regen that is even active inside VATS also looks quite nice.
Some time ago, I had two PA leg pieces with endurance bonus and it cost me a ton of lost junk several times (i'm not f1st). I don't know if the bug is fixed, but it had something to do with screen loading. If you have low health with rads, you die while fast travelling without any chance to respawn, as controls wont work. Probably because endurance kicked in after screen load and you had negative health on arrival. But it was fun to watch someone stealing so much junk he was unable to move.
For a long time I was using overeater's secret service in an explosive commando build. Ended up farming and swapping to overeater's union power armor for a heavy gunner build, been using that since
Cool! Glad to see I’m not the only one who favors the CE armor too, I just find it very versatile, reliable, looks better than most late game armor sets and the added durability for weapons is very useful for my auto alien disintegrator
Low health, unyeilding-endurance-arms keepers. Full health and power armor, overeaters-intelligence-arms keepers. I have secret service for all my characters but PA is mostly excavator with my main having a set of strangler heart. I didnt know about the Union set because I may not have been playing when that was added but Im gonna have to upgrade my excavator sets.
I've been playing for a while now and given how many events there are that reward improved repair kits. I've ended up with a stack of 300+ kits on me, no need to worry about repairing with how many kits you can get now.
I use Secret Service with 100% Chameleon, and third star Secret Agent...I'm pretty much invisible to everything. I have 100% Overeaters Union too, I've yet to mod the second and third star though.
I use overeaters, hardy and sentinel. I know sentinel is bugged but they'll probably fix it eventually, works well otherwise for the union as I can tank everything. Emergency protocol on it helps too.
OE secret service for regular, hellcat for when i rarely use pa. I have a thorn set waiting for me to make a melee build, a ce set, that i planned to use on my explosive build to reduce breakage, but with 2 shot nerf, that's on indefinite hold. Civil Eng unyielding, endurance, weapon weight reduction and union power armor overeaters, strength and weapon weight reduction with 2 chest pieces one with emergency protocols and other with a jetpack same legendary
Yes, and endurance also boosts you AP now when you have thirst quencher. So it's one of the most wanted 2nd stars you should want on your armor. It also boosts your immunity to diseases.
Hardy isn’t useless but it is very specific. END seems pretty good with changes to perk cards and there are more changes coming that are on the PTS which will come to the live game with the next major update. If you want to test the benefit of the park cards just modify your endurance with the card equipped so you can see how much benefit you are getting. I’m greatly considering using the +END effect considering those coming changes on the PTS. 10 END is also +50 health by itself. AP refresh can come from company tea. I do have hardy and fire resist on my other set of armor though. All depends on what you want out of your armor.

H PA ONLY WITH EMERGENCY P. AND i remove all other perks cards and i'm getting way much less damage, i am a little confuse 😢
Your question is somewhat confusing, the best answer I can give is it doesn’t really matter what power armor set you are using, the most important thing from any power armor set is that (with a full set of any combination of pieces equipped) it will reduce incoming damage by 42%. If you are using emergency protocols then the remaining 58% that will further reduce by 50% so you should only be taking 29% of the normal damage while protocols are active. I don’t know why you would be taking less damage after you remove perk cards, there are no perks that increase the damage you take, only the empath mutation which is remedied with class freak. If you do use the lone wanderer perk and then join a team then you will lose its benefits so that will make you take more damage. If you use overeaters power armor and you are not fully fed then you will receive less benefit from it as well. If you were on a team with another player who does have the empath mutation then they were also reducing your damage with their mutation and when you leave their team then you will take more damage there as well. Almost all power armors come with enough DR/ER to protect you and that is the least valuable part of the power armor anyway. Hope that helps.
Hellcat with a jet pack Ultracite helmet is my go to right now, no one knows I don't have the fully hellcat set if I paint it all and 10% reduction is good enough lol

Or, you could manage your inventory better and save the 3rd star slot and/or the perk cards for something actually beneficial. I've never run ANY weight reduction perk cards or effects on my armor other than bandolier. Instead, I just carry what I *actually* need. (20 super stims, 10 radaway and about 5-10 each of my most used chems like berry mentats, overdrive, etc and about 10 each coffee and quantums) I eat food directly out of my stash as I need it. Most foods last 30 mins- 1 hour and don't stack. Why carry *any* other than coffee and quantum tbh? Are you seriously not using your stash box at LEAST every 30-60 minutes? I highly doubt it. You're probably in that thing after every event. You don't need to carry 250 stimpacks, 700 radaway, or 200 pounds of food that will spoil before you can ever use it all. Pull what you need from your stash/freezer as you need it. With full UNY SS armor, your carry weight should be around 400-500. That's PLENTY. If you're carrying more chems and food than that, well.... why? Furthermore, you don't need every gun you own on you at all times. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk😂

if they make sentinel work as advertised they will have to nerf it substantially. it’s literally zero risk highest reward, ‘just stand there and survive like a god’ lol
It's my experience that more than two weapon weight reduction mods doesn't really do much. Spread that out a bit between aid weight and ammo weight. *You get to that I see.
If you don't die Strangler Heart is the best set. It's the only one that adds damage. Everything else is for being lazy.
I agree, easy to pop a repair kit. It’s SS for me
I always used secret service but recently changed to civil engineer armor and I’m loving the set bonus so my weapons almost never break but sadly with the pts changes and reflect chance from ricochet not being as high due to civil engineer only being sturdy I’ll have to see how it works out in practice once those changes hit the live server.
I run full health T-65, and Secret Service. Both Overeaters and Weapon weight reduction.
Same.
T65 + Hellcats Paint on it looks fantastic
Is overeaters really better then bolstering?
@@nij1m_exe140 yes
@@nij1m_exe140yes for both bloodied and full health.
If you have a bloody build, what prefix is the best for power armor
I run food and drink reduction on my Union PA and SS armor. It saves the perk points and also allows you to have a different backpack mod. I use high capacity for more carry weight.
same, full health overeaters plus strength as 2nd star. everything else is too op and really not necessary
Isn't the backpack useless in PA?
@Valion yes you are right. Backpacks are only good out of PA
I love the ultracite armor's design and i can't even use my Overeater's set due to plans not even dropping for the legs.
i can make you some legs on pc
If you are on PC, I might have the plans or can make the legs for you if you want or just give you mine as I never use it?
And if u are on xbox I 100% have the leg plans
Thanks, I'm on PC and I'm looking for the calibrated shocks plans if anyone is selling them for caps lemme know.
I have 2 Legacy Power Armor sets . Excavator with Jet Pack and Ultracite with Jet Pack helmet . No I'm not on PC, beta player on Playstation .
Over Eater Secret Service FTW
Some time ago, I had two PA leg pieces with endurance bonus and it cost me a ton of lost junk several times (i'm not f1st). I don't know if the bug is fixed, but it had something to do with screen loading. If you have low health with rads, you die while fast travelling without any chance to respawn, as controls wont work. Probably because endurance kicked in after screen load and you had negative health on arrival. But it was fun to watch someone stealing so much junk he was unable to move.
For a long time I was using overeater's secret service in an explosive commando build.
Ended up farming and swapping to overeater's union power armor for a heavy gunner build, been using that since
Best and OP - Jet Pack Devilish Hellcat Helmet - I can take care of that treasure :D
Let's gooo get our shells sorted
SS/Union
The End
I've been playing for a while now and given how many events there are that reward improved repair kits. I've ended up with a stack of 300+ kits on me, no need to worry about repairing with how many kits you can get now.
Been running Secret Service Uny/AP/Ammo weight for vats commando and non-PA Vats heavy. Having a lot of fun with AA/Explo/25 heavies at the moment :)
I use Secret Service with 100% Chameleon, and third star Secret Agent...I'm pretty much invisible to everything. I have 100% Overeaters Union too, I've yet to mod the second and third star though.
I spent soooo many modules on outfitting all of my sets with Sentinel’s legendary effect 😞 Months of effort…
Thanks for the video, Turtle.
Same here
Same here 😢
I use overeaters, hardy and sentinel.
I have another secret service set unyielding +intelligence that i use to grind the scoreboard when they put weapons on it. And I'll be adding the new pa to my armor sets as well
Are the Sentinel and Cavaliers effects aslo broken on the pts?
Hi Angry, Iam just thinking what to do with my armors 🙏 Iam full health and first star is clear oe, third star is thrue hiker because sentinel is not working. But what to put as a 2nd star pls? Agility, strenght, powered or luck?? Help pls 🙏
I love civil engineer armor solely for the weapons break slower. I never went back after it came out and scrapped my unyielding SS armor with the new update.
Great video! I run SS unyielding, powered, wwr. T65 OE, Endurance, WWR
Secret Service armor, mostly vanguards I think, but I have a piece of weightless and 2 pieces of overeaters. Deep pocketed on all pieces. Shielded lining secret service underarmor. Hellcat power armor, one piece of overeaters, the rest is vanguards. I'm working on a t-65 set, but I don't have the mods I would like.
I use ss uny/end/fdc reduction along with packrat backpack. T65 OE/1 powered jetpack/4strength limbs/fdc reduction. Bloodied Heavy gunner comando build atm.
Union and ss/thorn/covert for me
Hey turtle any reason why you’re using jet pack instead of emergency protocols on Union?
I like flying ;)
Hey turtle, do you know how much damage resistence we can have cause i have the same un pa same as u, and i receive a lott of dame and EVEN IF A USE EMERGENCY P. AND I a have a Srt. H PA ONLY WITH EMERGENCY P. AND i remove all other perks cards and i'm getting way much less damage, i am a little confuse 😢
Like Gamera @@AngryTurtle
Why endurance and not AP regen for a tank build?
Does anybody know how much an instigating explosive durability - breaks 50% slower Fatman is worth now that the explosive prefix is working? I just found it and checked on fed 76 but it says it doesn't exist so I have no idea what it's worth if anything
Civil Eng unyielding, endurance, weapon weight reduction and union power armor overeaters, strength and weapon weight reduction with 2 chest pieces one with emergency protocols and other with a jetpack same legendary
Love the video turtle keep up the great work!
Secret Service with Overeaters and 1 piece to make me invisible. Power armour is Union Over eaters. For me.
Civil engineer is my go to outside of power armor. Armored backpack to boost the armor resistance to 400.
I don’t like the armour after going for ultra light and polymer I am constantly repairing it
So.. hardy is useless?
Is endurance on 2nd star worth it with new natural resistances perk?
Yes, and endurance also boosts you AP now when you have thirst quencher. So it's one of the most wanted 2nd stars you should want on your armor. It also boosts your immunity to diseases.
I will go luck +10, this will allow me to crit every other shot with all weapons without wasting my 4th legendary slot, it's coming gentlemen.
Doctor's might be a good alternative 3rd star on PA to get tankiness, combined with that auto-stim perk
T51 for me cause i'm just built different
What underarmor are you using Turtle?
How do you have 2 mods on your chest piece? As far as I know you can only have jetpack mod or another not two
couple years ago devs made a good bug allowing to install jet pack on head
@AngryTurtle I meant civil engineer or secret service? But is that bug still working or was it patched?
@ only one mod on my chest piece
@@AngryTurtle you have jetpack and buttressed
@ those are two different slots every armor works like that
I havent had much luck but i use Overeaters Forest Scout Armor on my main that i have gathered through the years from different characters that has weapon weight, Ammo and Food stuff reduction(i'm carrying tons of canned coffee 😝)
I want to use something else but i keep getting the same useless crap...
I’m still stuck between covert and thorn armor for stealth. Not sure which to pick
Same here 😂 what do you think?
@ covert does have slightly better stats, but thorn has the bleed effect. So I’m not exactly sure.
@ are you full health or bloodied? I switched month ago to full health… And point is that Iam still missing 1 leg of covert from daily ops😢
@ bloodied and same. Missing the right leg for covert.
@ exactly iam missing right leg 😂 Will the set bonus work with ur or forest scout armor? And what to put as a second star? Strenght, agility, luck or powered? First is for me clear oe and third are thrue hikers. And i have ss armor oe and ss uny and solar oe and strangle heart oe, union oe and t65 oe… But still dont know which 2 star mods to put there😢
I am currently running unyielding SS but I plan to switch to Thorn unyielding with +3 str on the third star
You mean +2 str because +3 is only on weapons
All the non pa sets I have taken a liking to civil worker set especially with weapon break perk for the set. PA union all the way thanks to being universal. The new pa may change my mind but we will have to see.
i run 3 characters. comando, melee and power armor. comando i run secret servise for both pve and pvp. melee i run thorns for pvp and pve. Power armor - union for pve and for pvp strangler heart and t-65. All builds are low hp for pve and full hp for pvp
Unyielding, Powered, WWR Ss set. This video got me thinking of changing my 2nd star to something else universal.
Legendary crafting hasn't been too good to me.
I am swayed by your Luck choice... running Union PA with Overeaters, Agility, and WWR. But yer Luck argument makes sense
Mixed armor with unyielding, because I couldn’t get into stealth. Felt like it did nothing for me in most events.
Set bonus armor are always cool
Ov ss and ov hellcat for me
I use the SSA and strangle heart power armor.
I have secret service armor with overeater strength and weapons weight reduction also Union PA same thing as well
Finally a reason to use my 43 2🌟 strength mods😂
I got stupid lucky by getting 4/5 overeats and one Auto stim for PA
It’s T-45 but maybe cause of how tanky I feel it’s currently my best PA build cause I haven’t been lucky enough to get it for the others yet
I run bloodied build with a full set powered sentinel unyielding secret service
Or, you could manage your inventory better and save the 3rd star slot and/or the perk cards for something actually beneficial.
I've never run ANY weight reduction perk cards or effects on my armor other than bandolier.
Instead, I just carry what I *actually* need.
(20 super stims, 10 radaway and about 5-10 each of my most used chems like berry mentats, overdrive, etc and about 10 each coffee and quantums)
I eat food directly out of my stash as I need it.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk😂
i would really like some SS paints.
I'm playing strictly with wooden armor and T-45, game is easy enough as it is
Full Health Chinese Stealth Commando (easy build) for the win. No mention of it in your armour display. Sad.
No legacy power armor helmet 😅 ?!?!
Heavy weapons/commando or gunslinger build with Full health Solar overeaters, union overeaters. Can do encrypted with or without power armor.
Uny 2End FWR ss and bolsteing ap fwr t65
🥇
Ackshually
Great update and advice as always, thanks Turtle!
Civil Engineer sucks
Oh look another unyielding player..zzzzzzzz
Ss imo is way better civil engineer really isn't worth getting though it's always preference to each player but honestly was 100% more worth the grind for ss armor still deciding on a 1st star not a bloodied fan and not going to use over eaters i try not to use to much food etc
