just got the inspiron 15 laptop with 16 GB of RAM for my gf as birthday present. Thx for the info here in this video. It's my 1st time using Windows 11 for sure. My main desktop PC is Windows 10.
Major problem with this computer is the 2.1GB of RAM reserved for hardware, i.e. the GPU. This leaves just 5.9 GB, which is not really enough to run Photoshop, which uses hardly any of the reserved RAM. A Dell technician could not change this, so would value your thoughts.
@@yusufhakimi1559 Hi Yusuf, I added an extra 8GB of RAM, which solved the problem, but the other RAM is not available and tends not to be used by the graphics processor.
Just what I was looking for thank-you. I got the same machine at work for a colleague and struggled as thought we had to use a Microsoft account. Still not got it finished as now it wants to verify a mobile number but the guy I am setting it up for is off site. Is there a way to go back so we don’t need to do the Microsoft account route which I wanted to avoid anyway?
Factory reset and then make sure you're not connected to a network. You'll then be prompted for a username etc. Just enter the real username and any password and it'll moan, but then allow you to create a local account.
@@FrimleyComputing thanks for the quick reply. how do you initiate a factory reset please? Currently it is sat in a loop of Microsoft asking for mobile verification code?
On Windows 11 you can switch to a local account from a Microsoft Account under "Settings" -- "Accounts" -- "Account Settings" and then expand the option and click on "Sign in with a local account instead".
Mine will not connect to my wifi network despite multiple attempts. I know it’s not the wifi because all my other devices are connected and performing fine. Any help?
Not too sure what you mean, but press & hold the power button (at least 5 seconds) until the laptop switches off fully, wait 10 seconds and then switch it back on again. If the issue persists then you should contact Dell Support. Hope that helps.
Hi, how are you? I'm an industrial design student and I use programs like sketchup, blender, and I like to play fortnite. What do you think of a dell inspiron 3515 with r7 3700u, would it be a good investment?
I'm not sure shifting the icons left makes it look like Windows 10 and it's always a personal preference. Some people don't get on with "change" and aren't as tech savvie as most so they like "familiarity" of knowing where things are I guess.

Hi Rey, If budget can stretch I would always go for a laptop with a dedicated GPU for gaming
Why do people always want it to look like the previous version. If you want to do that don’t bother upgrading.
