Different regions probably have their own versions of the story. Many stories and folktales were spread by word of mouth so it makes there would be many versions of the same story.
Back in the day, men wanted to marry. Even if they didn't have a sweetheart or betrothal, they really wanted to get married asap. Heir making, another pair of hands to work, companionship. Things like that.
Camera Kitty yeah, but the wedding was usually a cost split between the families. The dowry was used up for their startup, so the wedding itself had to be a separate cost.
Okay, as much as I love these stories, there's one thing about them that bugs me: there are so many of these stories featuring royalty being cursed, but the culprit is never caught. Sure, the spell is broken and they live happily ever after, but there's some serial hexer out there screwing with people, probably just for the Hell of it. They must be stopped! ;P
Archlord V it’s because these stories are hundred years old and peoples didn’t really cared about quality as long as they had fun with these. They made them up and told to their children then their chiltenntold to it’s children u know. We didn’t made these up in the modern world. They are older than everyone here
Probably because they're the same stories, but different versions or they are different stories that are intended to pass the same moral, thus they are pretty similar. Either way, it's a joy to watch.
Well if you're looking for a wife to start a family with, an old crone is conceivably the opposite of what you're looking for. However, the message also seems to be "don't judge a book by its cover", which is kind of the converse of "fear old women".
Been watching these none stop and two things that I found repeated: (1) prettiest/handsomest characters were always blonde hair blue eyed; (2) brothers and sisters would kill their own siblings out of jealousy.
It is Europe, they were not exposed to other races at that time. Plus, majority of the kids in Europe are blond, even though their parents may be brown/black haired, so it is considered youthful
Blonde hair and blue eyes are not only seen as a sign of natural beauty throughout all of European culture, but often times have much cultural and even spiritual contexts attached to them. So while in some stories it may be used as a sheer aesthetic preference, in many other contexts it can be used for very specific symbolic meanings including but not limited to purity, innocence, holiness, good genes/family background, containing the right attitude/spirit, righteousness, and being pure of heart. People of the past often weren't as jumpy about generalizations and stereotypes and would often use them intentionally to promote good and productive behaviours and deter and discourage bad ones. Which is a lot more useful and helpful, honestly, than making sure all hair and eye colors are represented in an arbitrary manner.
There are a lot of folktales featuring kind witches or fairies, but they're the characters that are essential to the plotline and give lessons to the story. One of which is being kind, and the main character is rewarded depending on how he or she acts. Should a character be rude or lazy, they are the ones often punished. I remember a story of wood cutters whose three children face an old man who asks to share some food. Oftentimes, the fae turns out to be magical and horrible accidents happen to those who refuse to help, while gifts are found after those with kindness are given directions on how to find it. More often than not, you'd have to work hard for the reward, but it'd be well worth it! ^^
I find it odd they bothered to animate, produce, translate, and localize so many identical stories. A (man/prince) and his two brothers wish to marry, the youngest is despondent cuz he has no sweetheart, but does for a walk and meets a (cat/frog/witch/fox) who gives him the prettiest bouquet, handkerchief, then the curse is broken and the cat/witch/frog becomes a beautiful princess and they marry.
Its better to have several chocolate cakes you can store and eat at later times, rather than only one chocolate cake that will only last a short amount of time. It's kind of shitty of that the two older brothers already had girlfriends, but that youngest one who didn't still felt the need to show them up and delay their marriages.
First. This is like the frog story. Second, if he doesn't have lover in the first place, why he insisted to be the first one to married? Poor of his elder brother who have lover but have to wait another year.

It is the princess from this folktale where she had to be a servant to 7 old women and had to clean 6 rooms and never open the 7th and then she got a bunch of gifts isnt she?

This is pussy cat princess mixed with the one of the frog princess
The father also ask for flower and handkerchief.
If he didn't have a sweetheart why was he competing with his brothers to get married in the first place ?!!!!!!
probably because the youngest kids feel the most entitled, it's like parents just give up after the second and the last becomes a bit of a brat.
First to marry usually means first to have an heir. Therefore he will inherit the old man's estate.
I see .. Thank you for explaining 😊

A little bit of Bartok shows up at 4:54, No. 3 Quasi Adagio from "For Children", Volume 1. It is wonderful with the timbres of the Kaláka band.
