The King (father of all princes) decides to put all the wives to a test to see which one should rule his kingdom alongside his sons. The monkey bride wins all these tests. How, you ask? The young prince who married her is surprised when she wins all the tasks and decides to spy on her at night when she takes off her monkey skin to do the chores around the house. I need to know the pussycat princess' back story. Why was she turned into a cat? What did she do? Who was she before she was cursed? These are important details.
I’m also wondering about the other cats, the ones that come out of the tree. Are they also cursed or normal cats? If so are they waiting to get married to a human? How did they get the flowers? Questions I need answered lol.
The part where the cat proposes to the prince is so cute and funny especially when she starts crying for him and he accepts due to it X3 I suppose the moral of the story is to not be always so sadden of the hand your dealt with since it can actually turn out better than you can imagine?
This reminds me of a French fairy tale I read called the white cat. An aging king tests his three sons on who is most worthy to be king. The first task is to find the smallest puppy in all the land. The sons go off and the youngest goes off in the forest and meets a white cat whom he befriends. The cat gives him the smallest dog so small it can fit in a hazel nut. Then the king asks for the finest muslin in all the land. The youngest goes into the woods meets the cat and cat give him the finest muslin. The final task is to find a bride. The naïve young prince goes to the forest and asks the cat for help. The cat says to find his bride he must cut off her head. The prince very hesistantly does so and she becomes a pretty princess. They move to his kingdom, get married and live happily ever after. The end.
Wait...so she could not turn back into a girl until someone asked her hand in Marriage right? But wasnt she the one that begged him to and wouldnt let him leave until he promised?
Yes of course she begged hi, I mean she didn't want to be a cat forever. But the curse did not say that the one asking for her hand has to be in love with her, I mean how would the prince fall in love with a cat? He just to ask for her hand and seriously mean it. Yes the prince technically didn't have a choice but it worked out at the end.
@@dreamercreations2499 At the start, the prince only said about how his DAD wants him to find a princess in the forest. It was only at the end, when the prince said that HE NEEDED a princess. So maybe only then the cat princess's curse was broken? Hence she couldn't turn back to princess until that scenario at the end.

Im an indian yet i did hear this exact tale! Tho the princess was a frog or something
The kitties are adorable. It's nice to hear a story where cats aren't evil.
How sweet and charming! My own cat is not a princess (at least not that I know of) but she certainly thinks she is.
I call shenanigans. No way he kept coming home without cat fur all over his clothes.
I am impressed the cat could fix these things so well!
See! This is what I wanted from the Fox Princess!!
that would make the ending gay and i would've fall for it omg
brah
I've watched this like 10 times I am not even kidding, love the music, the violin that plays when the pussycat princess comes on screen is lovely. And the music for the sound effects. Also the pussycat tears and the little meow. Omg I love this so much
In beginning poor her,she cried because he laughed at her or not hugging her.But good that he took her later
The snuggle is real :D
I'm so happy I found this channel! The art style is giving me nostalgic feelings, it really reminds me of old Polish cartoons.
I have been obsessed with Hungarian folk tales for the past week now, and I love the animation and narration so much!
The animation is unbelievably beautiful
"A Cat is Fine Too"
its so refreshing to watch something so positive and happy before sleep in such a disturbing dark world. You guys give me happiness if only for a moment. I can actually fall asleep like I did when I was a little kid.
Such a nice ending. Everybody goes home happy.
2:11 That is the face of a man who knows he has some explaining to do to his family
Moral of the story.
Go marry a cat.
Advice for life.
In the Finnish version the bride is a mouse and in the Russian version she is a frog :)
So that's who all these cat girls on discord are descended from
Moral of the story: don’t get married, just buy a cat!
(Side note: I also like how time actually passed before these two got married.)
Loll I am from Myanmar and this tale was also told in Myanmar version by my grandmother, it was slightly different but same
I’m an adult, why do I keep watching these????
Because you enjoy them? And as an adult you can do whatever you want? :D
Enjoy! :)
Because people never get to old for wonderful stories
I'm an adult and I watch them as bed time stories. They relax me and the animation is beautiful.
Whenever I visit my family and these tales are on tv I still watch them with my father. These stories are ageless....
This show comes on TV?
We have something similar in Lithuania, but instead of throwing them in the air they shot arrows and were told to retrieve them. Instead of a cat there is a swan, and the swan does all the work herself. Its a much longer story than this but its really fun to see something different
Ohhhh! Exactly! This is the version I remember!
Like Odette Swan princess
So cool i want see thst story too what was story's name ? :)
I’m from Ukraine and this is the story I remember!! There is even a Soviet cartoon about it
There are similarities between this tale & the Russian Fairytale the Frog Princess, except the Russian story doesn't end at the wedding. The prince has to do battle with the evil sorcerer who cursed the princess in order to keep his wife.
You can find the same story in The tale of a thousand and one night with similar plot :D folk tales are worldwide though.
LaBelleDame DuManor that’s sound badass af 10/10 would watch
@@tochan91 no, it is because russians stole everything what see. Even their popular mayrhoska is stolen Japanese forums, their balalayka is stolen Ukrainian bandura, and even now they are selling Ukrainian children
I'm 17 and I still like listening to these tales. It's really wonderful that they are not forgotten.

Talking Cat isnt normal

You never can tell if you're in a fairy tale. Natural born animals can speak as eloquently as humans transformed into animals pretty often.
I like that the older brothers weren't jealous or anything. So often the other siblings tend to have nasty intentions in stories such as this.
The eldest son's crown is bronze 🥉
the middle son's crown is silver 🥈 and the youngest son's crown is gold 🥇
Foreshadowing that the youngest son would have the best bride
The eldest son's crown is copper. In Hungarian folktales Copper, Silver, and Gold are very common. I have never seen bronze.
I've been bingeing your series, and I keep expecting a moral. Then I realized they are just stories, not fables. Still, great fun.
Old king:so who have you found
Youngest prince:so like I found this cat-
I've never heard someone laugh so terrifyingly
These cartoons have exactly the same vibes as old USSR cartoons but because i am unfaliliar with them they tend to seem so odd. Really males you wonder about how different yet similar people from different background are. And absolutely lovin these animations by the way.
Like Soyuzmultfilm!
I love these tales even If I'm a grown man.
Folk tales are for everyone!
I thought the prince was gonna become a cat
That would have been a far more interesting story.
That would have been like Shrek...
@@KKristof100 like Tiana’s story
I need to know the pussycat princess' back story. Why was she turned into a cat? What did she do? Who was she before she was cursed? These are important details.
There's a French version called "The White Cat" that goes into the cat's backstory.
@@SariaSchala Thank you! Going to look it up right now!
I’m also wondering about the other cats, the ones that come out of the tree. Are they also cursed or normal cats? If so are they waiting to get married to a human? How did they get the flowers? Questions I need answered lol.
The tree is the doorway to the cat kingdom.
The part where the cat proposes to the prince is so cute and funny especially when she starts crying for him and he accepts due to it X3
I suppose the moral of the story is to not be always so sadden of the hand your dealt with since it can actually turn out better than you can imagine?
And that's exactly what my Cat does when I'm having troubles, she just lays on my head as to say "lay down and take a rest"
I don't care how unrealistic it is. You just can't deny it is gorgeous. Well, I liked the story anyway
It’s amazing how I’m hooked on these folktales 😭😍
Lesson of the story? Never ignore cute kitty-cats, especially those with a lot of cattitude; one of them might be a beautiful princess!!!
The end.
It's probably because cultures mixed centuries ago in between neighbouring countries.
But cutting off head... It is mean to do that to a cat
Wow IT is really similar. IT can have some celtic origin. Or we exchange the story when Napóleon attack Russia. IT would be nice to know?
"I'm trying to go into the forest to find a human bride, but I'm dummy thick and the clap of my asscheeks keeps alerting this weird cat"
Ohh, my dear childhood, when I watched these tales everyday:"))))
These folk tales are fantastic. I love the ornementations and all illustrations are really wonderful. Wonderful job, congratulations.
So beautiful cats and back into princess
Hungarian: My sweet little fiancée
English: MY DEAR BETROTHED
I love this oldschool style of animation ❤
Hungarians make the best stories, I literally almost watched all of these videos!!!
@@ProtonCannon it said in the end that she could not turn back unless someone asked her hand in marriage. Think of how beauty and the beast works
@@1..0w0..3 makes good sense.
I just watched this and the one about the shape-shifting fox. What delightful tales! This was such a cute story! And the other reminded me of the fox spirit tales of East Asia that I did my college thesis on.
My mother's side of the family is Hungarian, and I am enjoying watching folk tales from my ancestors' country. Thank you for uploading these.

I just drew a 60page comic adaptation of the tyrolian version of this tale for my master thesis, so I was really happy to be able to watch another adaptation, since they're so rare !

I never would have expected to find a channel about our folk tales. Much less in english.
When I was little, I once loved my old cat so much, I keep wishing that he would turned human and marry me…
He died couple year’s later, it was there I learned that nothing in life is a fairy tale 😢
