- Getting around Pai is fairly easy on a motorbike. Pai is a small town and easy to walk but if you really want to get off the beaten path, renting a motorbike is a great way to do some exploring. Bike rentals start at 100 baht per day ($3.00). Ride through the hills, checkout the Stone Forest, waterfalls, elephants... Just make sure you fill up the gas tank ALL the way and as often as possible, those small motorbike gas tanks don't hold much. ;)

It's one thing renting a motor bike to get around.. but it's an entirely different story knowing "where" to go- Did you study a map? Or ask locals? Is it easy to communicate with say, the guest house owner?? Do they speak English? In your other vids, I see many signs in English.. broken English, but English... none the less. ☺

Thanks for sharing, you brought back some fond memories of when i travelled there in 2005.
I was on a motorcycle tour of the Golden Triangle and the infamous Mae Hong Son loop at the time and only planned to stay in Pai for one night.
Such a laid back place full of artists, musicians, poets etc, ... could not drag myself away.
Ended up spending a week there. :)
Visited again in 2008.
I plan to go again :)
BTW: if you like Pai you will also enjoy the island of Koh Chang just off the coast of Thailand/Cambodia.
Especially the southern part of island where the road ends.
Treehouse 1 is a Hippie haven, Treehouse 2 (further south) is even more so.
Many seasoned travellers spend summer on Koh Chang and then late season in Pai.
