  • ARCs are an important part of the book marketing process when your book is in pre-launch. Those 6-8 weeks prior to your book being available for sale, but when your book is done, allow for the distribution kinks to be ironed out for wide distribution, as well as give you time to distribute ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) to your potential reviewers.
    In this video, author and founder of Book Launchers, Julie Broad explains what is an ARC, when to use ARCs, and how to protect your book from being stolen when you distribution electronic ARCs to your book army and early reviewers.

    It’s crazy, but I had a viewer just asking what an ARC was. Since I didn’t have a brief video covering it, yours suited our needs. Big kudos, bestie!

    Super comments on "theft." I think it was Neil Gaiman who said, "Don't worry about pirating. Worry about obscurity." I think I need to find a couple dozen dishonest ARC readers now.

    PARCs
    (Pre Advanced Reader Copies) should be sent to good writing buddies for preview review and final edits.

    There's something else I need to get to thinking about for my current writing project. I've finished three chapters and the introduction and am sitting at just over 10,000 words. There are eight chapters to go! I think I'll smash my goal of 32,000 words.

      Kevin Maguire haha I don’t have the issue with kids per se. My biggest issue is making it a priority. At this pace, I should be done with my first draft in about 8-9 days. Then, comes my favorite part of things...editing. 🥴

    Are the ARC early reviews losing any of their potency as a result of Amazon's greater emphasis on "verified purchase" reviews?

    • @bigblue6917
      @bigblue6917 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting question. But then again how much emphasis would you put on them when you read articles about people gaming the system at Amazon, such as with Amazon Choice.

    • @michaelfacherty6722
      @michaelfacherty6722 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigblue6917 I didn't even know about this until I checked on a search engine. www.theguardian.com/money/2020/feb/06/amazon-choice-label-is-being-gamed-to-promote-poor-products

    • @BookLaunchers
      @BookLaunchers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well ARC reviews aren't just about Amazon but most people build their book army and ask them to buy when they set the book at .99 cents so it is a verified review and then they raise the price up afterwards for the public consumption.
