The Swiss Cellist Maja Weber of the Stradivari Quartett plays currently the 1717 Bonamy Dobree Stradivarius Cello criated by the master Stradivari from the B mold 757mm lenght. This instrument belonged first to the Italian-Portuguese Cellist Guilhermina Suggia, today in possession of Habisreutinger Foundation in loan to Maja Weber.
I am a retired pro violinist. I enjoyed such a wonderful performance in all aspects. I came back many times to listen to this perfect interpretation of Mozart's work.
After hearing them play the final Schubert Gmajor, I wanted to hear their approach to K 575 and I am satisfied that the Strad Quartet is in the same big league as quartets such as the Dover.
Beautiful! The 'Haydn' Quartets of Mozart do not exceed this! I am not a musician, but I remember the themes of the 3rd movement though I haven't heard them for 49 years!
