    Here in California ever city u travel , u got get a lic to work in that city but not all city’s . But sometimes u can get away from getting so many lic to work in the areas . I recommend u get a llc so u can get a biz credit build it so if anything ever goes wrong u can do bk on that and not mess up your personal credit and that way u have two lines of credit 👍🏻

    Even if you've no plans to hire anyone, you might want to speak to an accountant in regards to your status as as a sole-proprietor. I understand wanting to keep everything simple. That said, you could possibly be paying 20% more money in taxes at the very least. S-Corp status would be something you might want to look into. Not trying to get in your biz but as a sole proprietor, everything comes back to you personally. Love your videos man. All the best.

    • @benny7935
      @benny7935 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, you should be setting up a LLC or S-corp.
      1. You would be protecting your personal assets in the event you are sued.
      2. You can develop your business credit that will be different from your personal credit so your person credit score isn’t impacted.
      3. If you form a s-corp you can pay yourself a salary and write a bunch of deductions and save taxes..

    When I started my Car Wash and Detailing business, I wanted everything legal. I got my EIN, my business name is registered to the state, have my business van with insurance & all items inside insured too. I also have business insurance to cover myself & my customers. I have a website, on Facebook, Google & Nextdoor. It's also best to make a Terms and Conditions and have the customer sign the contract with a signature, date & year and give them a copy of it. Also give a receipt for what you charged them.

      @@dannys.auto.detailing_ Yes you still can get your EIN number separately, but don't tie it to your fictitious business name.
      Your EIN can be used alone for business banking & credit.
      If you tie it down to your fictitious business name or DBA you can be stuck with that name and let's say you want to start a different business with a different name now you have to get a new EIN too which is hard to do. the IRS only likes to give 1 EIN per person

    hey Danny, would you recommend a license and business insurance for someone who just purchased a van with the intent to just detail one or two cars every weekend or every other weekend? it’s just a side hustle that I don’t plan on expanding to a full time full blown business anytime soon. Thanks!

    • @dannys.auto.detailing_
      @dannys.auto.detailing_  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for messaging. Ultimately, that is a decision you have to make. But from things that I’ve heard from other professionals, if you’re doing such a low volume there probably isn’t a need to add those expenses to your list. Chances are if you make a small mistake you can work it out with the customer. I personally didn’t have a license for the first two years in. It didn’t affect me at all. But again, it’s just whatever you feel is right.

    Get an S-corp instead bro , you’ll save about 15 percent on taxes a year . After than get a business loan and buy yourself a van with the proper set up . Apply for a business credit card they are 12 months interest free . Use that to pay for the set up of the van . By doing your debt to income ratio doesn’t get affected because you are using the business credit not yours so you’ll look good for the creditors . Let’s talk bro if you want to go more ins depth . I respect your hustle keep grinding !

    Lol what happen to grow your business fast and big your still doing it halfway… Bro get an EIN and a LLC protect your assets. If you mess up a a car let’s say you do an engine detail and you ruined the customer is going to want you to pay for it. And let’s say your insurance will only cover for half of the price and they don’t want to cover the full amount for the engine or the whole car because maybe the car is not worth the engine price, then the customer can sue you for your assets. While you get an EIN and a LLC the customer can only use your company and not you.

    • @dannys.auto.detailing_

      Thanks for the feedback and you have a great point. For me I have started businesses in the past and I did all that upfront and I failed my business and it cost me money on the front end that way. This time I just built my business up slowly. And if it worked out, then I can move forward with licenses and things like that. I do have liability insurance so if I do make a mistake or someone gets hurt while I’m detailing, my insurance will cover those expenses. I hope that someday I can grow my business bigger, but I do toil with the idea of staying small and keeping it all. But for now, I am still small. I wish that I had more motivation and consistency when I was young, but I started this business after I started a family and a lot of my expenses and money go to my family and then also I really like spending time in the evenings with my kids. So I have to sacrifice sometimes putting an extra hours to make more money. It’s a double edge sword. Do you want to be a good present dad or do you wanna make a lot of money, but if you’re a good present, dad, you have no money and if you make a lot of money, you’re not a good present dad. Thanks for watching. Please keep watching and commenting whenever you want.
