The concert footage for this video was taken from the Houston and Dallas shows on that tour (Theater of Pain).. I was at the Houston show.. My Girlfriend worked at a local Radio station and got us backstage passes and Meet and Greet credentials for the show.. while backstage the video producer asked if she would like to be in the video.. of course she said yes.. so they staged beforehand for her to be carried off stage by security during one of the songs.. she's the girl in blue getting carried away at 3:14 in this reaction video.. at 2:18 in the original video.. the girl leaning up on the stage in the very next scene was also with us.. that's me (my arm) holding her back.. coincidentally, i ended up dating her a couple years later.. all the shots with the fans were staged ahead of time.. they were all VIP/Backstage pass holders etc.. lots of fun.. met the band that night.. and again on the Dr Feelgood Tour.. I was in a local cover band and a buddy of mine was a promoter/concierge to the stars... he always got us backstage passes and we backdoored all the concerts that came to houston for like 15 years.. partied with the bands sometimes.. I met my future wife at an after party.. good times..
I grew up with this stuff, but the irony of the fact that the lyrics are actually deep, juxtaposed with the content of the party style video that was released is never lost on me. I've told more than 1 person, and Motley is not my fave band at all, that if you think 80's bands didn't write about serious subjects, listen to Home Sweet Home by the Crue. It is their Stairway To Heaven. I'm happy for them and Def Leppard that the Stadium Tour they're currently on has been highly successful.
The birth of the 80's power ballad 😁1984 - '85, u got Dokken releasing the single 'Alone again'... Motley Crue releasing 'Home sweet home'... Scorpions released the single "Still loving you"... Journey releasing their single 'Faithfully' in '83... Suddenly, the music industry realized that this format was great w/ marketing rock bands to female audiences. So, from 1986 to '88, u got massive rock ballad singles coming from Bon Jovi ('Wanted dead or alive')... Europe ('Carrie')... Def Leppard ('Love bites')... Poison ('Every rose has its thorn')... Guns N' Roses ('Patience')... Cinderella ("Don't know what you got til its gone")... Winger ('Headed for a heartbreak' )... Whitesnake ('Is this love')... Warrant ('Heaven')... Tesla ('Little Suzi') ...Aerosmith ('Angel') ... White Lion ('When the children cry') ... etc. All scored platinum-plus records in the US thanks to MTV promoting music videos for those major ballads.
This is why I like watching reaction videos. Groups I don't care to listen to can have a song I really like and didn't know about until I watched a reaction video. Great Job.
Amazing song, amazing video. Motley Crue is a very underrated band. Except for maybe Axl Rose, Vince Neil has the best voice in rock. And Mick Mars is an incredible guitar player.
Hey, Javy: Thank you for your reactions :) - I hope you would react to a number of these old-time1970s songs by The Carpenters: Ticket to Ride; Help; And When He Smiles; Masquerade; A Song For You; Close to You; California Dreamin'; A Rainbow Connection; Breaking Up is Hard to do; I can't Smile Without You; I just Keep Falling In Love Again; Top of The World; Make Believe It's Your First Time; For All We Know; Only Yesterday; Yesterday Once More; I'll Never Fall In Love Again; A Place to Hideaway; Mr. Postman; All You Get from Love is a Love Song; I Need Some Time; Sing a Song; All of My Life; Bless the Beasts and Children; Calling Your Name Again; Goodbye to Love; Hurting Each Other; I Believe You; I Have You; I Need to Be in Love; I Won't Last a Day Without You; Jambalaya (On the Bayou); Sweet, Sweet Smile; There's a Kind of Hush; Those Good Old Dreams; Where Do I Go from Here; You. These are all good songs; plus, there are more :)
This is great while i watch her make weird faces listening to the music i make weird faces at her making weird faces-- maybe i should make that a video-- ??
REQUEST******** Can you react to Metallica “One” next. It’s one of their most famous songs. I would watch them perform it live though. The music video is too distracting for a first time listen. The song is incredible and powerful. Sums up Metallica very well and you don’t have much metal on here. Great video btw!!!
Great reaction video girl!!! It's a shame about Vince now. I went to the Stadium tour June 16th in Atlanta Georgia. He mumbled most of the words in the songs. He had a the lyrics displayed for him on a small screen facing him on the stage. He had prerecorded tracks that would play along with him singing. So we could hear him singing through the prerecorded tracks when he clearly wasn't singing on stage. I hate to say it but Motley Crue was a big disappointment at this concert. Tommy Lee had broken ribs and he only played a couple of the songs on the drums before he had someone take over for him. Honestly he shouldn't have even tried to play with broken ribs but he was trying to play for the fans. I totally understand about Tommy Lee and his broken ribs. But Vince had no excuse. It was like Vince wasn't even trying. Poison and Joan Jett were awesome. We left before Def Leppard took the stage cause we just couldn't take the poor performance of Vince 😔

This is the song that made my mom a huge, huge fan of theirs and especially of Tommy Lee and his drum playing.
Motley Crue ate legends!!!!

Wow I remember loving this video as a youngster and I can't believe how much Mick was dogged on this video. They barely showed him even on his solo.
When it came out, I was a punk rock/thrash metal kid... and I HATED these guys!!!
Over the years? YEAH.... 😎 Its an all time classic! 💯
