Nice video Angelo, thanks for all this info, it clarify some of my doubts however, still have a question that I cannot find anywhere, what are the disadvantages between ETF and Index funds. I know that both follow index, ETF are available at a lower price, and index funds are more tax efficient. But apart of that , Is there any extra risk in the etf in comparisson with the index funds? Thanks in advance.
Thank you Jose! In most countries in Europe, buying ETFs is the only option to buy an index. I don’t see any negatives, also safety wise, when you’re buying a UCITS ETF like the Vanguard FTSE All-World. Why would buying an ETF be less tax efficient? Maybe that’s country-specific. Either way, there is a lot of stuff we can over-analyze, just make sure not to get lost and to start investing (whichever way you choose) at some point :)
Thanks for your answer again Angelo! Probably the taxes thing is just in Spain then, I think that this mutual index funds are transpasables, so you can move your money between funds without getting taxed, with ETF doesnt work in this way, so you have to pay for passing from one to another one, as always the last ones in Europe in terms of encourage the people to invest...
Seems like it’s specific to Spain. Don’t worry, Austria is even worse - we even need to pay taxes on accumulating ETFs (without dividends) on a yearly basis, even without selling or having ‘realized’ a profit yet. And our dividend tax of 27,5% seems to be higher as well. So in comparison, Spain doesn’t seem too bad any more ;)
i use Etfmatic. I am from Croatia and Degiro does not "cover" my country. I use "cost average" method...and last 12 month around 23% + ( etfmatic have "slider", you can choose the risk range (65% bond, 35% stock..etc)
Many thanks for this very helpful video! I am not only new to ETFs but also new to investing and I cant wait to see more of your videos - keep them coming! Liked, saved and subscribed! All the best and good luck to all of us débutant investors!
Thanks for the review, I already knew about degiro and would like to buy accumulating etf in future. I'm all for custody account as I don't trust the idea of lending etfs xD
Good video to start with. Thank you. I personally use a Custody account for a 2-free ETF (accumulating) strategy, MSCI world and Emerging, and another Basic account for a 1-free ETF (distributing) strategy, USD treasuries. Asset allocation for a 15+ years duration and 35-ish year-old is 67% world, 8% emerging, 25% bonds
Hi Angelo, could you please make a video showing how to file taxes in Austria while using Degiro? You probably won't be able to go into detail, but just knowing where to find the information and getting to know the basic concepts would be great. I am also sure the content of this sort would have tons of views.
Hi Daniel, based on the small percentage of Austrians watching, it wouldn't be relevant for the vast majority (99%) of people. I would check out this page (German, you can use Google translate): www.broker-test.at/steuern/etf-steuern/ If it's something specific and the website didn't help, you can also send me an e-mail: p2pinvesting.eu/contact
Hello Angelo! do you use the "performance portfolio" to control your ETFs? If so will it be possible to make a video tutorial explaining how to do it? 🙂 Thank you and continue with your excellent videos!
Hi João! Not yet, but I will experiment with adding my ETFs to Portfolio Performance. Shouldn’t be too hard, as the software was designed primarily to track assets like stocks. Thank you!
@@AngeloColomboFi Yes, the program is designed for stoks but unfortunately I only find videos explaining in German. I and others would be happy if I do it in English. :)
I've added them in PP. The auto buy doesn't always match though so I have to manually correct that myself otherwise works great in PP. Defo recommend. PP vids are always cool. Cheers Don A.
Great video. I've just opened an account from the UK and I'm hoping the pathetic Brexit situation doesn't ruin the Degiro platform for UK investors. I've been investing in unit trust funds since 2005, but my Fidelity platform costs £10 per trade on ETFs - which isn't good for regular saver investors like myself.
Hallo Angelo, This was nice video to get to know more about degiro. Have you considered currency hedged or unhedged when buying ETFs? Would you advice something about investing directly in USD and the drawbacks/risk factors?
Nice to see Angelo - I know the costs won’t matter much unless the amounts get huge, however the SWRD all-world has annual fees of 0.12% while that vanguard one has 0.22%, with almost identical share spread and performance. As the all-worlds are all large cap companies, I bought some small cap all-world just yesterday called IUSN. current allocation: SWRD: 55%. IUSN 15%. VEUR 15%. EMIM 15%. All on DEGIRO basic
Thank you Paddy! You’re mixing up the MSCI World Index with the FTSE All-World Index, which includes Emerging Markets (China, India, South Korea..). The closest one from the MSCI Indexing ‘family’ is the MSCI ACWI. But I saw you have a separate Emerging Markets ETF in your portfolio, so you’ve got that covered anyway. I like the idea of adding a global Small Cap ETF at some point, like you’re doing.
Paddy can I ask, what was your reason to add that 15% allocation to VEUR in addition to allocation to European inside SWRD? Did you want extra exposure to the Europe specifically?
@@joscorcoran Yes, pretty much. Its the one that I'd drop if I had to pick one. if you search for the allocation by country for SWRD ( www.ssga.com/ie/en_gb/institutional/etfs/funds/spdr-msci-world-ucits-etf-sppw-gy ), or any developed world ETF, its 65% US, 7% JP, then CA, CH, AU, UK etc, EU countries in total are about 10%, equal to 4-5% of my portfolio, so I added VEUR, soon to be down at 10% of portfolio as I rebalance. Also, VEUR is 26% UK (making the UK about 5% of my portfolio across all ETFs, but all Large Cap).
I love your videos Angelo! Thank you for sharing all this information. I have a question: I want to buy the same All World ETF but I can't find a document that lists all the holdings. I can only find the top 10 of them. Do you know where I can see the rest 3500? Thanks again man!!
thank you, I'm very happy to hear that! You can find all the positions somewhere on Vanguard's homepage. In case you can't find it in English, here is where I found the list on the German site: www.de.vanguard/professionell/produktart/etf/aktien/9679/ftse-all-world-ucits-etf-usd-accumulating Scroll down to "Aufschlüsselung der Positionen" and click on "Exportieren" for the full list (as of Jan. 31st, 2021).
Hey Angelo! I love your videos and blog posts and I am following your content. My question some people say the most cost effective way to buy ETFs in Europe is ETFmatic! So what do you think is it good to us Degiro or Etfmatic ??
Hi Andishmand! ETFmatic is a Roboadvisor which buys the ETFs for you, depending on the strategy you choose. That's completely different (and always more expensive) than buying the same ETFs yourself, as you always pay fees for the service.
If you stick to 1-ETF strategy, which broker would you choose, Degiro or IBKR? They are both regulated in EU with the same amount, but considering I am making low trades (1 per month ETF) I am leaning more towards Degiro. Somehow Germany seems safer than Hungary. What do you think?
How's the accumulating fund reflect the accumulation? Does the ETF share price increase more than the distributing over time, do they give you more stock?
Thank you for this information which i was searching for! so immediately subscribed to your channel :) I recently opened a custody account with Degiro and would like to start with ETF. I am also from Austria and really need to check about taxes on these investments. Do you think it is better to go with an Austrian broker? if yes can you suggest any broker who can support in English. My German language skill is limited.
Thank you Karuna! Since you're based in Austria and we have quite complicated tax laws, I would save yourself the hassle and just go with Flatex, a local broker that takes care of taxes for you: p2p.yt/flatex Sadly they don't have an English interface, but I'll gladly help you with anything specific (that Google translate can't solve) if you send me an e-mail: p2pinv@gmail.com
@@AngeloColomboFi thanks. Please excuse my ignorance as I am so new to this. But the plan is to just keep purchasing every month and leave it on the Degiro exchange to accumulate? Going with VWCE & VUAA myself. thanks
I don't think you can open an account on Vanguard, but you can probably buy Vanguard ETFs using CapTrader (Interactive Brokers): th-cam.com/video/Od4VrplwB-8/w-d-xo.html
Hi Angelo. I also like degiro, they are just the best I could fund. Yep, I'm with one of the ETFs with no transaction fees :) There is just one detail and it's that the reporting has still some place to improve. At the same time, for such (very) low costs we can't complain :)
Hi Omar, thanks for sharing! True, regarding costs for what they offer they are the best option I could find and saving 5-8€ whenever buying shares can really add up over time. I agree, the reporting could be better, hopefully that will be improved.
Hi Angelo I like your channel very much, you explained alot of things in just few videos i watched, i have one question for you and i hope you can answer, curently i live Norway and i am planning to open a Degiro or IE brokers acc to invest in ETF's but in few years plan is to leave Norway and move elsewhere in Europe, question is can i still fund my old acc using diferent bank, credit card and curency from NOK to Euro. ?
Thanks for this great video. Helped a lot. One question, how does Flatex does with your taxation, do you have to do anything at all? I am asking that because I live in austria, but im not from here. So Im a bit afraid on how to deal with it here.
If you opened an account on Flatex.at as an Austrian resident, it's very likely they're withdrawing Austrian taxes. If you're a tax resident somewhere else I would reach out to them, as you have to tax them in your own country instead.
Hey thanks for the great info. I am from Switzerland and to buy the same ETFs that you mentioned, should I buy in swiss exchange or euro/usd. How does it work in Degiro? I did see several funds with the same ID and different currency. please advice.
My pleasure! Since Degiro doesn't take care of the taxation for you, you then need to tax capital gains / dividends in whatever new country you're a resident in. You should probably also contact the broker (eg. Degiro) to change your address in the system. Just make sure you understand how the tax system works in whatever country you live in.
Nice video! I started investing in etfs almost 2 months ago. My plan is to invest €500 per month in the all world vanguard and the following month buy the s&p 500. What do you think about the s&p 500? Maybe a bit more risk, but I also heard it has better returns.
Can I invest on ETF in Spain and how will be the Tax on Return/Gain? Do I need to consult with my lawyer? Also do I need to submit any declaration to Spanish Authority of my financial status? I will be happy If you provide me with a suggestion. Thanks !!
Hey Angino, thanks for your video. Why you don’t invest to vanguard ETF directly from their website? Have you looked at their fees and made your decision? Thanks
Hi Miguel, yes my Vanguard FTSE All-World pays dividends quarterly, which I reinvest into more shares. Stocks are a different asset class, if you look at charts right now, most indexes are down 30% this year. Nonetheless, I'm confident they'll recover and I'm expecting around 7% returns per year on average long-term (with lots of ups and downs).
@@AngeloColomboFi I understand it depends on the amount of shares you own, but you need a quite big amount of shares to earn enough dividends to buy one whole share right? Suppose each share costs 80€. To earn that amount in dividends you must invest a considerable amount right? Sorry for being "noob" :)
@@bramadao that's true, unless your broker allows you to buy fractional shares (parts of a share) as well. Otherwise I just add the dividend money towards my next purchase. No worries, there are no stupid questions :)
Thanks for the video! Isn't risky to have only one ETF to get exposure to the stock market? I'm thinking about having one world ETF wich is diversified in the market, but the compnay that runs the ETF could go bankrupt or something similar? Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the vdeo, very educational. I do wonder though... I live in Austria now as an expat. I am planning to put some of my savigs into accumulative ETFs on degiro, as a long-term investment (5 years+) You mentioned the complex taxation in Austria when it comes to investing. When I cash out from degiro (who knows when, could be in 2 years or in 40 years), will I pay income tax after the profit I made? If so, how much? Also, will I need to manage this? (report it to the tax authrity, paperwork, bureaucracy, etc) or will this be automatically managed by degiro? And with dividend ETFs on degiro, in Austria... Does the 27.5 % dividend tax get subtracted from the quarterly dividend automaticaly by degiro? If degiro does not manage this, will I need to indicate the dividends paid out to me in the previous year on my tax return? Thanks!
Thanks for great content. Will you pls give us a brokerage account comparison for long term investment we can use in EU? there are many apps available but with various cost and hidden fees like currency exchange high rates in Revolut or monthly fee Interactive Brokerage ... and what do you think about Degiro app safety as its not yet public?
Hi , first time watching your video and i liked it a lot. A question i have is: cant we put money monthly on the ETF, instead of buying its shares? I had a strategy to put an initial amount of 3k and reinforce it with 200 monthly, cant i do that in these ETFs? Thanks
Thank you Miguel! I'm not sure I get your question - you're putting your money into the ETF by buying shares (small units of it). Sure you can! Since you can only buy full shares (with rare exceptions on some brokers), you won't be able to buy exactly 3k or 200€/month, but something close to it.
@@AngeloColomboFi ohh ok, i thought i could put a specific amount each month. So basically i buy Share(s) enough to be 200€ in my case right? Example, if each is 100€ i buy 2 each month?
Thank you Angelo. Your video is very useful for me and I am waiting for my Degiro account to start investing. I see that there are three bond ETFs in Degiro, two of them are EUR based with less than 2% return and vangurd usdtrbond. Usdtrbond is performing well under this crisis situation but of course will have the currency exchange risk. Which one do you recommend to balance my portfolio?
Hello, I'm from Portugal and I was looking to start investing just a little to start (100€), can you give me some recommendations ? Is it better to start with dividends ETFs or P2P ? What is the best option for me ? Brokers for me are the same for you, Europe, so degiro is good or eToro... What do u think might be the best between the two?
Hi Rui, I think the most important step is simply starting to get into the habit of saving and investing on a regular basis, to grow your wealth long-term. While I can’t give you financial advice, for P2P lending, I think Mintos is a good, diversified start for a small portfolio and for ETFs I think the Vanguard FTSE All-World from the Free ETF list on Degiro is a good option. Pay attention with Etoro, I think they have pretty high withdrawal fees, while Degiro has none. While it’s completely up to you, in my opinion you can’t go wrong by starting with either ETFs or P2P and then adding the other one the next time you want to invest some money.
@@AngeloColomboFi Thanks a lot for the advice man... My plan is to start with 100€ and then keep deposing more money when I can... I'll keep looking your videos and learn more about it all. Keep posting man :DDD
Hi Rui. I'm also from Portugal and i have a doubt that i don't know if you can help me: Degiro app does "retenção na fonte" or we have to declare these operations on IRS? Thanks in advance
Thanks Ania! Sadly as far as I know there is no such setting (yet). Maybe that changes soon though, since the German broker Flatex bought Degiro (and they have that option on Flatex).
@@AngeloColomboFi Actually, I found out that in the meantime - you need to buy accumulating instead of distributing ETFs and your dividends get reinvested automatically. No additional settings needed :)
@@goul82 I went for VANGUARD FTSE ALL-WORLD U.ETF and VANGUARD FTSE EM.MARKETS U.ETF . But you must check how different ETFs are taxed in the country where you live depending on where they are domiciled, and so on.
Thanks for explaining the taxation process. I'm in Germany, so for example, if I want to pull out 100 000E I would need to pay what percentage on that sum? and what are the dividences?
ok so question: I get like 80cents dividend, I have 40 ETF (All-world vanguard)..what do i do? I just close them all, and reinvest those profits? I mean i have some POTENTIAL profits on them now (87 > 107 now) but obviously i need to sell first...whats the best tactic?
Liked your video, great content. I'm from Europe and I have to decide what currency should I use for ETF's which have most of their/all holdings in US. Great video, thanks a lot Angelo!!! I moved to Austria and wanted to start investing in ETF. However, the taxation and the language barrier are blocking me to start on flatex. As far as I understood, one gets taxed on dividends, so this would mean that one does not hake to declare cumulative etf at all?
Hi Luigi, it's sadly a lot more complicated than that :/ I would still go with Flatex unless you're willing to spend a lot of time figuring out the Austrian tax system surrounding funds.
Please can you advice me? How do stamp duty and financial transaction tax work? If I buy a British company also listed at London Stock Exchange, but I buy it through Deutsche Borse Xetra in Germany do I have to pay stamp duty? Degiro materials reads it depends where it's listed but company shares can be listed at multiple stock exchanges. If I want to avoid stamp duty all I have to do is to trade a stock at Euronext Amsterdam or Deutsche Borse XETRA?
Hello, great video btw and thank you. I have a question about the degiro free etf purchases every month. It says that regardless the size that it will be free of charge ( for example, if i buy only one share of the ETF , it will still be free of charge except the share price right?) Also, im becoming 18 next month and i currently dont have a lot of money. What amount do you recommend to start with? Ive heard people say that i should save for some months and then start, but why is that when i could just start with 1 share and then keep saving every time that i can? If im not correct, What amount do you recommend starting with? 300? 500? or even when i get to 1000? Thank you!
Hi Zapp, you are very welcome! Damn, I wish I would have started investing at your age :) I can't give you investment advice, so just invest whatever feels the most comfortable to you. Yes, you can even start with just one ETF share every month. It's still free if it's on Degiro's list: www.degiro.ie/data/pdf/ie/commission-free-etfs-list.pdf Just make sure you use the exchange that's listed next to it.
Question is my brokerage takes a minimum of 10 EUR for ETF or a 0.1% fee if higher. This works for both buying and selling. So technically, would you say it only makes to invest in ETF if you have e more than EUR 10,000 for the fee to make sense? If you invest lower, then it’s not worth it due to the fees. 10,00 is too much too to invest which is putting me off.
Hello new subbie here. Why do you invest in ETFs nt index funds? Also if one wants to buy index funds can they also use degiro? Im in france by the way
My question is (as my plan is do exactly this, invest around 10ke into 3-4 ETFs for the next 10-15 years) : do I need to 'look' at it from time to time or I can just leave it ? And if yes, then how often, every 3 or 6 months, or every year ? To me the less the better
Hi Eric, if you believe in your choice of ETFs long-term, then there is no need to check the brokerage accounts more than once/year in my opinion. Of course it's up to you if you want to rebalance between them based on a certain percentage you want in your portfolio etc.
Hello Angelo. Great insights! Could you share the average interest rate from ETFs? Is it higher/lower than P2P or similar? And, in terms of horizon (short/long) how easy is it to retrieve money back? I'm more focused on short-term, max 2 years, as need to buy a property. THANKS from Sweden :)
What about average trading volumes of european ETFs? They are much smaller than usual american. Do you see a problem in comparable low trading volumes?
Hi Angelo, I like vidios and I realy preciate your power I want to ask you ?I have a basic acount in Degiro but I want to change it from basic to active acount is it a good idea or a risky ?
Hello @Angelo, do follow 2 different strategies in flatex and degiro? My goal is that the broker does the taxation for me, but if I compare fees in flatex vs. degiro, does not make sense to open account with flatex at all, they are expensive.. Why would you have both flatex & degiro? You also said you are tax advisor in Austria, do you have your own company? Thanks for your videos,
Hi Rut, no I follow the same strategy everywhere (Vanguard FTSE All-World Accumulating). Flatex is great for a savings plan (eg. monthly automated purchases of a fixed amount). There each ETF purchase costs only 1,5€, no matter how high the amount. You can set these up for either the 1st or 15th of the month and stop them anytime. For direct, instant purchases Degiro is cheaper. I'm not a tax advisor, I just do my own taxes every year since I am self-employed, sometimes reaching out to an advisor for help. My pleasure!
Hi Angelo, thank you very much for your video, I have started to investigate where to put my savings and I am convinced ETFs are for me. I have a question that probably is a silly one, is not possible to buy the ETFs directly on Vanguard?
i live in luxembourg and aparently degiro is not avalable for my country... isthis normal or can i aovid this someway? Thanks for the video it is great
Thank you! You could look at Interactive Brokers then: p2p.yt/interactive You can find some more info in this video: th-cam.com/video/_Dpv7fE1OJA/w-d-xo.html
I'm a beginner in trading ETF's. I haven't started yet. But you blew my mind with this auto reinvested Dividends ETF. I live in a country where Capital gain tax is 33% and I'm planning on a growth strategy rather than a dividend strategy anyway. Does that mean you can live and work in a high tax country (with a good salary) and pay nothing in taxes for your auto reinvested dividends ETF? Then when you reach your target, you can live in a low capital gain country and live off the growth (and preparing also for market dips) ?
It depends on the country, so I would make sure to check local tax laws. Some countries tax part of the (unrealized) profits of accumulating ETFs as well on a yearly basis. But generally, they still tend to be more tax-efficient.
Thank you Angelo for videos. Could you please tell about dividends that we get on Monetary Fund? As I understood, dividends were taken by Funds and invested. What are the issues if they invest it with negatif interest rate? do they charge additionally something for investing taking these dividends or it's just lost dividends taken by Fund?
Hi Angelo, I am very confused as how do european etfs value works as the trading hours of the european markets are different to the trading hour of the underlying stocks of the etf (s&p 500, for example). Could you clarify this for me?

Thank U for your video I am starting to invest in Degiro and this one is very helpful.
I'm happy to hear that!
Thanks for the review, I already knew about degiro and would like to buy accumulating etf in future. I'm all for custody account as I don't trust the idea of lending etfs xD
My pleasure, Usama! Luckily, with an accumulating ETF the choice (custody) is simple :)
Great video Angelo, thanks ... I would to see more of this ETFs subject in your next videos, please. Amazing work
Thank you Marco, I’m very happy to hear that! I’ll definitely create more content on stocks & ETFs - thank you for the feedback, always appreciated.
Great video! I'm new to investing in general and your video is a great explanation for beginners .

@@AngeloColomboFi Do you invest in cryptocurrency as well?
Yes, I have around 10% of my portfolio in Bitcoin & Ethereum, which I bought in 2017.
@@AngeloColomboFi Do you use Degiro as well to trade crypto?
No, I use specialized exchanges for that. Here are the three I trust: p2pinvesting.eu/investor-toolkit/#cryptocurrencies

Good video man!
Thanks Matt! Need to have a talk again soon, it has been way too long!
Hi Manuele, thank you for sharing! I like your allocation, even though you might have made a mistake with the percentages (104%) ;)
Ops! Edited, sorry
Hi Angelo, helpful content thx.. would be great to see more video about ETF
Hi Angelo,
could you please make a video showing how to file taxes in Austria while using Degiro? You probably won't be able to go into detail, but just knowing where to find the information and getting to know the basic concepts would be great. I am also sure the content of this sort would have tons of views.
Hi Daniel, based on the small percentage of Austrians watching, it wouldn't be relevant for the vast majority (99%) of people. I would check out this page (German, you can use Google translate): www.broker-test.at/steuern/etf-steuern/
If it's something specific and the website didn't help, you can also send me an e-mail: p2pinvesting.eu/contact
I would be also interested in such a video.
Hello Angelo!
do you use the "performance portfolio" to control your ETFs? If so will it be possible to make a video tutorial explaining how to do it? 🙂
Thank you and continue with your excellent videos!

Hi! How do you invest as a couple? Is there a possibility for joint account or do you both have your own accounts?
You can use a single account
@@paddydowney6269 Many thanks, that makes sense. I appreciate your feedback.
In case you can't find it in English, here is where I found the list on the German site: www.de.vanguard/professionell/produktart/etf/aktien/9679/ftse-all-world-ucits-etf-usd-accumulating

Great video!
That's completely different (and always more expensive) than buying the same ETFs yourself, as you always pay fees for the service.
great video thanks
Thanks Michal!
Great Vid!
Thank you very much for the info!!
My pleasure!
Very good video ,Thanks
Great content!
new subscriber here!
is it better to invest all your funds in one great index fund (like sp500 for example) or to diversify with some other?
I think diversity is key.
I like to invest in just a few etfs which pretty much cover the whole world.
Also a bit of crypto
Thank you for this information which i was searching for! so immediately subscribed to your channel :) I recently opened a custody account with Degiro and would like to start with ETF. I am also from Austria and really need to check about taxes on these investments. Do you think it is better to go with an Austrian broker? if yes can you suggest any broker who can support in English. My German language skill is limited.
Thank you Karuna! Since you're based in Austria and we have quite complicated tax laws, I would save yourself the hassle and just go with Flatex, a local broker that takes care of taxes for you: p2p.yt/flatex
Sadly they don't have an English interface, but I'll gladly help you with anything specific (that Google translate can't solve) if you send me an e-mail: p2pinv@gmail.com
Really helpful information thank you. Question on the on the Vanguard FTSE, is it an accumulative ETF?
My pleasure! Yes, the Vanguard FTSE All-World (VWCE) is an accumulating ETF. There is also a distributing version though (VWRL).
@@AngeloColomboFi thanks. Please excuse my ignorance as I am so new to this. But the plan is to just keep purchasing every month and leave it on the Degiro exchange to accumulate?
Going with VWCE & VUAA myself. thanks
hi . im from algeria . can i open an account in vanguard ?
I don't think you can open an account on Vanguard, but you can probably buy Vanguard ETFs using CapTrader (Interactive Brokers): th-cam.com/video/Od4VrplwB-8/w-d-xo.html
Hi. Why do you prefer ftse all-world (VWCE) over msci acwi?
New to ETF investing
Hey thanks for the great info. I am from Switzerland and to buy the same ETFs that you mentioned, should I buy in swiss exchange or euro/usd. How does it work in Degiro? I did see several funds with the same ID and different currency. please advice.
Good question
Thank you so much for the valuable information!
I have a question: what happens to your investments if you move to another country?
My pleasure! Since Degiro doesn't take care of the taxation for you, you then need to tax capital gains / dividends in whatever new country you're a resident in. You should probably also contact the broker (eg. Degiro) to change your address in the system. Just make sure you understand how the tax system works in whatever country you live in.
Nice video!
I started investing in etfs almost 2 months ago. My plan is to invest €500 per month in the all world vanguard and the following month buy the s&p 500.
What do you think about the s&p 500?
Maybe a bit more risk, but I also heard it has better returns.
You should invest in stock it gives nice returns at better rate
Can I invest on ETF in Spain and how will be the Tax on Return/Gain?
Do I need to consult with my lawyer? Also do I need to submit any declaration to Spanish Authority of my financial status?
I will be happy If you provide me with a suggestion. Thanks !!
Hey Angino, thanks for your video. Why you don’t invest to vanguard ETF directly from their website? Have you looked at their fees and made your decision? Thanks
Hi Angelo, is your favourite ETF a dividend paying ETF and do you reinvest the dividends? Does it compound like P2P or better?
@@AngeloColomboFi Thank you for your feedback :) does Degiro allow to fraction shares?
Thanks for the video! Isn't risky to have only one ETF to get exposure to the stock market? I'm thinking about having one world ETF wich is diversified in the market, but the compnay that runs the ETF could go bankrupt or something similar?
Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the vdeo, very educational.
I do wonder though...
I live in Austria now as an expat. I am planning to put some of my savigs into accumulative ETFs on degiro, as a long-term investment (5 years+)
You mentioned the complex taxation in Austria when it comes to investing.
Thanks!
What does the custody account do? Besides making you pay more fees?
Yes, exactly :) And if the shares are 80€ each, you could for example buy 160€ one month and 240€ the next.
My pleasure Rui! Will do :)
Hi Rui. I'm also from Portugal and i have a doubt that i don't know if you can help me: Degiro app does "retenção na fonte" or we have to declare these operations on IRS?
Thanks in advance
Hi Angelo, great video! Do you know if there's a setting in Degiro that I can use to have my dividends reinvested automatically?
Thanks Ania! Sadly as far as I know there is no such setting (yet). Maybe that changes soon though, since the German broker Flatex bought Degiro (and they have that option on Flatex).
@@AngeloColomboFi Actually, I found out that in the meantime - you need to buy accumulating instead of distributing ETFs and your dividends get reinvested automatically. No additional settings needed :)
@@gaja3331 Any examples of these ETFs??
@@goul82 I went for VANGUARD FTSE ALL-WORLD U.ETF and VANGUARD FTSE EM.MARKETS U.ETF
Degiro has a very long registration queue right now. Do you have an alternative?
And what do you think of investing in CDs/ Treasure Bills?
Wait it out, my friends were in the queue and got in a few months later
Liked your video, great content. I'm from Europe and I have to decide what currency should I use for ETF's which have most of their/all holdings in US. Let's take the example you provided in the video.
The base curency for Vanguard all world index fund (VWRL) is USD. Since most of the holdings are US do you know if there are any taxes on exchange from EUR/USD and USD/EUR when using VGWL which has a EUR currency?

I moved to Austria and wanted to start investing in ETF. However, the taxation and the language barrier are blocking me to start on flatex. As far as I understood, one gets taxed on dividends, so this would mean that one does not hake to declare cumulative etf at all?
Hi Luigi, it's sadly a lot more complicated than that :/
I would still go with Flatex unless you're willing to spend a lot of time figuring out the Austrian tax system surrounding funds.
Does it matter which "EUR" / europe exchange i choose to buy ETF ?
Hello, great video btw and thank you.
I have a question about the degiro free etf purchases every month. It says that regardless the size that it will be free of charge ( for example, if i buy only one share of the ETF , it will still be free of charge except the share price right?)
Also, im becoming 18 next month and i currently dont have a lot of money.
Damn, I wish I would have started investing at your age :)
I can't give you investment advice, so just invest whatever feels the most comfortable to you. Yes, you can even start with just one ETF share every month. It's still free if it's on Degiro's list: www.degiro.ie/data/pdf/ie/commission-free-etfs-list.pdf
Just make sure you use the exchange that's listed next to it.
What do you say about Trading 212? it's the cheapest variant in Romania

If you are living in Italy. Can you change Italia to English setting for DEGIRO? Because my Italia is not that good(as an immigrant)

Hi Angelo,
I like vidios and I realy preciate your power I want to ask you ?I have a basic acount in Degiro but I want to change it from basic to active acount is it a good idea or a risky ?
Hi Mohammed, an option is opening another account (custody) and transferring your funds there. I don’t think you can switch the account type itself.

Is there any difference between a standard american ETF (e.g. VOO) and the UCITS version (e.g VUSD) ?
Degiro is so similar to WeBull, are they the same company ? (like ThinkOrSwim and E trade for example ?)
Btw how do you get the return? Can you transfer it to your debit?
Hi Angelo, I am very confused as how do european etfs value works as the trading hours of the european markets are different to the trading hour of the underlying stocks of the etf (s&p 500, for example). Could you clarify this for me?
