But recently I re-discovered an interest and what a time to re-discover that interest as watching this leg and match tonight was incredible!! I'm still full of adrenaline and excitement and I was just watching it on TV! Really, truly incredible leg of darts. Congratulations to Michael Smith 🎉🎉
The way they were both scoring, it felt like a 9 darter was possible but definitely didn’t expect it like this. This is what live sport is all about, moments like these. Pure theatre, pure drama. As they said in commentary, we could watch darts for the next 50 years and not see this again. What a final, kudos to both players.
Its the hardest and best and most wonderful 9 darter ever. And Wayne Mardle couldnt commentated it any more beautiful. I will watch this in 50 years still. One of the greatest tv sports moment ever.
I feel like even if MVG hit, there should be a rule that if both players are on a 9 darter and the first thrower gets it, the second still gets his throw and if he gets it both are awarded a leg just to see two 9 darters in the same leg.

It was half time in the football match over on the main event channel and they mentioned the WC was on at the same time so i decided to flip over and have a look as I'd never watched live darts before and that was 5 minutes before this happened and I am SO glad I turned it over and watched the rest of the match, it was incredibly entertaining!
Watched this more times than I’m willing to admit. Although I’ll forever be devastated I missed being in the crowd, the crowd never got to experience the commentary we did at home. Surreal

Not a darts person but that was spectacular. The first 6 darts being perfect, the crowd roaring along, the double 12 miss and then Smith cooly slams it home. Live sport man, can't beat it.
I think Mardle just had his commentating "moment". That has to be up there with Sid's "I can't believe my goggling bins", and Pyke's "pure darts". Just incredible from Smith and MVG, the crowd and Mardle and Pyke's commentary made the greatest leg ever even better
Outstanding commentary wasn't it, I've watched this 3x back to back and I don't often watch the darts. This did feel like one of those pieces of footage that will be played for years and years to come... and the commentary is a monstrously big part of that.
