Really nice platform. I might be interested in buying one of these. There are a couple of things that bother me about the plane’s motion vs the platform’s motion. For example when the plane rolls to the left, the rolling motion of the platform should be to the right. The simplest example is a barrel roll. You roll to the left, you feel the right side of the chair pushing into you. This can be simulated by rolling the platform to the right, this way, as long as you remain in the roll, you keep feeling this force. In a turn, like you do in the race, the rolling of the platform should be initially to the right, to get the right side of the seat pushing into you, then after the turn is established, let’s say it’s a rate 1 turn, the platform should be in a neutral position. So it should slowly roll back to its neutral position.
I have a small motion rig, and it behaves like described and the feeling is 100% convincing, also confirmed by a PPL. Most platforms, including yours, seem to roll left when the planes rolls left, but this is not correct. In an actual plane, you never have the sensation of falling to your left whe the plane rolls left. You always have this “the plane is pushing into my right side” feeling.
I guess that is just a software issue though. Is this something that would be easily tunable?
