Yep. He helped do the play by play of this this game and he was even introduced as the head coach of Indiana.
Strange enough, coaches sometimes did commentary for other games back in those days. Joe Paterno gave the color analysis during the Michigan/Ohio State game in 1974.
You could tell during this game that Corso hated complimenting Anthony Carter since he was still smarting from that game in Ann Arbor 2 years earlier.

We should still be wearing the maize-colored pants.

We get a dose of the old school here with Ray Scott and Howard David, though Corso continues working as a caricature on ESPN. Ray Scott was a lead broadcast guy on CBS, and I remember "Computer Kickoff," a syndicated radio segment he did where a computer assessed the weekly NFL schedule.

The Bluebonnet Bowl discontinued following the 1987 game, since then there was the Houston Bowl from 2000 until 2005, and now the Texas Bowl which is technically a seperate bowl game. Hope that helped you out. =)

Congratulations. In 11 meetings against Michigan, UCLA has won 3.
3 out of 11. That's nothing to brag about.

Yeah, I know. And the one that was more memorable to me was in 1982 when UCLA went to "The Big House" and spanked the Wolverines with Superstar Wide Receiver Dokie Williams.

No, they were good in the 80's. They averaged nearly 9 wins a season.

OMG I actually remember watching this very game when I was 9 years old. If memory serves me right, on the last game of the season was the annual Ohio State and Michigan game and the winner would be Big Ten Champs and go to the Rose bowl and unfortunately Ohio State win. But what a let down being one game away from the conference champs and a rose bowl berth then bam the frigging Blue Bonnet bowl, lol some consolation prize!

@Poole1Dan Uh I saw you play at home against Oregon in 2007, it wasnt very pretty...sure didnt seem like ownership of the pac10 to me! And the following season after this game, UCLA went into Michigan and beat them 31-27, then had a rematch in the rose bowl and won again 24-14. 2 UCLA wins over Michigan in the span of 4 months LOL.

UCLA Football set the NCAA record for Most Consecutive Bowl Wins on New Year's Day back in the 1980's. How could you say that UCLA Football sucked in the 1980's?

  • @generalbullmoose

Bo's worst coaching job. Michigan was consensus #1 at the start of the season, and ended it 8-3. Should have been an undefeated, national championship season.
Ali Haji-Sheikh, aka: Kareem Abdul Choke.

generalbullmoose Harbaugh would have pissed away the #1 ranking too.

The year before Michigan went 10-2 and won the Rose Bowl. The QB was John Wangler. He graduated. Michigan was voted preseason #1 with a sophomore QB Steve Smith just getting his feet wet. They lost the opening game to Wisconsin 14-21. Also lost to Iowa 7-9 as the offense could not generate enough points under Smith. Had Wangler had one more season they might well have made a run at the title.

that shirt Bo was wearing has to be one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. That shade of yellow is awful, and it looks like it was all polyester. That sucker must have been uncomfortable.
