My first DVD as a kid was NFL Films History of the Super Bowl. It covered the all the games all the way up to SB 39 or 40 maybe. Made me fall in love with football. This one took me back to that same feeling. Thanks to whoever took the time to put this together.
hey i have that DVD as well. Yes went up to 40 Pittsburgh v Seattle. NFL Films used to be really really really good. Now its still good but its not what it used to be. Look at the cinematography
This is my NFL. I don't even watch football anymore. But this era of football will be dear to my heart and always apart of me. This era was littered with HOF QBs... today, most team's starting QBs would be lucky to be a back ups on some of the teams from the 80s.
Im 2000s kid who is 17 years old. This era of sports is my favorite and i wish I could go back to experience it. I still watch these old games because the old heads had passion unlike todays era
I always say this to my younger friends who are Gen Z. 90s and even 00s NFL had some fun personalities and now it feels so sterile like players are afraid to be entertaining(outside of playing).
Finally some more respect for THE TRUE classic era of Pro Football - Merger in 1970-1989. 1978 on with the rule changes made the game take off to new heights.
I'm an 80's guy(born in 1975). The highlight of John Riggins game winning run was the first football play I ever saw/heard of. Then, the Raiders superbowl victory over the Redskins I watched all the way through. I was born to a Raiders family. I remember watching all the Sabel's NFL films back then, and plenty of games. There's so much more to say; I'll just stop. and let the two hours of 80s speek for itself!
I've been watching vintage Bucs and Raiders mostly on youtube here. 81 Raiders should have won the Superbowl that year. They went 8-1 on a shortened season. Ted Hendricks was still good.
For some reason, I feel like mentioning that I remember the Buffalo Bills on the T.V. at a lawndrymat. They sucked at the time; the next thing I knew, they were dominant! I remember them noting Bruce Smith as an exciting new player; but they have a long ways to go.
I remember telling a P.E. teacher around 1990 that I remember this one Bengals Qb before Esiasan. It was insane how this guy would hit these receivers on the money every time, and the Wr's couldn't do much with it.
This is the NFL at its best. When the defense was allowed to play the game and the offense took serious strategy, not just arena league Hail Marys every play. The league will never be the same again
As a Steelers fan, I can bet there might be only 1 or 2 highlights in this video of the Steelers. The 80's was a rough decade for us, but it was still fun to watch them with some memorable players.
I love this video some real great players brought back some real memories of family holidays to USA, the families we visited where 49ers fans then the other family we visited where patriots fans, so our holidays where to California and Boston lol I actually married the family from Bostons daughter so I'm we are patriot fans. But I really do appreciate all NFL it's brought so much great memories to me. #NFL4LIFE
Digitally redone as some (not all) of these scenes from the 80's are in 1080P! Pretty cool to actually see what these guys' faces looked like in helmets!
I’m not sure the NFC was more dominant than it ever was in the 1980s and a majority of the 90s. Teams like the 49ers, Bears, Redskins, and Giants were routinely great.
I will do a pushup for every like this comment gets

We’ve never been more back. All we need now is this for the 90s

The 80s Golden era for football. Nice trip down memory lane.
Nah, early 2000s
_I think the 1970’s is what really cemented football as “Thee” American sport._
2000’s to mid 2010’s is the golden era of the nfl
The 90s were great too , so many hall of gamers and alot of 80s players still playing, Mario, Elway, Sanders
1960's was the golden era. 1983 is when it started to downfall.

The one I had on vhs ended with Superbowl XXV Giants vs. Bills
The 80s rocked at everything. Once simulation is here, I'm going back to the 80s and stay there for eternity.
Football is a very aesthetically pleasing sport for photography. God bless the Sabols for capturing these gems.

The 80s looked like such an amazing Era for almost everything. I wish I could go back in time so bad to experience it
I wish I could go back and live in it again
Literally the decade that destroyed all of humanity and is why we live in hell today

Watching my 42nd season of NFL, you have no idea how grateful I am for this.

80s jerseys and the colors are so freakin cool
I always liked the Giants 80s helmets
Pure genius who selected the music tracks. Really fantastic, so so good. Respect !
"2 Hours of 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s NFL Vibes" is all I will ever need to help me remember how great The NFL really was.
NFL Films always blessing the community

Raiders had monsters on their defense. Ted Hendricks, John Matuszak, Lyle Alzado, Lester Hayes, Rod Martin. Mike Davis, Howie Long, etc.
This is the NFL at its best. When the defense was allowed to play the game and the offense took serious strategy, not just arena league Hail Marys every play. The league will never be the same again
I’d love to see a series like this for ALL decades 70s, 90s, 00s and 10s nothing but NFL Film style greatness and instrumental music🏈
And 1930s
Nice upload NFL. Long live the 80’s!!
What a wonderful idea for a video, great style and really well done
Omg this has such I’m watching the nfl network at 3am vibes, I love it.
Love how the guy in the stands puts his arms up at the 2:04 mark on Doug Williams' TD pass. He knew lol
Bro this is so sick!!! All the hero’s of the era this is so nostalgic! I lover football so much! Football is life!
Everyone who agrees

Back when the NFL was perfection at its finest.
The music on here rocks!!! Nothing like synthesizers and electronic guitar with a little saxophone!
The intro music to this just brought me to another galaxy where only magic, unicorns and 80’s exist.
So many Legends of the game back in the 80s.
I wish I were around to watch this era, when defense was allowed to play and actually tackle
Thank you so much for posting.... a lot of good memories!

Mark Malone days lol
Those Seahawks uniforms were incredible.
Yessir! So glad they brought them back this year a few times!
These uploads by NFL recently have been quite intriguing
Let's go back to the Future...well, this will have to do and that's okay with me. Incredible vid/tribute to the greatest decade ever! 😎🚗🏈
The greatest decade!
Massive shoulder pads lol. Love it.
Great music!
For once, one of these vids that has music I like. Well done!
What an era for football. Gritty warriors with insane amount of charisma
This is the greatest video I have ever seen in my 15 years on TH-cam 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a time to be alive 😎
You had to be there.
Even though I was only alive for like a month of the whole decade 😂😂😂

Would love to have seen 80’s era play today we got them way to soon
This is one of the greatest videos I have ever seen.
Yo NFL...we need more throwback compilations
It absolutely floors me to look back on how many of these guys are so young. 8:43 Mike Ditka
I loved the game then and now but one things for sure, the uniforms were so much better back then.
Montana throws a pick 6 to L.T.while targeting Jerry. Epic!!!

Yeah. The Raiders are playing like they did in the early 80s. It’s so vintage.
36:25
Great shot from the end zone of Jim McMahon hitting Willie Gault for a bomb in Super Bowl XX.
1984, the best QB generation of all time... Joe Montana, Dan Marino, John Elway, Jim Kelly, Vinny Testaverde, Bernie Kosar... Pure talent.
7:02 Now there’s a guy who is going to have a great career after football.
I like how the background music sounds like something you’d hear at a high school reunion
The Top Gun-like intro gave me chills
This music makes me think Maverick and Goose are about to buzz the tower, and I love it.
I wish this would still be the nfl
This video is beyond awesome!!!
i was born in 2002 so i sadly never got to watch theses guys irl but thank god for NFL films!!!!!!!!!!!
Just to hear the “Montana throws to Rice” call. What glorious times these must’ve been.
The 80s cheerleaders aye!
03:10 Wow. The Billy 'White Shoes' touchdown would have been called short in today's game.
these 80s beats are hard
Around the 7:30 to 7:35 mark as LT intercepts the ball and takes it to the house. Bill belichick is in the back.
Best era
You guys should do this for the 70s
This is amazing and I wasn't even alive during the 80's .....

I feel old because I remember William Perry scoring that touchdown
At around 1:45, you can see the Fridge score when it was supposed to be Walter Peyton. He walks off disgusted😢
Oooh buddy having a flashback of my posters and magazines
Sometimes you just click on a random TH-cam video and it hits the spot
We became a weaker nation when we stopped shredding on electric guitars.

Relax chubby, its still real.
@@davidmitchell6873 Chubby? Maybe you need eye glasses.
Nothing is “real” about 50 penalties a game and QBs that can’t even be breathed on.
Phenomenal.🥃🚬
1984 that was the last great raider team
Cool video nfl 1980 s hope they so the 90 s
The next time the old man makes a "the game is gone" gripe, I'm shoving this in his face and running away.
So much green carpet!
Dan Marino has a perfect spiral.

The National Football League: The Tagliabue Era. A most interesting Era indeed.
