I like to clean mine when I notice a lot of copper goop at the bottom of my beaker. When you clean it, you will notice your pieces will come out of the bath bright and shiny versus needing to use the Dremel to shine them up when the solution is depleted/dirty.
Any advice how how to clean the copper? Do you sand it?

That rust on clips ruined my bath, I have to filter it in to an active charcoal filter

I tried the coffee filter thing but geeze did the coffee taste grose afterwards and the trip to the hospital was no fun at all.
