- Big rain events have been flushing all of the local rivers and estuaries all around our coast lines in the last few months, fishing dirty water can be tricky at times but can also be very rewarding, I hope some of these tips can help you catch some fish next time you are faced with dirty water.

A great instructional video James. Thanks for your work in putting it out there for us all to enjoy and learn from. You said a few times there was bait coming through. If it’s not too much effort, it might be great on a future video if you could show us the screen of the sounder and explain what you’re looking for to understand this. It might help some of us sounder slow learners.

I've seen some decent marks in that spot at 58 min but never gotten a bite out of there. Super informative video, helps heaps figuring out any system. Last time I was in the river I wasted the whole day between the lakes without a bite after all that rain a bit over a month ago. Confidence was super low after that session. Your diagram and findings after the rain instilled a bit of hope next time I'm back up.

Can I ask where you have your transducer mounted.?
Running a 10” Helix mega in my boat,my transducer is on the back transom.....thinking of putting on a pole up front.

No worries mate glad you enjoyed! Yes our transducer is transom mounted, normally sound through a spot then drift it and just keep an eye out for schooled fish

Thanks mate, yes we are always using side scan to locate structure and fish, the transducer is mounted on the transom

Running a couple of different braids, mostly the cast tackle 8lb on the lighter gear and 10lb suffix on the heavier stuff
