one tip: if there's something your friend doesn't want and it's bound to them you can add them as a tenant and they can add any items to your storage. make sure you trust them of course. you can remove them as a tenant and it will still be yours even if it's a mogstation item.
I've looked at Makeplace, but I was under the impression that you would have to place/design everything in order to save it. Is that not the case? Can you design it somewhere else, then import that to the game?
Even if you're against plugins, MakePlace is an amazing program on it's own simply to visualize what you can do and what it'll look like. For anyone unaware, it's essentially Minecraft's creative mode as a stand-alone application, it is an absolute godsend.
I can’t overstate the advantage of crafting the items you need to build your house. I had already max leveled mining, botany and weaving, so I decided that prior to buying my house, I would max level fishing and the rest of the crafts. This took about a month and turned out to be quite a lot of fun. Now, not only can I make any craftable housing item for myself or my friends, I can make any craftable item in the game that I want or need. When I did buy my medium house last week, I was able to build out the whole place for under 2 million gil, a small fraction of the cost of buying the same items, which could easily have doubled the cost of the plot. Leveling crafting jobs using the Ishgardian restoration method is fast, easy and cheap, especially if you do your own gathering.
I also won my first house in the 6.3 update in Empyreum. Been having a ball building out the interior. I'm pretty much crafting everything myself, which saves a ton of gil, but I also enjoy the gathering and crafting as part of the journey. I already had an apartment, so I was using that as a studio of sorts to test out different designs and ideas in the event I got a house.
I got my house during the housing lottery this go round too and It was my first housing lottery. I didn't have any other bidders on my small plot in the mist
About decorating: Even if you don't want to or can't craft housing items, you don't have to pay Market Board prices for everything. Quite a lot of basic stuff is sold by vendors you can get in your house or the housing ward merchants - chairs, tables, rugs, walls, flooring. Do check your Grand Company quartermaster vendor too. & the Firmanent vendors. These options might be enough to tide you over till MB prices drop or you decide to take up crafting.
ya this is a great point, i noticed the items you can get from the housing merchant are selling for 2-3x on the MB haha so I always look up an item i'm interested in to see if it's sold by the NPC first
Also this is an awesome time to get into crafting. If you literally do the leve quest and spend seals on double exp mats you can literally get all your crafters to level 50 in a few hours. Just remember to eat some food, and turn in HQ items for double experience points. This allows you A. Save on some gill. B. Earn some extra coin
I was able to get my hands on a medium plot in Goblet. I went straight there, knowing that there wouldnt be many bids (on my plot, there were only two other bids). For anyone still looking, dont discard the Goblet: we have a pool :D In my ward, almost all small plots are still empty, even the ones with a really good location, so there is no excuse not to go get them :)
Congrats on your win! I was in the same lotto for Diabolos neighbor! I'm trying to get a Large however so I'm trying again as I lost the last one. Hope to visit sometime!
I had a 50/50 chance to win a large house for 40mil and I won, it's been a longggggg wait for a large house let me tell you. Now that I got it, I love it and have some decorating to do. Gives something to do in between waiting for maint resets.
Finding a housing discord you like can be great for not key finding a lot, but also considering relocation and getting more of the details that aren’t well explained
I use mine pretty much for a cheaper port to Limsa and a set of concentrated merchants and a mender. It's also very close to the the marketboard and summoning bell, so I only need to go into Limsa proper for events, GC squadron weeklies, etc. I haven't dived too much into decorating, yet, but it's an option. I also agree on your comments about decorating. It's like an additional game and economy layered on top of the rest!
Holy smokes, I spent a bunch of time going through what plat to bid on for the 6.3 ward expansion. Fell totally in love with Lav 17 (soon as I saw it, I stopped looking)! I was one of three bidders and got it (had made a lot of bids over the past year, but lost them all). I’m a long ways from doing the inside, but I got the outside mostly done. I just wish I could put some stuff on the huge front lawn in front of my house.
there is a program called MakePlace, it's a house decoration simulator for FFXIV. You can arrange everything the way you want it and then it will even give you a shopping list including dyes and stuff.
I just started playing final fantasy and honestly, it's a bit overwhelming! I am loving the gameplay, I just hope I find more of a sense of a belonging in the game!
There's a lot to do in the game, but most of it optional. Try to focus on what you like the most and do those things first and if you reach your goals in those things then there are plenty of optional things you can do. Join a friendly, helpful, engaging FC and they will help you find you place for sure.
it definitely is overwhelming for new players, and honestly even for old players lol but yeah there is a lot but you don't have to do all of it, plus it'll always be there if you ever decide to do it, so take your time and savor it all because it's great playing this game for the first time :)
Yes I was one of the lucky ones as well, I won Plot 31 ward 26 in The Empyreum, I really wanted a medium, but this being the first time I every really tried for a house, Even though I been playing 4 years lol. I thought my chances were better with a small. I will say, that before I had the mindset of It would be fun to own a house, and decorate, but I am fine without it, but now after winning the house OMG I love it soo much. I wish for everyone to experience this joy
If you lose your house from not logging in for 45 days, at least visit the housing enthusiast and recover your stuff. That too will disappear in 30-35 days. I found that out the hard way. Missed the 45 day mark during a break, gave up thinking i could pick my stuff up any time. Nope. Everything gone lol whoops
I hope they update the game in a major manner for the future. I could rant about many things, but housing is one thing. It's very limited and a lot of the house types could use atleast 100-300 more slots for decoration, the yards ESPECIALLY need to up their decor limit. The ability to change the inside pillars, layout to match your house type. The yard types, I would love the hotsprings and access to the sides more open like the new hotsprings house, without the eastern design house for example.
Point of clarification though, won't you lose your plot if you don't physically enter your home after 45 days? It kind of puts a requirement to buy a building permit - unless it is just physically stepping foot on your plot
Nice i got lucky as well I Shiro ward 30 plot 45 i was the first and one other person bidded on mines 2 days later so it was 50/50 got lucky to go from small - > medium. Btw man...i feel ya >_< exterior is either a guessing game or going for colors you seen in the world before I use Eulmore cause derp we been there but damn I feel ya on that.
yea i lost my house due to not being not logging on lol. i spent well over 10 mil for everything and it was such a cozy small home. i have to fight the new system now sadly.
When housing demolition is on, you will only have 30-45 days to construct your house or you will lose the plot you bid on. Then also you will need to walk inside your house a minimum of once a month or it will be demolished and go back up for bid. Also don't get caught up in the idea that you need a house. most players are perfectly good with apartments. Unless you want in the housing glam game or you really need crops its not worth your money. If you aren't dedicated to farming up most of the mats and crafting the furniture yourself, house decorating is hella expensive.
Final Fantasy online you cannot get the first house for free because you can't win one you can't win one because players want you to pay for it you don't win one through the lottery why are TH-camrs and forums talk a lot of BS on the FC housing and on the game in general. it's prophetic
Thank you very much for your video and information. A Huge Grats on your new home!! Love the plot as well. ps, one thing that irks me is. You should be able to port to your own home free.
totally agree, and I dont like that you have to place the mini aetheryte to teleport, it takes up a slot and it doesn't mesh with anything lol so I tried hiding it
got a house for 3 million, sadly not where i wanted because i bid without checking every other place but its not a bad place and i like to have the market board nearby, i started with 13 million and now i am at 7 xd my wallet hurts lmao, and yes, i also suck at decorating which isnt a surprise i guess xd but i guess its minimally okey xd anyone interessed to check out i am from moogle plot 3 in the 7th yard in empyreum, you will notice the pumpking chariot xD
Back when housing first launched, a small plot cost around 200-250 million gil. A large was up to 800-850 million. Also owning a house is basically forcing you to continue your sub to the game, or else you'll lose it. Also the item limit on placement and storage was already doubled to what it is now lol. If you think a small is a problem, large is much, much worse. Medium plots are the best bang for your buck currently for item limit.
Omg yeah the game tells you NOTHING of what you need to do to start. I had no idea I had to fork over another 450k to buy the shitty starter home. And the mini aetheryte kinda sucks cause it eats up a space as well x.x also the inflation is real omg. 2 pillows cost 50k right now. Just... pillows. Those two white pillows. Thankfully I had an apt before this so the basic housing items I had. But I still spent like 3mil on 1 room in my home lmao. But it's ok cause I love my home is super cute
You need to also realize after buying a house you become a slave as your stuck paying a subscription constantly and it can become burdensome. I have a FC and medium house lavender. I did male allot of money selling houses and oriental grass plants for housing. But remember to log in every several weeks and walk into your house in the dead time of the game or your house will go into deconstruction mode. Meaning you can lose your house if your don't log in and walk in your house after about 30 days or maybe less
@yukyuksffxiv they send you a email after 30 days then you have 15 days after that to step foot into the house. I actually had to look it up but also there is a deconstruction timer under timers in the menu. Thanks for video
The thing that the game fails to explain is that most of the tutorial stuff for housing is experienced when you get your apartment. That's how i learned and since i won the lottery in Shirogane in Tonberry, i was able to design the exterior. Sadly exterior alone ate up around 3m excluding the donations made by other people. Interior will take longer as my theme is an eel resto. Overall, try getting an apartment and experiment there first.
I got my house during the housing lottery this go round too and It was my first housing lottery. I didn't have any other bidders on my small plot in the mist

I used Makeplace to design my house. Once you save your house, you use the plugin to automatically place everything in-game. Highly recommend.
I've looked at Makeplace, but I was under the impression that you would have to place/design everything in order to save it. Is that not the case? Can you design it somewhere else, then import that to the game?

She mentions she’s on PS4, so no plugins
@@RogozMD That and it's against ToS.
Illegal af in game tho and bannable so careful
I'm really new to FFXIV, but somehow the algorithm recommended your videos to me. I really like your content, thanks for the videos.
yay glad you enjoyed and welcome to FFXIV :)

I got the same plot! .. i actually think its the best small plot in LB, i was the only bidder on mine :)
i'm actually loving it more and more each day, great plot!
I just have an appartament that I got to use the chocobo stable and to see how the gardening thing works, but it is basically empty till today lol
After waiting 5 years of trying for housing I got one FC medium and one medium personal side by side in mist! Let’s go dude!
congrats!
I really like your videos..very informative.
Got lucky and won my dream cottage plot against 18 others. This video is just what I needed.
That's a charming plot. Lucky!

I have that same exact plot but in ward 30. I'm on the second level so it's plot 47.
I got lucky too! First time trying for a house, and I got a medium plot on Lavender Beds 😍
Plot 46 on ward 28 in Behemot.
congrats thats one of the best mediums in the game imo!

the life lesson you learn buying a house is real, once you buy a house you stuck paying a sub and rl mortgage is pain in arse

OMG i made it into the video on the florist walls list of buyers :D am famous!
lololol omg thats funny
I believe you have to buy that 450K housing permit within 45 days or lose the plot.
Lol same plot as me 🤣 good choice
Didn't spend 'millions" because I and my friends crafted the housing items and the rest was bought from the housing merchant.
i finally got a medium one with the 6.3 update and i love it. finally i have enough space to do actually decent builds! \(^.^)/
Congrats! A medium is such a better space to play around with
