I've always loved this game series, I was born in '81 and so grew up w/ regular Nintendo; I was a teenager when the first Mortal Kombat movie came out and we used to listen to the soundtrack during basketball practice heh While I do like the idea of the dragon tattoos and Aracana, it's a great way to explain how/why regular humans suddenly get superpowers, I feel like they wasted their R rating, they could've done so much more crazy shit from the games but it feels like they were holding back.

I watched them way back when they aired for free on youtube they made a deal with a company(forget the name atm) but then that was temporary and they made them for streaming on HBO Max now as well as DVD. I have both seasons as well as all the movies, live and animated and MK Conquest too which is a bit underrated as well. Also, since you like mk I highly recommend Snowblind, it's awesome!

Exactly 💯 I always liked the possibility of Jax’s bionic arms being an additive weapon as opposed to his actual arms because of this reason.
If you read his bio in MK3 the cyber arms were an add on, he put to enhance his strength
