I’m a 30 year retired teacher and I have to tell you, your teaching is exceptional. You make a difficult concept easy and you are very knowledgeable. Thanks! It’s so helpful 😊
This is simple and very important. If you are going to be off on the follow through you likely were just off somewhere in the shot, maybe subtly out of alignment or possibly pulling/pushing a bit out of balance etc. the follow through being right truly makes everything come together right at the end of the shot.
as a new archer, your videos have been a godsend. Your way of teaching is really good, I hope you teach in some capacity outside of youtube as well, cause man, youve got a knack for it.
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into teaching archery. I somewhat understand this concept, but maybe a video on how you practice this by walking us through your shots. You have taken me from an average barebow shot to a much improved barebow shooter. Thank You Jake
I never realized the relative importance of the follow through versus the release. I was thinking that I needed to concentrate mainly on the release to improve, but in retrospect I have noticed good shots correlated with less focus on the release. I just thought that recent weaker shots were the pain of changes to my shot process. This resonates with me. Thanks.
When in full draw I used to think about the installment payment of my riser and limbs but this one is reinvigorating myself. Thanks Jake impressive take as always 👏🏼
Thank you for the straight, simple truth nuggets you share in these podcasts. I was dealing with this issue last night. Mentally, I was trying to think about my release and hope my follow-through would turn out right. While my release became more consistent, my follow-through was spotty. This video is what I needed.
Hi. Thanks so much! Appreciate you sharing these mental and physical tips. Love your illustration with the arrow! Great job! You are one of the best in archery... and a great teacher- coach!
Hi Jake. One of the best videos you've released so far, and I have seen them all. Really intuitive the "rail" guided follow through, so to speak. One question not related to the video but related to the tiller bolts you mentioned in the intro. Which bolts should I order if I have a Win&Win ATF-X (purchased in 2023) riser?. I am not satisfied with the "factory" bolt they come with and would be interested in getting yours. I'm in Spain, but I do not care about the shipping cost if the bolts will make the limbs fit snugglier than they do now. Thanks
in my experience, in laymans terms it comes down to: Dont think about relaxing your fingers or the actual release, focus on moving your "lan2" and pressure towards the target
Huh, so.. I have been kinda doing it right the whole time. I always tell myself to focus on proper anchor and then expansion, but I was always disappointed in myself that I almost always forget about release. But my shots are not bad that I thought to myself "is this ok?"
Hi , very good tutorial on archery. Just a question if back tension slightly paused during aiming or it is a continuous contraction of scapula after anchor point? I have constant arrows deviation to the right side specially when moving to follow through is not smooth.
Can I do that before I anchor? I like to get to full draw and achieve a state where I could rest in that position all day, but if I were to release, it would have all the right tension to produce a proper follow through. After I achieve that, then I anchor, transfer, and expand. That way all I am doing through the transfer and expansion is deepening my focus and smoothly adding a tiny bit of power into the shot. Is there a downside to this approach?

Jake, what to do when the clicker goes off early? I always botch the shot. Also do you shoot "push pull"? Is it advisable?
Next video on quantity versus quality of rounds which on thing is best
I agree 100%. I don't teach release. I teach go to the follow-through position. 👍👍👍

Mentally at full draw what are your thoughts? Are you just thinking follow through? Are you counting?
Become the arrow simple but effective
Just realized you look like Tom Cruise. I bet others have said it before me.
