There is no mention of previous major variable decisions made by the past player characters regardless of if the time is appropriate or not. For example, the Inquisitor could have potentially romanced Harding. Rook can romance her in this game and you would think that surely the Inquisitior's relationship with her would come up in some way shape or form but of course it doesn't. You just have to assume that they broke up off screen and she doesn't want to talk about it or she's cheating on them. You don't get to know the status of Hawke and their relationship with Isabella either. If everyone can waste time sitting about, talking about pronouns, the characters definitely have time to bond with Rook by talking about their past like they would in all of the previous games. In fact they already do talk about very personal things from the past as long as they don't involve mentioning the previous player characters and the decisions that changed them in the previous games

How did they ruin her personality, not only did they get rid of her possible family (HoF and Kirana, and they were the only people she trusted completely, and now she doesn't even remember them, although ideally they should be in the game, but instead they were made in fact non-canonical), but they also made her so friendly with everyone for some reason. I mean, since when did she become friends with Harding and the Inquisitor? Why did she feel regret for Flemeth if we remember how Morrigan herself asked to kill her? What changed her so much (especially if she didn't have a loving family)?

To be fair, regardless of the worldstate in DAI, she's not so bloodthirsty as she were in DAO, and kills certain elf only if you don't procced with rituals she asks you to do, to show some respect to the Temple, if memory serves well. So there's this character development. And she can be friendly when she desires too, alas... it doesn't automatically makes her the person she is here.

You do remember that she seriously mellowed out by Inquisition even _without_ her son right? Before she wouldn’t, borderline couldn’t, say anything nice to Leliana or Alister. By Inquisition they’re not at each other’s throats. Also she probably did have ten years of offscreen character development. Because that’s exactly what happened. Ten years passed between the events of the game.

The facial animations are terrible. Morrigan's lips were enlarged and her face was "pulled up" for some reason - it looks odd. And the Inquisitor has two arms! Two arms, Karl!
Such a missed opportunity the writing is pompous and overly long winded. Morrigan had a quiet blend of sophistication and humility that suggested she was an educated woman of humble origins. That was her charm.
I feel like these are the only scenes of the game worth watching if you need any sense of closure from the past three games. They wrote a lot around Morrigan's past and experiences made which is dogshit, but whenever Morrigan speaks the writing/dialogue is NOT dogshit, at least. (Wonder who wrote her this time around since gaider is gone and all) I actually enjoyed the lore bits with Mythal etc and it was telegraphed in inquisition that her path would lead to her taking in the fragment of Mythal, so it is indeed the sensible continuation/conclusion to her story here. More than i can say for the rest of the game and its writing (as seen how they overexplained and repeated their plans and telegraphed the endings available here as soon Morrigan stopped speaking), but hey small mercies/wonders 🤣 It is just too bad that Morrigan does not remember her son and old buddies save for the Inquisitor apparently, welp.
You can tell they didn't play DA Inquisition. They don't even know their own setting. Morrigan in Inquisition does not help Inquisition. She goes with you because she seeks to escape from her mother, and become more powerful by finding the temple of Mythal. If that part is played, Flemeth teaches her a lesson by showing that she is Mythal herself, and that based on her selfishness, she must now wander all eternity carrying the essence of the mother she hates so much. Morrigan is a repellent, selfish and evil character, who only looks out for herself. And that is what makes her loved by the community. We don't need a friendly and nice person to like her. Morrigan is perfect as she is. She doesn't evolve, because she's an evil person from the beginning who manipulates everything she comes across. It's a shame to see that even the developers themselves don't know how to write their own characters. This woman, is not Morrigan, she is a generic character.
It’s not that it isn’t cannon. It just wasn’t mentioned. Remember how in Inquisition, despite having the world state of our choosing, the companions of the first game didn’t talk about the Warden all that much. They only talk if the situation involved them, or if you asked about it.

Shure Hawk and the Inquisitor have their own options but none felt as strong and influential as the warden and morrigan. If there was an option to be 100% canon it should have been them.
No it was never canon. But even if it's a choice you made in your game it won't be acknowledged at all because the devs refused to add a few extra lines about her husband for 20+ years and their child ... The disappointment is immeasurable

She grew up in a forest with little social interaction outside the barbaric things her mother would be doing. This is the Morrigan most people seem to miss But she becomes a mom, works with the empress of Orlais, & helps the inquisition. At some point she would have finally developed her own personality apart from her mother's. And now, just because shes all sunshine and smiles while helping Rook, it doesnt mean shes not our Morrigan. Shes assisting someone she believes to be competent, with a threat that could end her as easily as it could end anyone else Personally i think the writer did an alright job. She lost the mystique that drew me to her but hey wed all change after 20 years (or however long its been since the events of origins)

i didnt realize elves were granted equal rights. I sure as hell didnt in DA3 because i remember KILLING the elf gods and the ending saying their race will die off. i assume the CCP elf gets diplomatic immunity but why would the inquisition have a Star Trek Cosplay elf as their leader???
