The only 22's I've ever heard as loud as the alpha are hand guns. I have a 45lc Rossi and I've also used a 357 alpha and the one big difference is that the alpha's lack a splash back guard, this makes a huge difference as unless you use 38 special instead of 357 in the alpha you end up with about 50 bloody spots on your fore arm, this is not an issue with the Rossi. this guard may also be directing the noise forward.
Would have been good to see the Power Points through the Alfa aswell.. the Rossi seems to be going sonic 90% of the time with the Power Points, real shame coz would have been awesome if it stayed just below but I'm sure another ammo would suit that purpose. Whats your thoughts now mate, after having them both for a while? I'm torn between em. The Rossi can ultimatley swap out Cylinder for the WMR's which is a big plus and it has taken precautions regarding blowback. The Alfa is undeniably far greater build quality but gives a lot more blowback so eyewear must be considered almost essential. Let us know your thoughts
Rustedblade the rossi is more comfortable to hold and far more comfortable to fire sound wise, even the 22mag is quieter than the alfa. With the alfa you also have to purchase the scope mounts separately. Ill post up some accuracy results at some point. Unless the alfa has some outstanding accuracy so far the rossi is a clear winner for me

Funny thing but velocities through the Alpha were about on par with a 22LR Ruger Single-Six/w 6 1/2 inch barrel that I've had for about 30 years.

Rossi is poor quality and overpriced for what they are.
