@Irvine_Harper1919 That's good to hear! I turned 50 last year, and I'm still having an on-and-off relationship with calisthenics. With relative regularity, I do kneeling push-ups, of which I can do about 25 reps at a time (on a good day, that is). Can you do pull-ups? I can't pull myself up a bar one cm. How should I do "pull day" if I can't even pull myself up to begin with?! 😅
@deadbydawn745 try assisted pull ups with bands. They'll get you going. Then use thinner bands as you get stronger until you're strong enough to do without. That's what worked for me. Inverted rows are good for beginners too.
@ start with the easier variations of rows and then use a resistance band to help with the pull-ups. Hanging from a bar is a great way to build a bit of muscle as well 👍 keep it up mate, sounds like you’re doing the right things 🤝
HNY Bruce - that looked like a pretty hard workout to start 2025. I think you just edged it there v the other park users. Looking forward to following your routines this year - very motivating.
Hope you have a great year Bruce:] My workout resolution is to nail a handstand push up (and to remember to practice further away from concrete in my yard)
cool vids brother love the content! i noticed that on the last rep of the pull ups you sometimes skip the eccentric! maybe try and push through lots of gains in there
hey mate , I have just started calisthenics so I am not an expert , but you know keeping a thumb less grip on pull ups can potentially lead you to miss some forearm gains and strength , hope one day I will also be able to do pull ups with weighted vest . Thanks
Excelent routine. Bruce, do you base your pull day on reaching a specified volume of pull ups, or you just do as much as you feel fine without taking volume really into account? Also, I have noticed that in your workouts you tend to train using a sort of circuit, meaning you change the excercise per set ( Pull ups - Rows, repeat) (Pull ups - Chin ups) instead of going with normal numbers of 3 - 4 - 5 sets with one excercise at a time. I am quite used to do normal sets, but as you have been doing this for a while I wanted to know your opinion about introducing this kind of variation in a routine, or mixing it up with normal sets as you did here. Is it useful? Thank you for your content. You don't pretend to be anything, you are just yourself. You don't add bothering music, you show your exact routine. I don't like watching routines, but watching yours does not get boring. Somehow, I learn and enjoy watching them and I also love your brithish accent. Warm Salute from Colombia.

Great content man. You got any tips on getting my first pull up? Right now I'm training for chin ups so I get stronger at pulling and also get used to moving my bodyweight like that. I can do around 2 or 3 of them. I think my problem is with my form, which I'm trying to fix
