    I love the kundalini practice, I do not understand how breathing is bad, it frustrates me, to hear it is not good. My therapist and I would do 2 1/2 hours of kundalini, I thought nothing of it, except the healing that took place! Then we did supervised 3 hour holotropic breathwork workshops

      It really all depends on the person. For some people with blood pressure or other cardiac issues, long hyper ventilation practices may carry some risks. Also some people with pre-disposition towards certain mental afflictions may find that the states produced by breathwork practices trigger an undesirable response. Unfortunately on the spiritual path, there is no one-size-fits-all practice that works great for everyone.

    I read that it is dangerous to practice Kundalini yoga without supervision. Can you please shed a light on this? I don’t see any danger in practicing your videos, I feel good and energized. Don’t know what to believe. Thank you for putting the videos together.

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There's a lot of confusion about what is Kundalini and Kundalini Yoga. In a sense all Yoga (or rather all Spiritual practices, religions, etc.) are Kundalini Yoga, as they all aim to expand consciousness and awaken Kundalini. However the "danger" - and I use this word very loosely - comes from awakening Kundalini or expanding consciousness too quickly.
      If someone wakes up too fast it can be very uncomfortable. The sudden realization that so many things that one through to be true were an illusion does have the possibility to be a crippling experience. However, I believe that the awakening of Kundalini is only really dangerous for people who do not practice spirituality, do not do Yoga, have an unhealthy diet, use substances, etc. If the body is relatively clean and the mind is being worked on through meditation, any uncomfortable experiences that arise will be recognized as only a purification of the consciousness and will not be dangerous in any way.
      Now aside from all of that, while we call our classes "Kundalini Yoga" because it is a term that people actually search for and it meets the expectation of what they are looking for, the majority of what we teach on TH-cam is not actually techniques for working directly with the Kundalini. Because we do feel that those are things to be initiated into in person, with direct guidance. I have searched the internet many many times and I can tell you it is extremely difficult to find any genuine Kundalini practices online. So you don't have anything to worry about. These practices are all safe to do on your own (of course with the regular precautions of any physical activities) and very good and healthy for the mind and body ;)
      Hope that helps! 🙏

    Andrew, I know it differs for everyone, but how long did it take for you to be able to do the breath of fire so rapidly? I've done your other Kundalini video, Awakening the 10 Bodies, and I find it extremely difficult to do those, both in laying down and with knees pulled into my chest. Great stuff here. Your work is my Uranus style workout, for Friday Venus energy exercise day. Haha.

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I can't tell you how long it took me to be able to do the breath of fire at the rate I do now. What I can say is it's a practice that's been in my life for 15 years now. And I always do it at a rate that feels like medium for me. I could go much faster. But the most important thing is to feel comfortable throughout the practice. So what I really recommend is for you to slow down to a rate where you could comfortably perform it for at least 2-3min straight. That may be quite slow, but steady! In time you will develop greater strength and dexterity in your diaphragm and the pace will naturally increase.
      Have a beautiful day 💞🙏

      One could argue that in a very minor way it does. However I would not, personally, consider this a full Kundalini (all Chakras) type of sequence.

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can, yes. It's often referred to as "cannon breath" and it's done with the mouth open in an "O" shape. You might find that your mouth gets very dry, but it's OK. You can take a sip of water if you need.

    I noticed you don’t “tune in” . Why is that?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I generally "tune in" by taking three deep breaths, relaxing into the present moment, and then brining awareness to the different bodies: physical, energetic, emotional and mental. In certain programs I also use the Guru Mantra.
      If you're referring to the Adi Mantra, out of respect, I only include this in kriyas taught by Yogi Bhajan. I think doing otherwise would be misrepresentative 🙏
