I totally get why you'd have some of those odd key binds because mine are also pretty odd to most UO players of today. The only thing major I'd change though on your end is having mouse wheel up as "LAST TARGET" and mouse wheel down as "TARGET SELF". It's honestly a game changer and was something I never started using until I got on Outlands. On old OSI servers I always had F12 as LAST TARGET. Other than that, your key binds are very similar to how mine are setup. Especially since we both go crazy with the F keys when many mages never even bother using any of the F keys.
That's how my key binds are. They don't make sense but I've used them since 1997 and I hate changing things up once I have a routine. I legit use my F1 through F12 keys for every major spell. Was one of the most notorious PKs on the Napa Valley server with these from 97-2003. F1 - Greater Heal F2 - Paralyze F3 - Cure F4 - Poison F5 - Energy Bolt F6 - Explosion F7 - Flamestrike F8 - Heal F9 - Meditation F10 - Mind Blast F11 - Invisibility F12 - Last Target The only thing I've changed from those binds since getting on the Outlands server was Last Target and Meditation. Those are both now bound to my side mouse buttons for faster/easier access. Aside from that, they all remain the same. I still use lightning, harm, weaken etc. but I listed the major spells above. For harm/lightning/wall of stone etc. I use different variants with the left ALT key. Like ALT Q ALT W ALT E ALT R etc. are for those spells. Debuffs are variations using the Control key.
I think it's impressive that you play well.... with THAT crazy keybind setup. You were not lying when you said your hand flies across that keyboard! LOL! But more power to you that you can quickly navigate your hand across all that. Of course, I'm sure you know that if you refined your hotkeys to the least hand movements, you could actually take this game to another level for yourself. But how many players do you come across that are actually on your level to begin with.... mmmm I'm sure it varies, but you probably still come out on top most of the time anyways. Very enlightening, however. Good job on the hand reflexes!
The expansiveness of control, spell selection, and possible environmental manipulation all weigh heavily on being successful. Throw in the muscle memory and availability of keys and you have a learning curve that off-puts all but the best of 'em.
Unfortunately you are correct. Even newer games that have a steep learning curve seem to fail when they could be great if people took the time to learn.
I didn't use the same binds but this vid provided a great guide for making sure I have all the binds I need to survive as a mage. I'm more of a PvM guy with my Summoner, but I at least want a chance if I get jumped by a PK. Thanks for this!
F1-F8 Damage Spells F9-F12 Heal and cure Spells, wheel up last target, wheel down target self. Whatever key that is above TAB, select next target. My potions are right under my heal spells. That way I can cast a mini heal and before it's done casting drink a pot. I use to just literally stand still while a gank squad tried their best to kill me.

I survived the literal worst timed efield gank yesterday was hilarious I chugged and bandaided thru the whole thing while arrows fizzled stuff. Archer dexxers spread the word y'all the extra punches it throws at runners are super necessary

This may seem really dumb but what do you press to unload on your current target? I always end up dragging out peoples bars and clicking the spell on them the first time, switching to my last target bind thereafter
@@trammie actually normal size they're legit all under the thumb, two up top which by default control DPI up and down but can be changed to legit anything

This is why UO pvp is still the best pvp of all games. So much utility and really awesome spells.

Hopefully it helps most dungeon PK's can be easily avoided if taking the right precautions.

Use this for an idea but maybe don't copy them these binds are a little dated.
I use shift-f,q,e,r,t for most spells. Its a lot easier on the fingers than ctrl-p/o :p

Holding Ctrl + Shift is the default for all names to appear (mobs, corpses, items). Maybe your broke that default in favor of Ctrl + 4? idk.

with the push to talk you still have to click over to discord correct....is there a way to hit something from uo to bring you to discord chat or no?
Run Discord as Admin after opening Outlands client and push to talk will work from within UO.
