Beautiful tent!!! You sure can make it tight!! What a great idea those side flashings are. Neat. Can't believe you crossed that cold river! It's about -21 out, so too cold for this old gal .... Beautiful country you've got! Beautiful.
+steinwaygoat BRRRRRR -21 water should be froze,,, just walk across.. wink... Hey,,, I was thinking, if your smokehouse is not tight, u may have it pitched to low, might need to pitch it ridgeline higher. The bottom of the door zipper I normally have it at least 1" from the ground, then when you stake door down it should be tight and above the ground a little. The walls are pitch in or out so the door fabric has no winkles. Something else I just started doing is sewing four 3/8" loops on lip of sleeve for 1" strap and slide a line through that. tie knot in each loop so it wont slide. this way you can hang heavier clothing above hammock... During this trip, I also been thinking about putting a Pole Mod using .340 Al poles From Center of roof on both side where it connects to walls. When I get this working, If u sew I can send you the pole pockets if u want them. Or I can sew them on for you this Summer... I'll let u know when I get them working... take care.
+Smokehouse Hammock Great ideas, both! Yup, I finally found two good trees so I can abandon the end 2/8's for a while--and boy, things went up like a breeeze then. And you're right--I think I've been setting a bit low. Heading out tomorrow, and will try your ideas. And yes, I do sew (though pretty neanderthal compared to your nice stitches, so yup, do send pole pockets and I'll attach them. (and send a bill--I can imagine those will be tricky little buggers to make!) But what a nice idea there. And a fantastic idea to have the little loops on the end of the sleeve. I have been hanging things from the middle--but I've been simply running a second line through and using it, not the tent line. That loop idea is great. Thanks so much, dear artist. Every time I use this, I admire your craftwork. When I get a chance to get out for a good trip again, I'm going to really do some close in shots of your nice handiwork for a youtube. Really a nice nice tent. Jewel
+steinwaygoat Thanks Jewel,,, Hey, over the weekend I did a backpacking trip than setup a base camp the 2nd night. I let someone else sleep in hammock while I slept on the ground in the Smokehouse... So after a very bad night of sleep, I finally figured out how to put 2 hammocks in the smokehouse... As soon As I build me a smokehouse II and get it working for 2 hammocks I will share the ideal... I should be about to modify any smokehouse II for 2 hammocks. I'll send you pole mod patches for no cost after I get those working also... can't wait to see your next video...
+Smokehouse Hammock That's incredible! I was talking with my brother in law about the set up, and he kept saying, Why don't you just sleep on the ground? He's NUTS! Two hammocks would be fantastic. Happy trails to you! Jewel
That looked like a fun trip. The water looked so nice. I would have brought a Tenkara rod for sure! Keep those videos coming. Let me know when you get bored of that Four Dog. ;)
Glad to FINALLY see another video from you. Other than weight, what do you think of that stove compared to the steel 4-dog? How warm did it stay inside the shelter?
+Scott Hart I think the 4-dog has the best stoves out there... both steel and Titanium. All his stoves are awesome... the TI UL1 I can get 4 hours and add wood it fires back up. this weekend I did sleep a bit longer and let it go for 5 hours,,there was a little bit of red coals left, I did have to get small sticks to get it going again. my big 4-dog 4-model stove I use in both cabin and big outfitters tent... get about 5 good hours burn time... As far as warm, you can regulate the temp easily... plenty warm enough.
+anthony johnston you really dont need it on hammock side. I took it off the 2nd night. just testing with it. holler at me sometime and lets go backpacking with the Smokehouses...
+GoFeesh 85 Hey Gofeesh. Its called a Smokehouse Outfitter... I make these... if your interested and want more info. Email me at Smokehousehammock@yahoo.com and I'll send you all the info on it... Thanks for watching.

Looks like a fun trip. I really like my tarp. Why do you need the heat shield on the hammock side?

Love that shelter. How's the condensation?
