    Thank you so much for this video!!! Tesla wanted $2000 to look at my 2021 Model Y because it has been in an accident. This fixed my low voltage battery error. I'm very grateful to you!!🎉🎉🎉

    Awesome video. If you don't use your tesla for days or weeks at a time especially during cold winters it goes on SLEEP MODE & my tech told me that trips the 12V battery low warning light. So Just wake it up with your App every now & then

    Also, beware of disconnecting the fireman’s loop and the 12V battery if there’s any chance the 12V battery is dead AND you’re not replacing the battery. The 12V battery pulls in the HV contactor, and if it’s weak or dead, the car will completely die when the fireman’s loop and 12V battery are reconnected. The HV battery constantly tries to charge the 12V battery, and this action can conceal how bad the 12V battery actually is.

    My model 3 never asked for the recalibration. The battery did go from 12.66 V to 13.5 volts after everything was hooked back up and not on charge. Even after charging hooked up, same 13.5 v .
    I did this a few days ago and the battery started out 12.6v. I pulled the battery and replaced with one out of a Miata. It worked fine. The Tesla battery measured around 6 volts😮. I put the Tesla battery on a trickle charger and reinstalled it and still got the code. Did this reset and code went away with charged Tesla battery. I have a new battery on the way. But I’ll know in a few hours or in the morning if I needed a new battery.

    Batteries are cheap through Tesla, just replace the battery when the alert shows up. When the 12V battery actually dies nothing works, doors, frunk, nothing, just replace it and save everyone a hassle. Battery alone on a model 3 is $85 if you know how to put it in yourself!

    • @tonykari5124
      @tonykari5124 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Very TRUE but if your 12V battery is showing 14 .5 V & it's obvious fine (like mine is only 13 months old) out of warranty & the warning came up. I did this & now I'm good. Been 5 months I'm driving it & its all good 👍

    Hey this literally just happened to me. I turned my car off normally and just entered the car then it was fine. But should i be expecting this to happen more often? Do i need to go to Tesla and replace voltage?

    • @AlwaysBroken
      @AlwaysBroken  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you reset it the alarm and it comes back, you will need to replace the low voltage battery unfortunately.

    On the older Teslas (mine is a 2017), the 12V battery should be replaced every 3-4 years routinely to prevent getting stranded. If you have the bio weapons feature, change the HEPA filter at the same time. Get the filter from Tesla. Other aftermarket filters may not have a shroud attached like the OEM one.

    • @DrDsIT
      @DrDsIT 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I also have a 2017 MX and purchased a lithium iron phosphate replacement battery from Ohmuu that will last about 7 years or longer and a HEPA filter without the shroud because the shroud can be reused and you save money.
