He's so confident when walking. His land, his special place....all of it very familiar! He knows exactly where to go, waits until danger passes, and off he runs again. Clever Martin!
It’s clear Martin enjoys the walk with his human companion/guardian. Some of the time he leads and other time follows, but is always mindful of his companion’s whereabouts.
Also note his ears that are always turned backwards when he is sitting at the door waiting to go for a walk with a human. It means: "You coming or what?" :)
Well little martin is so cute! At first Granny is ahead and looks around to see Where he is? then Martin decides "okay granny i'm going pass you", and dashes ahead! later on he abruptly stoops and takes a rest in the grass (so cute), then going back when seeing that man he waits for him to get a distance away and then dashes off!Seeing and hearing the sounds of other animals all helps to make for a days adventure! Cute!
Thank you so much for that description. Very accurate! :) And quite fascinating when he is standing at the puddle considering his next step. Also, note the incredibly quick tail swings when he is on the bench. 😀
@@everydaycatstories319 Well off course at that bigger puddle he said "No i'm not going through that! and yeah, he leaped up on that bench! Cats were meant to be out! they are so much happier when they are, feel very sorry for those that are not let out and feel if your cat isn't allowed to go out then you shouldn't have one!
@@pamelazuill8438 Agreed! Although you could argue that if you live right next to a big road you shouldn’t have outdoor cats. Fortunately, Mads and Martin’s house is situated in a place with only slow traffic (but there is a big road not too far away).
@@pamelazuill8438 I agree cats like being outside, in the daytime all my cats are out if they want to be thanks to cat doors. But at nite their locked for the nite, too many coyotes
Yeah, full of energy, that little thing. :-) The great white heron used to be rare here. I never saw one until a couple of years ago. This winter I've seen it on three different locations in the area. It has become more common due to warmer weather.
And back home for some sweet dreams where Martin slayed the giant (man) never to return after a joust and running through long grass as a fearless leader protecting his pack, birds are perhaps background music though in his dreams youll never know if he uses sauce or gravy with that one!😅
His predecessors were never this brave. We could walk with them, but very rarely more than 1-200 meters. They got distracted or felt they were approaching a dangerous territory. Martin and Mads seem fearless! :)
Good question! I think cats tend to follow their owner if they feel it's okay and safe. All Mads and Martin's "predecessors" have to a certain degree followed us on walks. The new thing is that the walks are longer than a few hundred meters, and that the cats continue to follow us right back to the house. The other cats were normally scared or distracted by something before we could even reach the lake. I think it's a prerequisite that the cats feel comfortable about the area - if it was in a city or another busy place, the cat walks would probably be far more complicated. :)
Unfortunately not! There is a video coming up from a dog-filled walk. But dogs must be in a leash - most respect that. The best way to avoid dogs and people on the walks is to avoid the period between late afternoon and sunset where the route can be “crowded”.

I am the cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me.-Rudyard Kipling
Exactly! ❤️
I’m so in ❤ with Martin he’s so determined managing his way to where he wants to go beautiful place you got there to enjoy nature. 🥰❤️🙏🏼
I love Martin... Thanks for sharing his quest to the bench and flooded shore.
Thanks a lot for watching!
Even Martin is pleased to be home
He makes me smile loudly with his pure joy 😂
he is so happy on his route 😊

Agreed! He sees it as a kind of team work. :)
I love Martin's little adventures!❤
Glad you like it - it's entertaining to see him take on the world. :)
❤❤❤

This guy is magnificient. He knows his place in the world. I had two black cats a few decades ago. They are the best.
Вот такие котики! Сами ходят, не нужны им шлейки и ттропинки сами находят! 🐈⬛👍
Very sweet cat!

Love that swishy tail when he is perturbed…
Extremely swishy, yes! Like a labrador's tail. ;)
Love to see Martin sprinting home - he is really fast. And the heron at 3:00 looks majestic.

Ha ha, yes, probably. They might have caught the great tit since that video was made. 😬
Unbelievable - I've never seen a cat doing this 😂 - and he's even completely unafraid of mud, snow, puddles and other such nasty things...

How do you train a cat to walk with you, not using a leash?
