Welcome to Floatplane user verification! Tuna tier for $4, Dolphin tier for $9, Whale for $15, and the Balaenoptera tier! Each tier gives you more authenticity than the last, and the Balaenoptera tier adds a whole pixel to the Whale tier mark (and nothing else)!
ALL legacy verification on Twitter is going away (INCLUDING for LTT) in the next 2 months. Elon has already tweeted that info out. And that is because MANY legacy verified accounts are fake, and were given a blue check because some corrupt politician or the mainstream media called into Twitter and told them to verify an account (many DNC bot accounts are verified) and the old Twitter would just give the blue check within seconds, no verification process needed. So some may want to say Twitter Blue is being made fun of, but the fact remains that Twitter Blue is the ONLY real verified process. Elon stated a long time ago, do you think the politicians and mainstream media are going to pay for all their fake accounts?
having to pay for verification is terrible. verification should be “this account is who they say they are” now its being used as “i’m important now, pay attention to me because i bought a blue badge”. the amount of misinformation that will circulate because of these payed verification badges is going to be massive, especially in older people.
Im fine with paying for verification as in you are paying for them to go through the process of actually verifying you because it takes time out of their day. But verification without checks for money is stupid
Thing with Twitter is that it _already was_ an "I'm important now." The difference is that they've said the quiet part out loud now. It was never about "I am who I say I am" or else they wouldn't have stripped people of their verification for voicing opinions that someone didn't like.
The issue of paying for "verification" was revealed when it was created, there was a flood of "verified" Elon Musks, and yeah countermeasures were taken but not everyone can get the same level of support as easily as the literal CEO, it's a bad system named in a way that misrepresents it's actual functionality to the determent of the user base.
Yeah, Facebook's help-center is laughable at best, trauma inducing at worst. I used to be an admin on a Facebook page at my last job, where I had an anomaly that their help center didn't have an answer for. It is impossible to contact anyone via chat, phone or email.

The irony is that Twitter Blue will probably end up being significantly more successful. I still don't understand why this is so expensive. Imagine if it was actually reasonable, like 50 cents a month; many millions of people would sign up for sure. . Too bad about payment processing fees.
My Facebook-linked store has been broken on Facebook for over a year. I'll ironically have to subscribe for a month just to try and get it fixed.
As a resident photographer for several places, a musician -- someone who self brands -- I would probably pay for it.
Extra-Medium is the most hilarious size I have ever heard of.
50+ people and fb marketplace are what keep the boat floating over at meta
Why have only your customers pay you when you could also have your products pay you?
The intro animation/jingle was one of the things that kind of sparked my interest in LTT
If Facebook starts charging them it will incentivize me to get off of social media.
Getting back my account without actual "user facing" support was a fucking torture.
"increased search visibility" really means that they will lower visibility for those that doesnt pay.
In my experience with Facebook, they don't have support for the user
Facebook should be called Facenuts lmao.
imagine paying to have your data sold to advertisers
Nope on any $ for FB, Twitter Blue, or any social media. No one needs it, no one.
6:36 Petition to call that “extra medium” warehouse product “Marge” (medium-large)
I would pay 144$/second for the company, but I wouldn't even pay 1$ for a lifetime of this subscription.
Ok but I'm in that range between large and medium and I would *absolutely* buy it labeled as "extra medium".
I am surprised no one mentioned this, but I HIGHLY doubt it is "Direct Customer Support"
It is going to be a chat bot probably.
I think the "direct support" doesn't mean any support at all, but like, they can talk to a real person instead of going through automated support.
"Extra-medium" is what a lot of people call _medium large._ Some people may call it medium-plus, with its polar being medium-petite.
Honestly, if I were Twitter, instead of selling blue checkmarks, I would have kept the blue ones the same, and sold grey checkmarks...
As a gamer, I'd make the blue checkmarks stay blue and have a purple and orange checkmarks for higher tiers lol
@@dazlock4491 humans are silly. Why the heck do you think that would work? Blue has to be the highest tier because it always has been (at least with Twitter). People will complain and/or get confused otherwise. Sad but true.
Proactively adding a way to tip Instagram and Facebook creators. Essentially eliminating the effect of spamming accounts because legitimate accounts pay.
Those aren’t bad things.
Did they just not realize that all these silicon valley techno f companies just have literally no customer support or way to contact them whatsoever other than going directly to the managements houses?
They did...??? They're complaining about the fact that they are charging for it...???
Also you don't have an ad blocker???
you could probably do like a mini currency like twitch bits, you just buy them separately from a subscription or whatever and then you can either gift them to creators or buy merch with them
You know what could be cool? if merch messages were rich text so you could make certain parts more readable for Luke and Linus
I understand if the subscription allows u to skip the line for customer service but being denied customer service for not sibscribing is crazy
Motorcycle helmets are sometimes available in a medium/large size that is between medium and large to get a closer fit
