And, like many of us at different times in our lives, a man fighting his own demons even though he was Count Dracula! Dracula -- a creature conjured up by author Bram Stoker, but, brought to life by Bela Lugosi.

Bela Lugosi was a neat person. I had read he was wounded in WWI fighting the Russians. He received a medal for that and he also help pull another soldier from the battlefield under fire. Hollywood should have given him more roles to play.
I saw a photo of Bela ,as Jesus, from an old Hungarian play. He looked very good.
For me it’s amazing and wonderful to see “new” footage of Lugosi after being a fan for so many decades!

Thank you so very much for publishing this file featuring a private side of Bela Lugosi. I have been a Lugosi devotee since I was a child 60 years ago, laying on our living room floor watching every Dracula movie that was broadcast. Since the Internet came into being, I have done a lot of research on Bela
and learned that he indeed was quite a serious actor back in his homeland - I saw a photograph of him in which he portrayed Jesus Christ in a play in professional theatre when he was quite young, and I would love to have seen him in that role, for the photograph of him as Jesus was impressive. It is very important to keep his legacy alive today so he will not be forgotten. He was and is the quintessential Count Dracula and there is only one other actor who comes in second after Bela to portraying Count Dracula, and that is Gary Oldman. I believe Bela would love Gary's portrayal. Thank you KTTV in Los Angeles, for
