I live in Canada now but I’m from
Halifax and it still holds a special place in my heart! I saw a clip from this on Insta and had to watch, the clip didn’t do it it justice, so good! Made me chuckle. I was always more of a zoo bar girl though, maybe you could do one on that next and the police raids that shut it down 😅

Thank you, this brought back some amazing memories of such a great stage of my life. As an 18 year old I moved to Halifax (sowerby bridge actually) in 1985 to play Rugby and came back for the next few winters. We spent many nights, mainly mid week, at the Acca. Halifax was a fantastic, fun town for us young Aussie blokes.

Omg the nostalgia! Fond fond memories of this place; the carpet, the manky toilets, the queue! And if you're a genuine Haligonian, you're guaranteed to know someone who was kicked down the Acca stairs by the bouncers 😂

As someone who was born and bred in Halifax this video was very nostalgic.
Lived in boothtown to be specific, if you’ve never heard of boothtown it’s a lovely place (not).
Halifax is a unique place. The people are wild and weird and your spot on about the architecture been stunning but also run down buildings. Spent many time in the market or in the piece hall with my mates over the years.
Everyone has an opinion on the Acca. Sticky floors and underage drinkers are often mentioned. I’ve had loads of quality nights out at the Acca and honestly one of the best nightclubs I’ve been to. The atmosphere, the cheap drinks and usually it’s like a high school reunion every time I go in.
I haven’t been to the Acca for several years and not very big on drinking now but watching this makes me want to round up the lads and have a nostalgic night out.
Favourite part of the video was talking to the classy folk of Halifax 😂
I now live in Bradford which isn’t much different to Halifax expect the curry is better over here but the nightlife is definitely far better in fax.
Oh and your filmmaking is quality. Mine is awful would love to upload more but oh well 😂

Nice storytelling and format mate. I can see where you’re going with this in terms of you evolution in the types of work you like doing these days especially with integration of humor - kinda combining your old and new styles/approaches. Love the music choice, bought back old memories of my clubbing days too. Well done and sorry to hear about your shingles!

It’s certainly different to some of the things we’ve done in the recent past in Bali & Thailand This is more aligned to the kinds of videos I made when I first started filmmaking but integrating some new things learned over the past few years at the same time 🎭
Shooting a few more in Thailand now so let’s see where this goes! Cheers man

Super little creation with plenty of wit and quality stuff all mixed together. Never got to the Acapulco myself as my nightclub was Oakwood Hall in Bingley. Interesting that people mentioned the bouncers and the term violent, i used to know one of these lads years ago and he was a bodybuilder called Paul but better known by his nickname of Plug and by all accounts a bit useful if you were in a spot of trouble. He used to love Acapulco's with a vengeance.

Brilliantly made documentary and great story.
I'm happy that the club still exists today as unfortunately most town centres have lost their "Acca", but it was classic everyone outside saying about its a shithole, sticky carpets and dodgy bouncers, but soon as they are in, they have a whale of a time. (And people of all ages as well).
I hope you do more documentaries like this, especially around subjects like this in Britain. It was also nice to see a brief overview of Halifax, unfortunately ive never been, and the closet I got was beating them in Football Manager when I was a kid!
